PROJECT PROPOSAL

TITLE OF THE PROJECT: Project OCT “One-on-One Computer Tutorials”


to Learners
TARGET PARTICIPANTS: 53 Grades 3 and 55 Grades 6 Learners
PROPOSED DATE AND VENUE: Whole Year Round for School Year 2023-

I. RATIONALE

Computer literacy is the ability to use computer and other technology


efficiently as early in elementary grade. It is expected that elementary
learners nowadays have basics in computer. However, basic computer is one
of the problems to every young learner of Enrique C. Nueva Elementary
School who even never touch any parts of computer since they haven’t it in
their home.

Project OCT (One-on-One Computer Tutorial) for learners is a school


innovation to fill the gap of learner in terms of computer skills to grades 3
and 6 learners. It also helps them to be prepared for any online assessment
that will be implemented in the division, region and even in the national.
This activity will also help learners learn basic computer skills and provide
joyful experience as they are preparing for the next step in education.

II. OBJECTIVES

Basic computer tutorial program aims the following:

1. To facilitate grade 3 and 6 pupil, learn basic computer skills


such as:
a. Microsoft Word
b. Microsoft Excel
c. Microsoft Power Point
2. To provide opportunities for grade 3 and 6 pupils experience
on how to hands-on computer.
3. To prepare grade3 and 6 learners for the e-DAT and other
electronic based assessment.

III. PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Project OCT (One-on-One Computer Tutorial) is a whole


year-round hands-on activity to grade 3 and 6 learners, aiming
to help develop basic computer skills to becoming competitive
and excellent 21st century learners. ICT skilled teachers will
conduct and facilitate the 40 minutes hands-on computer
activity to 10 learners for grade 3 in the morning and another
10 grade 6 learners in the afternoon. So, it is expected that all
grade 3 and grade 6 learners will learn basic computer skills
once a week.

IV. METHODOLOGIES

1. Conduct orientation with the Grade III and VI learners with the
teachers. Each teacher will be provided with a copy of the project.
2. The OCT program will start upon the arrival of the computer sets.
3. ICT skilled teacher will prepare the computer room to be used for
learners.
4. Make arrangement or list of pupils who will be attending in a
particular week.
5. ICT Room will be utilized as venue for the OCT project.
6. There will be monthly assessment given to the participants.
7. Certificate of recognition will be given to teachers and to the
deserving pupil after the activity.

TIME FRAME

September 29, Orientation with the Grade III and VI learners with
2023 the teachers.
October 2-6, 2023 Preparation of the venue and the computer set
October 9, 2023 Target date to start the program
April 26, 2024 Assessment Date
May 10, 2024 Target date to end the program
V. EXPECTED OUTPUTS
The OCT Project is expected to have the following outcomes:
1. Demonstrated basic computer skills such as Microsoft
Word, Excel and Power Point.
2. Demonstrated skills on electronic assessment.
