4a. Show that Rmax = u² /g(1 ± sinβ), where u = velocity of projection, β = inclined angle between
plan and horizontal.

4b. A projectile is launched with an initial speed of 200 m/sec at an angle of 60ᴼ with respect to the
horizontal as shown in FIGURE - 4a. Compute the range ‘R’ as measured up the incline.

4c. Find the tangential and normal acceleration components of a moving particle in
curvilinear path.

4d. The rotation of the 3 meters arm ΄OA΄ as shown in FIGURE-4d, is defined by the
relation θ = 0.20t², where ΄θ΄ is expressed in radian and t in second. Block ΄B΄ slides along
the arm in such a way that its distance from ΄O΄ is r = 3 - 0.40t², where ΄r΄ is expressed in
metre and ΄t΄ in second. Dtermine the total velocity and acceleration of block ΄B΄ after arm
΄OA΄ has rotated through 30ᴼ. Also draw the F. B. D. of this system.

string, find the power development by the force when t = 5 seconds.

parallel to the plane. If the initial velocity of the body is 1.5 m/s and coefficient of friction is
µ = 0.2, what velocity will the body have after moving 6 m? (Use work-energy method)
