    DIFFERENT TYPES OF PLATFORM TECHNOLOGIES AND EXAMPLES
    1. OPERATING SYSTEM
    An operating system manages all the application software and programs on a computer or mobile
    phone. It allows software applications to run effectively on a digital device.
    EXAMPLES:
     Microsoft Windows.
     Apple macOS.
     Google's Android OS.
     Linux
     Fedora

    2. DATABASE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (DBMS)


    A database management system is an essential tool in companies because database management
    is a crucial process. This system software consists of a group of programs that allow you to
    organize, sort, edit, retrieve, manage, define, and store data in a database.
    EXAMPLES:
     MySQL
     MariaDB
     MongoDB
     Oracle Database
     SQLite

    3. WEB PLATFORM
    A web platform is a service platform that facilitates information discovery and sharing on the
    internet. It usually includes other digital elements that make users find and share information for
    free.
    EXAMPLES:
     Britannica.
     ResearchGate.
     Lexis Web.
     Wolfram Alpha.
     Scribd

    An endpoint security platform is system software that incorporates specific functions from
    vendors and sometimes third-party products to improve the operation of your digital device.
    Other operations an endpoint security platform performs are the prevention of file-based
    malware, firewall creation, directory services, access management, and encryption.
    EXAMPLES:
     Quantum.
     CloudGuard.
     Harmony.
     Horizon.
    5. ROBOTIC PLATFORMS
    A robotics software platform is a software package with a simplified programming framework
    for robotics devices. The platform provides robotics devices with all the components required to
    perform a task.
    EXAMPLES:
     Google ROBEL.
     Microsoft AirSim.
     Apollo Baidu.
     iRobot AWARE.
     OpenJAUS.
     Yarp.
     Pyro.
    Explanation Why:
    I choose those example because we all know that the Windows OS has been around since the
    1980s and has had several versions and updates (including Windows 95, Windows Vista,
    Windows 7/8/10, etc.) Microsoft Windows is one of the popular operating system types and is
    preloaded on most new PC hardware. With each new Windows update or release, Microsoft
    continues to work on improving their users’ experience, hardware, and software, making
    Windows more accessible and easier to use. It usually includes other digital elements that make
    users find and share information for free. Many users prefer Microsoft Windows because they
    say it’s compatible with many other kinds of software. Many kinds of computer programs run
    best on Microsoft Windows because they’re developed by Microsoft.
