Project action plan and timetable:

This section provides you with an opportunity

to outline your planning and organisation
over a period of weeks and the activities you
will need to carry out in order to successfully
complete your project in the agreed time
frame. The more time and thought you give to
planning your project, the more successful it is

It is important that you consider how you will

balance ambition, time and realism in the
realisation of the project. You should also
include what you are going to do, how you
will do it and by when. Remember to include:
time spent sourcing materials and other
resources to conduct research, feedback from
tutors and peers, and when you will carry out
independent study.

Bibliography (Harvard Format):

This section provides an opportunity to record

the initial research sources, both primary and
secondary, that you intend to use.

Your sources of research should be as wide

as possible and could include libraries,
galleries, books, magazines, films, computer
games, websites, blogs, social media, radio
programmes, archive material etc. Where
appropriate, you should use the Harvard
system of referencing. The bibliography
should be continuously updated as the
project progresses.

Pathway
Radio

Project Title
Final Major Project

Section 1: Rationale
(approx. 150 words) Throughout the past 2 units of the qualification, I have been able to learn more
about the media industry as a whole, the one that has stuck out to me the most
has been creating audio products, which is why I have once again decided to
create a radio show for my final major project. I have gained more knowledge
about how the radio industry works, this includes the information that I have
found of from Unit 12 of this course, I discovered that radio does have a future
in the digital age, this is something that I wanted to find out because I am
wanting a job in the radio industry in the future and want to know if it is going to
be a steady pathway. I have also learnt more about different softwares like
premiere pro which I can use to edit features and jingles, all the information
can be used towards this project to create a successful and professional final
product.

Section 2: Project
Concept The main aim of this project is to create a professional and successful talk and
(approx. 200 words) music radio programme. To do this, I will be researching more about the radio
industry and how to make a successful radio programme. I am wanting to
broadcast this show on Radio Warrington so I will have to research this station
as well to find out more about the content that they produce. I can already use
my pre-existing interview with a Radio 1xtra producer where I asked Him ‘what
makes a successful radio show’, this can give me more of a guide in the
direction that I need to go. Throughout this unit, I will be using different types
of equipment including a new audio interface that I haven’t got previous
experience with at Radio Warrington. Throughout this unit, I am wanting to get
feedback from members of my target audience at all points, this means that I
will be able to complete my goal of making an informative and entertaining
programme that reaches my target audience. I am keeping myself to a strict
schedule to make sure that every task is completed on time during this project,
this can confirm that I will meet the deadlines and have everything ready for
the radio show itself.

Section 3: Evaluation
(approx. 150 words) Throughout this project, I will be doing a reflective diary for each task, this will
reflect on the skills that I used to complete the task, how I found it and also
how it will help me when it comes to creating my final radio show. I will also be
writing evaluations at crucial times throughout the project, this will be after
major steps like the research stage, the pre-production stage, the production
stage and the post-production stage. I will finish off the project with one last
evaluation, this will evaluate the entire project and how successful I think it
was. I will also work in collaboration with members of my target audience
throughout to get feedback on my project, I will be evaluating this and then
making the changes that my target audience wants me to make, this is all in
the goal of making the final product appealing to my target audience,
