2023-24 Declaration of Finances

For International Undergraduate Students

Instructions (please read carefully). See the next page for the form to be completed.

U.S. law requires that we have written documentation of financial support for all international students. We must receive this documentation
before we can issue form I-20, which you need to apply for a student visa or to transfer from one school to another within the U.S.

• We require bank proof of support for one year of study in the form of a bank statement (checking/savings accounts) with sufficient funds or
bank letter indicating that the required funds will be available. DO NOT submit long bank statements that include transaction history.
• All forms of documentation must be on official letterhead from the institution issuing the document and include the type of account, type of
currency, and the equivalent USD amount. The documentation must be dated within the last 3 months. English translations are also required.
• Your parent or sponsor must sign in the space indicated, under “Certification.” If you are receiving a government or private scholarship, a
separate letter may be submitted. The letter must include the amount available for tuition, books and supplies, health insurance, and living and
personal expenses.

The following documents are NOT accepted:

 Statements verifying employment and salary

 Insurance premiums and policies
 Property or personal assets (automobiles, land, buildings, jewelry, etc.)
 Lines of credit
 Assets such as investments, stocks, bonds, equities, pension/retirement accounts
 Income tax returns

Room fee 11,562
Dining plan 6,992

Note: The cost for supplies will be slightly higher for Architecture and Art students in the College of Architecture, Art, and Planning as well as students
in these majors: Landscape Architecture, Design & Environmental Analysis, and Fiber Science & Apparel Design.

Other potential expenses you may incur:

Settling-in expenses: $1,000 – for personal items such as sheets/blankets for your room or the purchase of additional clothing for the climate in Ithaca
