    The objective has been to provide insight into maintenance best practices to
    maintenance staff as well as introduce SKF’s food & beverage solutions to solve plant

    This mobile training initiative was more popular than ever in 2008. Since 2006,
    70 Nestlé locations have been visited, and about 700 employees trained in maintenance
    best practices. In addition to Europe and North America, SKF maintenance vehicles are
    now available in Asia, including the following countries: India (2 Vans), Indonesia (1 Van),
    China (4 Vans), Thailand (1 Truck), Japan (1 Van), Pakistan (1 Van) and Saudi Arabia.

    During 2009, we will once again replicate this successful initiative throughout
    Europe and North America.

    The “Knowledge on the Move” agenda includes a half-day classroom session


    (3 hours) discussing topics such as:

    • Basic bearing mounting (force and temperature methods)


    • Lubrication basics
    • Food and beverage industry solutions

    The classroom instruction is followed by hands-on demonstration of basic


    maintenance techniques such as alignment, mounting and dismounting of
    bearings using the demonstration kits on the maintenance van.
