Intended Learning Outcomes

At the end of this activity, the FS student must be able to achieve the following intended learning outcomes:

1. identify the social roles and functions of a teacher to promote harmonious relationships with learners, parents,
schools and the wider community;
2. understand and appreciate the importance of School-Community partnership in the educative process; and
3. recognize the importance of teachers’ assuming responsibility for personal growth and professional development
for lifelong learning.

LEARNING OVERVIEW
This activity will include lectures in the form of a seminar-workshop. It will focus on community linkages,
teacher’s personal and professional attributes and development, and the importance of their involvement to research
and extension activities. The 21st century skills of a teacher which now he/she engages in, develop/posses will be given
emphasis.

Observation/Interview

Direction: Read the following items below before doing the indicated tasks.

1. Attend a seminar-workshop to be conducted by the campus.


2. Conduct an interview with a teacher/principal:
a) regarding school-community activities and also his/her personal and professional growth; and
b) who is an awardee/successful. You may ask how his/her educational preparation of experience made
him/her successful in her teaching career. How or why he/she became an awardee.
3. Follow the minimum health protocol at all times.
4. Observe etiquette during the observation and interview process.

How did the teacher conduct his/her action research work?

Ms. Marcel’s research focuses on the numeracy level of Grade 4 learners,


utilizing a numeracy assessment tool provided by the division office. The assessment
reveald a significant portion of learners exhibiting non-numerate tendencies. Also, this
research serves as a vital foundation for future initiatives arried at enhancing numeracy
skills among Grade 4 students, thereby contributing to their overall academic
development.

Describe the extension project the teacher is(was) involve(d).

During the School-Based In-Service Training, Ms. Maricel in the Proponent


and resources speaker for the session, she was responsible for sharing their skills and
knowledge with fellow teachers. As resources speaker, she played a crucial role in
enhancing their co-teachers’ abilities to integrate multimedia into teaching.

Does school-community engagement influence the educative process? Justify your answer.

Yes, the school-community engagement can influence the educative process because it is enhancing the
educational experience through engaging them to the real-world situation. It has a significant impact on
the educative process as it creates a mutually beneficial relationship between the school and community.
And it can benefits too by improving student outcomes, sharing resources and expertise, promoting career
development, and making a positive impact on the community.

How would you report achievement or results to the bigger community?

For me, To report achievements and results to the larger community, schools can use various methods
like social media by posting it in facebook page of the community events. These approaches help share
accomplishments, engage community members, and showcase the positive impact of the school on the
community.

How do personal and professional skills of a teacher help in preparing his/her tasks/functions?

The personal and professional skills of a teacher that can help in preparing their task functions is the
offer assistance instructors to gotten to be way better at arranging their time and remaining
organized. This eventually makes instructors more productive and gives them additional time to
center on understudies instead of the paperworks. And it also manage the classroom environment,
address diverse student needs, and engage in collaborative efforts. By leveraging these skills,
teachers create a positive and impactful learning experience for their students.

1. As a future teacher, how would you establish good school-community


collaboration? How can you work well in the community?

My goal as a future teacher is to foster a pleasant and supportive school community by


being a good neighbor setting for learning. Additionally, by proactively interacting with
locals and groups to establish connections. This may be going to neighborhood gatherings,
making introductions to taking part in volunteer work or serving as community leaders. By
showcasing my dedication to the community, I may promote open communication and
trust. In order to function effectively in the community, it’s critical to pay attention to
comprehend, and worries of the local populace. Working together with people in the
neighborhood, i can foster a sense of shared accountability and ownership for the school’s
success.

2. Do you have any advice about how to invite stakeholders to engage in school-
community projects/activities?
For me to successfully engage stakeholders, clear and persuasive communication is
imperative. A vital tip or advice is to highlight the purpose and advantages of the
project or activity in a straightforward manner that underscores its positive impact on
both school and community. For various stakeholder groups, it may be beneficial to
customize invitations; for instance when inviting parents one could stress how their
participation will favorably affect their child’s learning experience. It’s essential to
provide pertinent details like date, time, venue,and necessary resources while
expressing appreciation towards every individual’s involvement throughout this
procedure remains equally crucial.

3. In the future, how will you enhance your personal and professional development?

My aim for the future is to enhance my personal and professional development. This will
be accomplished by continuously seeking new knowledge and skills while staying informed
about advancements in technology, education, as well as other relevant fields. Besides that,
I shall engage in self-reflection whilst actively seeking feedback from peers to improve
performance at work. I also plan on participating regularly in various opportunities for
professional development including workshops, conferences, online courses so that I can
expand my expertise and remain aware of best practices relating to all aspects of my
profession.
