B. During Reading
- Silent, read aloud, taped, choral reading, part-by-part, etc.

C. Post Reading
1. Engagement Activity
- Motive question should be the first question to be asked, after which logically arranged but not very detailed questions
that will lead to the core message of the story shall follow (use of Gradual Psychological Unfolding or GPU) where
the answer to a question is the basis for framing the next question
- Should address the HOTS/should be evaluative and integrative in character
- Last question should surface the core message (allow students to express how to apply message to their own lives)
2. Literary Extenders
- Are the readers’ creative, artistic and dramatic interpretation of the selection
- May come in the forms of one or two of any of the following activities: dramatic reading readers’ theater: role play,

- Five to ten items, text-based; based on target reading skills
- Should close with a generalization which highlights how the skill is developed (explanation should be drawn from
students)
4. Across the Curriculum
- Maybe a question or one very light activity which will relate/link the lesson with other learning areas
5. Evaluation
- Five to ten items on the same reading skill using another text/selection
IV. ASSIGNMENT
- When reading skill is (a) not mastered – another reading text developing the same skill through different activities
should be given as assignment; (b) fairly mastered – reinforcement drill/activity for the same skill should be given, say,
a grammar lesson as offshoot of the read or lesson
