Travel Speed - Check

SMCS - 7000-535-V6

Personal injury or death can result from sudden machine

movement.

Sudden movement of the machine can cause injury to

persons on or near the machine.

To prevent injury or death, make sure that the area around

the machine is clear of personnel and obstructions before
operating the machine.

Personal injury can result from rotating and moving parts.

Moving fan blades and moving parts will throw or cut any
object or tool that falls or is pushed into them.

Make sure no one is working on, underneath or close to an

engine that is running. Make sure the area is free of
personnel.

1. Establish a 30.5 m (100 ft) straight speed test course. Make sure that the course provides
sufficient distance for the machine to reach full speed before it passes the starting line
and sufficient distance for the machine to be stopped after the finish line is passed. The
course should have no slope. The course should be over a hard or firm surface.

2. Drive the machine to the test area.

3. Move propel lever (1) to the NEUTRAL position.

4. Move parking brake switch (2) to the ON position.

Illustration 2 g02874821

5. Operate the engine at low idle for a few minutes. Use throttle control switch (3) in order
to operate the engine in high idle.

Note: Two things indicate when the engine is at high idle. First, "High Idle" will appear on
the display. Second, the third LED next to throttle control switch (3) will be illuminated.

6. Monitor the hydraulic oil temperature with Tool (F). Operate the machine until the oil
temperature reaches 49 ± 6 °C (120 ± 10 °F).

7. Use propel mode switch (4) in order to shift the propel motors into the HIGH SPEED
position.

Note: Two things indicate when the propel motors are in the HIGH SPEED position. First,
"Propel Mode High" will appear on the display. Second, two LEDs next to propel mode
switch (4) will be illuminated.

8. Use increase speed switch (5) in order to set the propel speed to 100 percent.

Note: Two things indicate when the propel speed is set to 100 percent. First, "Speed
Control % 100" will appear on the display. Second, seven LEDs next to increase speed
switch (5) will be illuminated.

9. Move parking brake switch (2) to the OFF position.

10. Back up the machine far enough to reach full speed before the start line.

11. Time the machine through the 30.5 m (100 ft)course. Acceptable travel time is 10 ± 1 sec.

12. Repeat the test in reverse. The forward and reverse times should be within 1 second of
each other.

13. Use propel mode switch (4) in order to shift the propel motors into the LOW SPEED
position.
Note: Two things indicate when the propel motors are in the LOW SPEED position. First,
"Propel Mode Low" will appear on the display. Second, one LED next to propel mode
switch (4) will be illuminated.

14. Repeat the test in forward and reverse. Acceptable travel time in forward is 20 ± 1
second. The forward and reverse travel times should be within 1 second of each other.

15. Drive the machine to a smooth, horizontal surface.

16. Move propel lever (1) to the NEUTRAL position.

17. Move parking brake switch (2) to the ON position.

18. Use throttle control switch (3) in order to operate the engine in ECO mode or in low idle.

Note: Two things indicate when the engine is in ECO mode. First, "ECO" will appear on
the display. Second, the second LED next to throttle control switch (3) will be illuminated.
Two things indicate when the engine is at low idle. First, "Low Idle" will appear on the
display. Second, the first LED next to the throttle control switch will be illuminated.

19. Move engine start switch (4) to the OFF position.
