TARE This is the gross weight of the feeder without material.
This value can be entered in engineering units from the
keypad as well as being entered automatically by doing
the Auto Tare. Record this value in case the battery fails
or SCM Controller Pc is replaced.

SFT TYPE This variable displays the range of the selected SFT.
Scale range is the sum of the required SFT,s.
SFT STATUS This display indicates the operating status of the SFT.
Normally shows the number 1 or 3.

3. CALIBRATIONS
3.1 WEIGHT CALIBRATION
Most of the Hasler's feeders are equipped with load cells completely digital (SFT); they
are already calibrated in the factory, so there is no need to calibrate once again. Only a
compensation of the load system tare is necessary.
The purpose of the weight calibration is to make the numerical measurement of the load
of material correspond to a known reference value.
Weight is measured by the force which the mechanical weigh exerts against a strain
gauge load cell. The load cell converts this mechanical force into an electrical signal
which represents the magnitude of the force. The electric signal is transmitted to the
Converter and SCM by shielded cables. The converter amplifies the signal and converts
it into a numerical value (the load cell acquisition) the range of the a-d converter is 0 to
65536 pts.

Remark: To prevent a voltage drop in the load cell power supply wires from affecting
the weight measurement, a 6 wire connection as described below should be used : 2
power supply wires (5 and 6), 2 power supply return wires (1 and 3) for measuring the
voltage actually applied to the load cell feeder and 2 measuring wires (2 and 4).

The weight calibration has already been done in the factory during the final control of
the installation. It is not necessary to repeat it.
However, if the installation has received mechanical shock during transport (the
weighbridge), and/or after the following maintenance operations have been done such
as :
ATTENTION : before every intervention on the feeder, switch off the main switch
of the feeder's motor speed controller.
3. Is the belt empty ? or hopper empty ? If not, close the manual material feed gates
and empty the belt or hopper using the function "Emptying" or "Empty Fdr Now".
4. On belt weighfeeder have the weighbridge idlers been aligned. If not, align them
according to the "GRAVIT, Weighing option" instructions.
5. Is the reference weight ready near to the feeder. Be sure that this reference weight
corresponds to the weight entered into the parameter "CAL. WGT".
If all of the above conditions have been fulfilled, proceed with the weight calibration.
The ->TARE<- indicator of the console will go off. The calibration is ended.
After each weight calibration or whenever you wish to check the accuracy of the weight
measurement follow the procedure described below.
Place the reference weight or another known weight on the weighing idler, this weight
should be in equilibrium in the idler, or put the weight on the hopper.
Read the indication of the net weight placed on the idler or hopper. The difference
between these two weights should be equal to the weight placed on the idler or hopper.
