TITLE

Transforming Barangay Borabod: A Community-Driven Clean-up Initiative

SOCIOLOGICAL BASIS

The project is based on emphasizing the importance of community integration and

collaborative work towards producing sustainable change. Influenced by
sociological concepts of community development and social assets, the initiative
recognizes that developments over time result from community members'
involved engagement and collaborative efforts. By fostering an understanding of
environmental responsibility, the effort hopes to strengthen social relationships,
boost community resilience, and foster a deep feeling of belonging among people.
The project aims to address environmental concerns and foster a more sustainable
and equitable community by utilizing participatory decision-making procedures
and collaboratively solving issues. Crucial to this undertaking is the fostering of
social responsibility. Cultivating social responsibility and facilitating collective
action are crucial to this commitment. In sociology, the concept of community is
fundamental to understanding the nature of human connection and collaboration
in social growth. The concept draws into people' basic sense of community and
belonging by organizing a barangay-wide clean-up drive. Its primary goal is to
promote a sense of pride and ownership in the barangay, encouraging citizens to
actively engage in preserving the cleanliness and life of their surroundings. The
initiative's coordinated efforts aim not just to improve the natural surroundings,
but also to foster a strong feeling of community identity and responsibility among
residents.

LEGAL BASIS

The planned project's legal basis is existing trash legislation. Management and
protection of the environment. It recognizes the necessity for defined regulations,
enforcement methods, and community adherence to established standards. The
idea is consistent with national and municipal regulations aimed at addressing
environmental issues and improving public health standards. To prevent improper
garbage disposal, communities may organize cleanup campaigns in areas where
suitable waste management facilities are unavailable. These projects, which may
include volunteers, non-governmental groups, and community members, may be
funded by a local government unit.

DETAILS (Part by Part)

I Introduction

The effects of ignoring our surroundings have become very evident in the current
day. What used to be a world of clean rivers, green plants, and fresh air has given
place to a landscape of smog-filled sky, concrete jungles, and tainted skies.
Human activity is frequently the primary source of these environmental problems,
especially careless garbage disposal and widespread deforestation.

But once people realize how serious these problems are, a determination to make
changes as a group develops. As we are CNSC students, we are aware of how
urgent the situation is and are driven to act. Our program aims to not only lessen
the negative impacts of pollution and deforestation in our local area but also to set
an example for Global environment protection.

Our initiative's primary goal is to create a harmonic balance between ecological

preservation and urban development. Through the use of creative solutions and
the cultivation of an environmentally conscious culture, our goals are to recover
lost green areas, revitalize damaged ecosystems, and advance sustainable lifestyle
choices. We hope to encourage people and communities all around the world to
stand with us in the battle against environmental degradation through cooperative
efforts and community engagement.

Barangay Borabod, like many communities around the world, faces the daunting
challenge of environmental degradation. From litter-strewn streets to polluted
waterways, the signs of this degradation are all too visible in our daily lives.
However, amidst these challenges lies an opportunity for transformation – an
opportunity for Barangay Borabod to come together as a community and take
meaningful action to restore and preserve our environment.

In order to meet this essential need, we propose implementing "Transforming

Barangay Borabod: A Community-Driven Clean-up Initiative." This initiative is
more than simply a series of clean-up events; it is a call to action for all residents
to become active caretakers of our environment. By utilizing the collective
strength of our community, we hope to not only clean up our surroundings but
also foster an awareness of pride and ownership in our common areas.

Ultimately, our initiative is a global commitment to protecting the environment

for present and future generations, not only a local project. Let's work together to
create a day when everyone may enjoy pure air, untouched landscapes, and a
wealth of species.

II. PURPOSE

Our project intends to address recycling and trash reduction while encouraging
environmental responsibility. Tree planting projects in nearby barangays are
funded by the materials we gather and sell to waste shops, including recyclable
plastics and metals. This two-pronged strategy helps create a brighter future while
at the same time cleaning up the environment. Our goal is to increase public
knowledge of the effects of everyday trash production and the possibilities for
reuse through recycling. To promote involvement, we use persuasive techniques.

III. PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Through collection and sale to junk merchants, our little competition encourages
every street in the barangay of Borabod to preserve cleanliness and reduce waste.
Participation is required from the locals, and each day, points are awarded to the
barangay that is cleaner. Consistent work is encouraged due to, at the end of the
month, the street with the most points wins a prize.

Waste sales revenue is combined each day to buy seedlings, which are then
equally divided among the barangays for planting in shared spaces. The cycle of
environmental betterment is reinforced by this comprehensive method, which
combines fundraising, clean-up campaigns, and tree planting.

By encouraging trash management skills, particularly in young people, and

imparting a sense of responsibility towards the environment, this effort directly
helps the local population. While planting trees offers practical experience in
maintaining green spaces, participation also teaches recycling and segregation
skills. Through these programs, residents learn the value of environmental
conservation and actively contribute to a sustainable future.

IV. OBJECTIVES
"Transforming Barangay Borabod: A Community-Driven Clean-up Initiative"
seeks to increase environmental consciousness in many areas. The following lists
the extra goals of our program:

 To promote environmental awareness.

 Encourage the residents about proper waste segregation.
 Improve the outdoor recreational activities of the residents of Barangay
Borabod, Camarines Norte
 To promote waste reduction, recycling and reuse and create public
awareness on waste management and environmental concerns.
 Inform the residents to know the importance of cleaning the environment.
 Teach fun and easy way of recycling plastic materials.

V METHODOLOGY
The key strategy for the project's progress is the division of labor and concrete
work plan. The team has the following strategies to accomplish that:

 The team is divided into three groups (in accordance to the activity) and is
then again subdivided into factions (documentation, logistics and
communication) in which every member has assigned tasks so that the
project will work efficiently.
 The Clean-Up Drive activity will be done around the month of May. The
street of the barangay with the cleanest surroundings will receive an award
and a banner for recognition.
 With the clean-up drive activity, the collected funds from selling waste
materials will be used in buying plants and seedlings for the tree planting
activity.
 The tree planting will be held at different street in the barangay.
 The team will also make call for donations to raise funds.

students from Camarines Norte State College and community leaders, to address
waste management challenges in the community and promote environmental
awareness. The plan calls for planning cleanup initiatives to remove litter from
public areas, putting recycling programs into place to reduce down on waste, and
