NARRATIVE REPORT OF GRADE VI- JOSE P. RIZAL IN THEIR PROGRESSIVE


EXPANSION OF FACE TO FACE CLASSES

It has been two years ago when COVID 19 Pandemic arise. Most of the countries
all over the world were greatly affected by this. Problems were came about. But, just like
what the quotation written above; people must keep moving. People should continue
and fight for the challenge of life. They should not give up, instead it must serve as a
lesson for them to learn.
This was the same in Education, to ensure the continuity of it, the Department of
Education implemented some learning modalities that even up to this day being used.
And now, to bring better quality education to the learners, it began the Pilot
Implementation of Limited Face to Face Classes and Progressive Expansion based on
the orders and memoranda released by the department.
Now, most of the schools were given a chance to conduct their limited face to
face classes and to gradually expand after they successfully met the expectations and
what was required by the Department of Education
In Oogong Elementary School, district of Santa Cruz, division of Laguna, the Pilot
implementation of Face to Face Classes led by the Grade 2, with 15 learners started
last April 4. It is headed by the school principal Mrs. Aimee V. Cambel, Ms. Jocelyn M.
Marquez as the Grade 2 learners’ adviser together with 23 teaching personnel.
Two weeks after, the Progressive Expansion of Face to Face Classes was
participated by the Grade VI Jose P. Rizal, composed of 15 learners under the
supervision of Mr. Eugene D. Collo. The class was scheduled every morning, twice a week of
Tuesday and Thursday. With the guidance of his school head, they conducted a meeting
and orientation with the parents and learners a day before the classes. They discussed
the schedule, guidelines, do’s and don’t’s and gave some reminders that the learners
and parent must know. They also had Pupils Simulation for Face to Face Classes and
they took pictures for their IDs as well.
On the first day of classes dated April 19, the learners arrived at school at 7 in
the morning. The teachers assigned for health declaration, hand washing and Q.R code
welcomed them happily. The day started with morning ceremony where the learners are
praying and doing some body exercises. The teacher introduced himself, the teachers
of them in different subjects, school faculty and school head as well. Later on, he let his
learners to watch some video clips that regards to mental health which he explained
afterward and he tackled the Homeroom Guidance so that his learners would be aware
for it
On the 2nd day of their Face to Face Classes dated April 21, the teachers in their
different subjects taught them. It started with Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao as their 1 st
subject on that day followed by T,L,E , Science and Homeroom Guidance. Their
teachers in different subjects were discussed the writings and lessons in modules they
have for particular week. They were also given Assessment or Formal Test prepared by
their subject teachers subsequently.
Today, we are now in our 4 th week. The same scenario and activities will happen
during their face to face classes. From the moment, that the learners are inside the
classroom, they will study their lesson, listen and participate to class discussion. It could
be said that the expansion of limited face to face classes of Grade VI- Jose P. Rizal was
successful. Based on the monitoring and evaluation, there was a high level of
attendance among the participants, they were satisfied with the implementation of
health and safety protocols and were also contented on their improvements brought
about by the face-to-face teaching and learning process.
