4.1 Introductory Activity The teacher will present picture with follow up
(5 minutes) questions.

Guided Questions:
Imagine yourselves in front of the flagpole
forming lines for the flag ceremony.

A. How should you form your lines?


B. Why do we always have to form our
lines in orderly manner?
C. What will happen if we don’t form our
line properly?

4.2 Activity
(5 minutes) Review Game: “What am I”

The teacher will present illustrations and its


definition.

a. I have no endpoint and I can go on and on


in opposite directions. (line)
b. I start out at a point and can be extended
in one direction. (ray)
c. I am part of a line with 2 endpoints. (line-
segment)

Question: Why do we need to know the


differences among these three?
4.3 Analysis The teacher will present the topic
(15 minutes)
Different Kinds of Lines

Parallel lines
- Go in exactly the same direction. They
always have the same distance between
them and never meet at any point at all.

Example:

(tell students to give their own example)


HOW TO DRAW THESE LINES?

Using a RULER and a SET SQUARE.

Ruler can be defined as a tool or device used to


measure length and draw straight lines.

Set Square is usually plastic or metal device that


is shaped like a triangle and used for drawing
straight lines and angles.

NOTE: When creating a line, use a small letter


to name a line.
Example:

(10 minutes), Group Activity:
1. Draw and name an object that represent a
kind of lines and explain why you consider
it as parallel, intersecting or perpendicular
lines

2. Cite at least two examples that lines plays


an important role in real life situations.

4.5 Application Game: “Fall in Line”


(10 minutes)
Directions: Tell whether the presented illustration
is a parallel, intersecting or perpendicular line by
falling in line in the correct column in mannerly
way.

Test I. Draw the three kinds of lines with its
name. (10 points)
Test II. Identify the different kinds of lines in the
figure below. Write your answer on the space
provided. (2 points each item)
