3. recognize the importance of teachers’ assuming responsibility for personal growth and professional development
for lifelong learning.
LEARNING OVERVIEW
This activity will include lectures in the form of a seminar-workshop. It will focus on community linkages,
teacher’s personal and professional attributes and development, and the importance of their involvement to research
and extension activities. The 21st century skills of a teacher which now he/she engages in, develop/posses will be given
emphasis.

Give at least five social roles and functions of a teacher. Describe how they are done.
1. Improving Social Skills - providing structured scenarios in which the students can act
out and offer immediate feedback.
2. Role Model - being a role models to children, offer guidance and dedication and give
young people the power of education.
3. Educating Students – educate or cultivate emotional and spiritual socio-cultural
values in the educational process.
4. Social Responsibility - instilling in their pupils a sense of empathy and compassion
for all people, not just their peers.
5. Social Transformation - foster a welcoming attitude in their students because they
have the power to change society through their students.
In the first step of his research, Mr. Lagoy identifies the current solid waste
management issues, adds objectives, and formulates research questions. He
read different literature review about solid waste management to understand
existing knowledge and identify gaps. After that, a research design is created,
detailing the procedures for gathering and evaluating data. Surveys and
observations are used to acquire data. His findings are then interpreted in the
context of the research questions, and then conclusions are drawn.

Yes, having a supportive environment students feel connected to their communities and having
school-community engagement significantly influences their educative process. This kind of
involvement prepares students to engage in society actively and intelligently by fostering
teamwork and critical thinking.
How do personal and professional skills of a teacher help in preparing his/her tasks/functions?
Having strong personal and professional skills is very important when preparing or
implementing a task or activity. It results in more organized and effective lesson. Aside from
that, it enhances the positive learning atmosphere and classroom management that are crucial
for supporting student achievement.

My top priority must be to use meetings to establish relationships with local leaders,
parents, and organizations. Secondly, in order to function well in the community, I
would actively listen, build trusting relationship, and show that I genuinely care about
comprehending and resolving issues in the community while utilizing local resources
to improve my students educational experiences.
2. Do you have any advice about how to invite stakeholders to engage in school-
community projects/activities?
Of course, before contacting the stakeholders you must prepare first the clear
outline purpose and benefits of the school-community projects/activities. Pinpoint
how their presence or participation can help to achieve the goal and enhance
community cohesion. Aside from that, prepare multiple online platforms for
informational meetings to ensure perfect planning and inclusivity for all potential
stakeholders.
