a) Write the expression of instantaneous power?

b) Write the current expression and draw it, if the voltage given in the form of v(t) = 10sin(wt)

c) How much reactive power contained and its type?

Problem1 The three loads L1 , L2 and L3 are connected in parallel and supplied from the source
vs (t) = Vm sin(100πt + θ) through a line has a reactance of j1Ω as shown in Fig.(1).

1. Find Vm and θ

2. Calculate the complex power delivered from the source.

3. What the size of element that connected in parallel with the source vs (t) to reach 0.9 lagging power factor

4. If the the load L3 is replaced by a variable resistance Ro to absorb the maximum average power. What is
the value of this resistance.

Problem 3: Fig.(3) shows a three-phase Y-connected source supply a Y-connected load has 15kW + j12 kVAr
through a line has j2Ω. The VBC = 415V . The voltage sequence is positive

1. Find the Vcn and Vab

2. The complex power supplied by the the three-phase source.
