INDIVIDUAL ASSIGNMENT BRIEF: Training Needs Assessment

1.0 OVERVIEW

The coursework component of MED 1333 Corporate Training Management will be assessed through
TWO (2) different assignments. This assignment brief explains the first part of it, Individual
Assignment that requires you to produce a written assignment fulfilling the specifications stated in
Section 1.3.

1.1 COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES

CLO 1: Apply knowledge and to identify workplace performance to be improved on

CLO 2: Conduct a training needs assessment

1.2 PURPOSE

This assignment allows you to demonstrate your understanding and knowledge of skills of developing
people and conducting a training needs assessment.

1.3 ASSIGNMENT TASK

Your client has asked you to conduct a team building training session for his firm. The training was
needed because an employee emailed the HR Manager stating that some employees did not do their
job and passed on the responsibilities to other employees. This has caused the email sender to be
overworked and could not meet the deadlines set by his supervisor as a result of added
responsibilities. Your client’s employees consist of employees from several departments. As a
trainer, conduct a training needs assessment to enhance workplace performance. Your needs
assessment must include the following components:

4: Analyze Data
5: Feedback/ Evaluation Form of the Programme by Attendees
*Note: The items for 5. Feedback/Evaluation Form are provided in Appendix 1.

You must write this assignment in a continuous form within the word range of 1000 – 1200. Your
assignment must be strongly supported by relevant citations and references to the most recent
journals and books (2010 -2020). Conduct a good analysis of your readings and develop an engaging
review and reflection in your assignment.

1.4 SCORING CRITERIA


● This assignment contributes 20% of the total marks for this course but the raw marks is
considered as 100%.
● The assignment will be graded using the Assessment Rubric attached in Appendix 2. You are
advised to study the Rubric closely before and while you work on this assignment. You are to
submit this Assessment Rubric with your completed assignment.
● The word limit for this assignment is 1000 -1200 words.
● You will be provided with feedback on the assignment before the Final Assessment

1.5 SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Your assignment should be typed using 12-point Times New Roman / Arial, and 1.5 spacing. The total
count of words should be indicated at the end of your assignment.

You are required to submit a soft copy of your assignment to your lecturer via e-QIU. (A hardcopy is
to be submitted ONLY if MCO is lifted by then)

Prior to submission, the assignment MUST be submitted through Turnitin.

i. The Turnitin report should indicate a similarity index of less than 30%.
ii. Turnitin details are as follows:

iii. The Turnitin report MUST be attached together with the assignment.
