What are the possible improvement that you can see in your school in highschool
1. Pedagogy skills
The concept of learning, unlearning and relearning need to be implemented over here. We
need a transition from rote learning to conceptual methods that can keep the teachers and
students engaged. The liking or disliking of a subject depends on the method of teaching. We
need to enhance and upgrade our teaching skills for a better outcome.
2. Quality of teachers
Most schools compromise on quality by hiring teachers at less pay. Teachers are the key
elements in the classroom that ignite the minds of children for seeking knowledge. We need
to improve teacher quality by providing training and equipping them with modern teaching
aids, tools, and methodologies such as smart classrooms and digital course content.
3. Maintained infrastructure
A School should motivate the students to come to school by providing the basic amenities
required as per norms. It should have a spacious classroom with furniture, board, electrical
fittings, clean and hygienic toilets, an activity and play area, laboratories, and a computer lab.
But having all those amenities without their proper utilization and maintenance may
demotivate a child from going to school.
1. Giving them more time: You must understand that slow learners are special students who
require more time than ordinary ones. You can give them at least ten minutes extra time as
they try to read a comprehension passage than what is permitted in the school curriculum.
Consult the school principal and arrange for additional learning sessions for such students
after school hours, if needed.
2. Explain as directly as possible: Make sure that your instruction are as direct as possible.
Define each of the terms in the simplest manner and continue explaining till the lessons are
completely clear to your pupils.
3. Help them to be more organized: Organizing priorities can be really helpful for slow learners.
This would enable them to concentrate on their studies and finish their pending assignments
on time.
K-12 curriculum drew negative reactions. Critics have been very vocal about their primary concern
and as well as the Government isn’t ready yet for this new system. And according to the parents of
every student here in the Philippines said that this is another burden for them. They also want to
suspend the program but the government remained firm saying that this new educational system
offers opportunities for every Filipino student.
The K-12 curriculum have many advantage to every Filipino students. One of this is enhancing our
minds and skills, it may helps us to decide what will be the course that we want and this may lead us
to a successful life. Preparedness in stepping into tertiary learning is also an advantage, the students
will be more furnished to deal with much higher level of mastering as they step in college. Another
advantage of K-12 curriculum is being ready to join the workforce, the Senior High School graduates
will be trained that will make them commensible at certain track.
Teachers play a very important role in a student’s life. As a teacher, one must bring out the best in
students and inspire them to strive for greatness. Students are considered as the future of the nation
and humankind, and a teacher is believed to be a credible guide for their advancement. Not only do
they guide students in academics or extracurricular activities, but teachers are also responsible for
shaping a child’s future, making him/her a better human being. A teacher imparts knowledge, good
values, tradition, modern-day challenges, and ways to resolve them within students. A good teacher
is an asset to the students.
