Khurajgaon is a small village in the tehsil / Taluka of Savner / Saoner,
in the Nagpur district of Maharashtra (Vidarbh region)
Postal PIN code number- 441107.
Postal head office : Saoner
41 KM towards North from District headquarters Nagpur.
7 KM from Saoner.
801 KM from State capital Mumbai

the year every day
• Maharashtra State electricity Divisional Corporation Limited
MSEDCL (Mahavitaran) provides electricity supply
• There is no issue of load shedding as such through out the year
Drainage system and sanitation
• Entire village is having closed drainage system
• Sanitation system is quite well mentioned
• Some additional work of installation of drainage pipes was
found to be in progress.
• At some places open drainage were observed due to some
breakdown

Agriculture
• Farming is the main occupation in this village where most of
the people are farmers having their own farmyard.
• Cotton, vegetables, food crops, orange farm are some of the
commonly grown crops.

Along with agriculture, Following allied occupation were observed
in the village.

Community relations and cultural activities


• Khurajgaon grampanchayat takes initiative to conduct various
cultural and social activities.
• Every fortnight grampanchayat organise meetings of villagers to
discuss issues if any or about some development work as
needed.
Irrigation and water supply

• Drip irrigation and Sprinkle irrigation are commonly employed


irrigation techniques in the agriculture.

• Most the agriculture land is fertile black soil having ample level
of underground water tables so water supply to agricultural is
available in all seasons.

• At domestic level, drinking water is supplied through tap water


lines as village a having a huge water tank to satisfy domestic
need of drinking and potable water.

• Khurajgaon is having Primary Zilha school upto class 4 and
Anganwadi centre.

vegetables, Seasonal fruits, Jaggery, Groundnut etc.

• Mid day meal menu is decided for a week and it changes


• periodically to provide variety of nutritious food for students.

• For further education of Class 5 onwards upto class 10, students


of khurajgaon village need to travel to nearby Mangsa villages
which is around 4 km away from khurajgaon.

Medical and health facilities

• Since the population of village Khurajgaon is less than 2000,


there is NO Primary Health Centre (PHC) in the village.

• Every Thursday neaby PHC doctor visit the village.

• Nearby PHC is at Mangsa village (3 km distance)

• Villagers travel to Saoner and Nagpur hospitals in case of


emergencies and severe health issues.
• Gram panchayat organises periodic health check up camp in the
village.
Medical and health facilities
• In the month of December 2023, Health awareness camp
“Shashan Aaplya Daari” was organised in the village to
create awareness among people about healthy life.

Ecofriendly and Environment sustainable activities


• During visit Few solar street lights were observed in the
village.

• Some homes in the village found to have Gobar gas plant


also which was quite remarkable and was operational.
Housing, shops and cooperative society

• Village is having one small daily needs and grocery shop


at the entrance.

• The village is also having one microfinance bank named


“Shilapujya”

• One small cotton company and cotton mill is located


nearby the village provides an employment opportunity
to young villagers in particular.
GRAMPANCHAYAT, KHURAJGAON

• Khurajgaon Grampanchayat is well cement concrete constructed


office having proper furniture for seating arrangement of visitors.

• Grampanchayat office is also having proper drinking water and


separate washroom facilities for gents and ladies.

Activities of Khurajgaon Grampanchayat

• Grampanchayat take initiative and conduct various activities


in village for development and betterment of villager’s life.

• Grampanchayat installed a Projector in Z.P Primary school to


provide an opportunity to learn by Audio video digital mode.

• Grampanchayat spent funds for Gattu pavement and Ground


development in the school area. Gattu concreting is done in
this area of school.
Implementation of Government Schemes

Khurajgaon Grampanchayat implemented and continuing following


Government Scheme in the villages with villagers support and
cooperation for betterment of everyone living there.

Suggestions and Recommendation

 Home based cottage work for household women's of village


since most of them are either housewife or working in farms.
 Bachat Gat Yojna implementation on broader scale
 Adult Education Programme implementation is recommended
 Since some of the primary school children are travelling to
nearby village for convent education (English medium), efforts
can be taken towards starting the same module in village itself
with initiative efforts from ZP school and Grampanchayat
 Educational facilities overall need to be taken care of.
 Awareness about girl child education need to be promoted
 More awarness about various Govt schemes need to be created
Suggestions and Recommendations

 House wives in the village can be trained to start any house hold
sewing machine work
 Grampanchayat is suggested to take initiative for developing
school conditions so that most of the kids in village can complete
their education in village school.
 Literacy and Adult education can be taken care of to increase the
awareness amongst women's in particular.
 Internal roads of the village can be further constructed.
 Mid day meal area of the school is recommended to keep more
clean and hygienic
Conclusion

1. Overall experience of this community engagement activity at


Khurajgaon was very pleasant and came across village life in real.
2. Village in not having PHC is something to look into.
3. Schooling in village is only upto class 4.
4. Very narrow internal roads.
5. Number of daily needs shop is very less.
6. Lush green farms around the village make it an enjoyable place to
visit.
7. Sanitation drainage system is quite good.
8. Social and communal harmony was found to be well maintained.
