ACTIVITY 1: PICTIONARY

TEACHER’S ACTIVITY: The teacher will flash series of pictures with only the beginning letter of the word for each one. Then, the
students will guess the word that each picture shows.

ACTIVITY 2: FIX THE JUMBLED

TEACHER’S ACTIVITY: The teacher will show another set of pictures with jumbled letters for each word. The students will arrange those letters in correct
order to form the word that each picture represents.

1. How was the activity? Was it difficult or easy?
2. Did you find the pictures helpful in arranging the letters correctly?
3. Do you know how do we call these words?

INTERACTIVE DISCUSSION

SIGHT WORDS: sight words are commonly used words that we often memorize by sight, so that we can automatically recognize these words easily. Sight
words are also known as ‘popcorn words’ because they pop up frequently in reading and writing. These words help promote reading comprehension and
fluency. There are different sight words for different grade levels.
Here are some examples of sight words:

ACTIVITY 3: FIND YOUR MATCH (Group Activity)


The students will be divided into four (4) pairs. Each pair will be given a picture and the word that it represents, the teacher will put/stick the words and
pictures to the body of each member. Every member will be task to find his/her pair.

ASSESSMENT:
Direction: Match the sight word with its picture.

1. What is our lesson today?
2. Do you think it is important to read sight words? Why?
Assignment:
Direction: Choose and encircle the correct word for the picture.
