B. MOTIVATION

Again, Good morning, class.

Before I introduce our lesson
for today, I have here a poem
and I want you to share
something about it. Are you
ready?
Students: Yes, teacher!

Nature’s Wonders

Nature's wonders are all around,

In the sky and on the ground.
Mountains tall and oceans wide,
And creatures that make us feel
alive.

Some say the mountains are the

best,
With peaks that reach up to the
crest.
They're tall and grand, and quite
impressive,
And leave us all feeling quite
expressive.

Others say the oceans are where

it's at,
With waves that crash and tides
that go back.
They're deep and wide, and oh
so blue,
And hold so many mysteries
that are new.

Nature's wonders are truly

great,
And we should cherish them
before it's too late.
We must protect the land, the
sky, and sea,
And leave them for future
generations to see.

Comprehension Questions:

What did you all think of the

poem, "Nature's Wonders"?

Student 1: I liked the part about the

mountains, they are really tall and
impressive.

Student 2: I thought the creatures

part was really interesting, there are
so many different kinds of animals in
nature.
That's great! It seems like
everyone had their own favorite
part of the poem. Now, why do
you think it's important to
protect nature's wonders?

Student 3: If we don't protect them,

they might disappear and future
generations won't be able to enjoy
them.
That's right. It's important to
preserve nature's wonders for
future generations to see and
experience. Thanks for your
insights, everyone.

observed; can be found in
dictionary, map, encyclopedia.

An OPINION is only a belief.

like "think," "believe," "feel,"
"probably," or "seems" signal an
opinion.

Qualities of opinions:
has a personal belief, or a claim;
cannot be proven; has emotional
language; tells what someone
thinks, feel, believes.

For example, Parrots are prettier

than blue birds.

between facts and opinions?
Student 3: (stands up) Facts are true
and opinions are personal belief.

That's a good start. Anyone else

has a different answer?
(student 1 raises hand)

I. CLOSING

Alrightclass, before we wrap up

for today, let's do a quick recap
of what we've covered.
Can anyone tell me the
difference between a fact and an
opinion?
A fact is something that can be proven
to be true or false, while an opinion is
a belief or personal view that cannot
be proven.

Excellent! Can you give me an

example of a fact? Student 1: The earth revolves around
the sun.

Great! And how about an

example of an opinion? Student 2: I think pizza is the best
food in the world.

Perfect. Now, why is it

important to know the
difference between facts and
opinions? Student 3: Because it helps us
understand what information we can
trust and what is just someone's
personal belief.

Exactly. It's important to be able

to differentiate between
objective truth and subjective
opinions. And remember, just
because something is an opinion
doesn't mean it's not valuable or
important. It just means we
need to recognize it for what it
is. Student 4: Got it, teacher!
