1. JUSTIFY THE FOLLOWING DEFINITIONS:

• Curriculum is a framework that sets expectations for student learning. It
serves as a guide for teachers, a roadmap if you will, that establishes
standards for student performance and teacher accountability.

• Curriculum is the "floor plan" or blueprint for what is going to be

taught/learned/experienced in the academic classroom over a period of
time.

• Curriculum is the gathered information that has been considered relevant to

a specific topic. It can always be changed or added to in order to become
relevant to the times.

 The term "curriculum" can mean many different things to different people
who are engaged in education. Curriculum is the term used by teachers to
describe the subject that they teach throughout a class. The curriculum for
each subject is simply a collection of activities and learning outcome goals. It
can be used as a map to show you where to go and how to get there. It is not
enough to just "have" a course of study. Its overarching goal is to promote
student learning. It's also important to realize that a curriculum is more than
simply a single benchmark for a school year. Rather, it is a component of a
much broader jigsaw that is related to the curriculum of every other grade.
Students improve from year to year. Following the curriculum with your
children prepares them to continue on their path in a more logical and orderly
manner the following year, and each year after that.

• SIMILARITIES OF THE CURRICULUM OF SINGAPORE, CHINA, AND PH

• DIFFERENCES OF THE CURRICULUM OF SINGAPORE, CHINA, AND PH

Singapore's educational system has evolved to be more adaptable and

diverse in recent years. The curriculum was compressed in order to allow way
for more inquiry-based activities in the future. The standard time was
designed to allow instructors to collaborate on lesson planning and active
learning activities for their pupils during their scheduled period. It is based on
scientific concepts and procedures. There are three areas that are crucial to
the practice of science, and these are knowledge, understanding, and
application; skills and procedures; and ethics and attitudes. The foundation of
science is built on these three areas.
The goal of the scientific curriculum in China is to increase students'
understanding of science. There are eight domains that make up science
literacy: knowledge of science and technology, science processing skills,
development of processing intelligence, scientific applications, designing and
producing, understanding the nature of science, understanding the
development of science and technology, and development of scientific
attitudes.
A comprehensive science curriculum framework for basic education in
the Philippines is the primary product, with an emphasis on encouraging the
growth of scientific inquiry as the primary goal. Developed as a result of a
series of brainstorming meetings and marathon sessions to rethink the vision
for school science in Grades 1 through 10, this scientific curricular framework
takes into account citizens' expectations in a digitally driven environment.
Developing scientifically educated citizens and decision-makers are the goals
and substance of this program. New international trends in curriculum
planning and design, as well as other educational breakthroughs, are
considered, as are emerging societal and global difficulties and concerns. It is
published biannually.
The curriculums of the Philippines and Singapore are somewhat similar in
that both places a high value on inquiry. Inquiry is defined as the core
foundation for acquiring the necessary skills and procedures, as well as the
scientific knowledge, ethics, and mindset to be able to apply scientific
methodologies and concepts to societal, everyday life, and environmental
concerns, among other things.

• DOES THE CURRICULUM AFFECT THE ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE OF
STUDENTS IN SINGAPORE? HOW?

 As the fundamental guide for all educators in terms of what is

necessary for effective teaching and learning, the curriculum ensures
that all students have access to academic experiences that are
demanding and rewarding for them and their pupils. The structure,
organization, and concerns of a curriculum are all intended to increase
student learning while also facilitating instructional delivery.
Curriculum must incorporate the fundamental goals, procedures,
resources, and assessments in order to effectively support instruction
and learning in the classroom. The effectiveness of the curriculum is
determined by how well it provides a measurable plan and structure
for the delivery of a quality education to teachers, students,
administrators, and community stakeholders. If the curriculum is
ineffective, it creates a hostile learning environment in which it is
difficult for students to learn or it decreases their desire to learn and
enthusiasm for attending the class.
