“SPECTRE”

The familiar gun barrel opens to:

EXT. BUILDING - SAN FRANCISCO - DAY

The sunlight bathes the streets of San Francisco.

A bald man wearing a grey nehru suit walks out the

front door. This is Ernst Stavro Blofeld.

Blofeld stops at the edge of the pavement. He

searches the street, but doesn’t see his car.

EXT. CAR - ALLEY - SIMULTANEOUS

A dark blue Rolls Royce sits in shadow. The driver

is wearing a black suit, a black hat, and black

gloves. He starts the car.

A shadowy figure from the back seat garrotes him.

The driver struggles and dies. The shadowy figure

pulls the body to the backseat.

He takes the driver’s hat and gloves and puts them

on. The shadowy figure, also wearing a black suit,

exits the car and and throws the body into an open

dumpster.

He re-enters the car and drives out of the alley.

EXT. BUILDING - MOMENTS LATER

The car pulls up to Blofeld. He enters the backseat.

BLOFELD

You're late, (beat) drive.

The car drives off.

INT. CAR - CONTINUOUS

Blofeld watches as San Francisco whizzes by. He sees

a sign for the Golden Gate Bridge.

BLOFELD

You're going the wrong way.

Suddenly, the shadowy figure speeds up as a glass

partition rises between the front and back seats.

BLOFELD

What the devil are you doing?!

Slow down!

EXT. CAR - SAN FRANCISCO - CONTINUOUS

The car begins weaving around the road. The shadowy

figure goes faster and the car goes airborne over a

steep hill and lands hard on the road.

INT. CAR - CONTINUOUS

Blofeld rolls around the backseat.

BLOFELD

Stop, damn you!

He tries to open the door, but it won’t budge. Blofeld

bangs on the window.

BLOFELD

Stop! Let me out!

EXT. CAR - GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE - CONTINUOUS

The car speeds onto the Golden Gate Bridge. The

shadowy figure continues weaving between cars. He

reaches the middle of the bridge’s span and screeches

to a halt.

INT. CAR - CONTINUOUS

Blofeld is flung forward and smacks his head on the

partition. He is bleeding from his forehead. The shadowy

figure exits the car and opens the door to the backseat.

Blofeld is forcefully pulled out of the car.

EXT. GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE - CONTINUOUS

The shadowy figure leads Blofeld to the edge of the

bridge. They stop and the shadowy figure spins Blofeld

around to look at him.

The shadowy figure removes his hat and Blofeld stares

horrified at his kidnapper’s face. He recognizes the jet

black hair, the blue eyes, and the late 30s face. This is

Bond.

BLOFELD

Mr. Bond!

BOND

This is for Tracy.

Bond shoots Blofeld in the knee. Blofeld screams and

crumples to the ground in agony.

BLOFELD

I'll kill you, Mr. Bond.

Bond grabs Blofeld by his lapel and punches him across

the face. Bond throws him over the edge of the bridge.

Blofeld screams.

BOND

Welcome to hell, Blofeld.

EXT. SAN FRANCISCO BAY - CONTINUOUS

Bond watches Blofeld fall. He crashes hard into the

water. The resulting splash leads into:

MAIN TITLE SEQUENCE featuring “No Good About

Goodbye” sung by Shirley Bassey.

Main title sequence fades to a black screen. Superimposed:

THE DEAD ARE ALIVE. TWO YEARS LATER.

EXT. STREET - MEXICO CITY - LATE AFTERNOON

Camera pans over a parade, complete with giant stylized

skeleton floats. Revelers dance and walk down the street in

all manner of Day of the Dead costumes.

Camera tracks a man, 30s, wearing a skeleton mask and

costume over a dark blue suit. This is Bond.

Bond looks around and continues walking down the street.

He meets a woman wearing a red dress, with Day of the

Dead make up on her face. This is Maria.

Bond stares at her longingly and she leads him through the

parade to the other side of the street.

The pair arrive in front of a hotel and enter.

INT. HOTEL - MEXICO CITY - CONTINUOUS

Continuous tracking shot as Bond and Maria pass through

more revelers and come upon an elevator.

INT. ELEVATOR - CONTINUOUS

Bond and Maria press together and share a kiss as the

elevator ascends. The elevator comes to a stop and Bond

and Maria release each other. Maria pulls Bond through the

door.

INT. HOTEL HALLWAY - CONTINUOUS

Maria stops in front of a room. She turns to face Bond and

stands against the door. She wraps her arms around Bond

who reaches for the doorknob and pushes the door open.

INT. HOTEL ROOM - CONTINUOUS

Maria follows Bond into the room and climbs seductively

onto the bed. She looks towards Bond, but gives off a

puzzled look. Bond has removed the skeleton attire and

mask. He is now simply wearing a dark blue suit and is

carrying a sniper rifle.

MARIA

What are you doing?

BOND

I'll be back soon.

Bond exits through the window and onto a small ledge.

EXT. HOTEL LEDGE - CONTINUOUS

Continuous tracking shot follows Bond as he shimmies

along the ledge on the exterior of the Hotel.

Bond comes to a small gap and jumps across to a full,

open rooftop.

EXT. HOTEL ROOFTOP - CONTINUOUS

Bond hurries toward the edge and kneels down. Bond

raises the sniper rifle and aims it a window on the building

directly in front of him.

There are 2 men sitting in the room. Marco Schiarra in a

white suit and an unknown second man in a dark suit.

Bond removes a radio from his pocket and listens.

SCHIARRA

(in italian)

Did you bring it?

The second man produces a small velvet satchel.

UNKNOWN MAN
(in italian)

The money.

Schiarra places over an attache case on the table. The

unknown man opens the case and examines it.

SCHIARRA

(in italian)

$1 million. It's all there.

UNKNOWN MAN

(in italian)

Good.

SCHIARRA

(in italian)

Hand it over.

The Unknown man hands over the satchel. Schiarra opens

it and looks inside. He closes the satchel and places it

inside his pocket.

Bond readies his weapon to fire. However, a glare from his

scope causes the unknown man to duck.

Bond fires. PFFT! The unknown man is hit in the head and

falls backward, dead. Schiarra ducks and pulls the pin on a

grenade.

BOOM! The grenade explodes, blowing part of the room

outwards towards Bond. He is showered by falling rubble.

Smoke clears and Bond looks around for any sign of

Schiarra. He spots Schiarra, bloodied, running out of the

front of his building.

Bond jumps up and runs over to a ladder, sliding down it.

EXT. ALLEY - CONTINUOUS

Bond reaches the ground and spins around. He searches

for Schiarra and finds him pushing his way through the

crowd of party-goers.

Bond moves to street and pushes his way through,

following Schiarra.

EXT. MEXICO CITY STREETS - CONTINUOUS

Bond pursues Schiarra through the throng of costumed

people. Schiarra glances over his shoulder to search for

Bond.

Bond sees Schiarra looking at him. Both men stop for a

brief moment. Schiarra runs towards Cortez’s garden at

the end of the street.

Bond takes off after him, continuing to push through

people.
EXT. CORTEZ’S GARDEN - CONTINUOUS

Schiarra ducks behind a hedge. Bond loses sight of him.

Bond unholsters his PPK and searches for Schiarra in

the garden.

Bond moves slowly through the garden searching every

corner.

Schiarra raises his gun and watches through the bushes.

He can’t see Bond anywhere. A gun presses into the

back of his head.

BOND

Don't move.

Schiarra raises his hands. Bond takes his gun and holsters

his own PPK. He continues aiming with Schiarra’s luger.

He reaches into Schiarra’s inside pocket and removes the

pouch. He pockets them in his own.

BOOM! CRACK!

The darkened sky illuminates with colors as fireworks

explode overhead. Schiarra uses the distraction and

elbows Bond causing him to drop the gun.

Bond punches back. The two begin fighting hand to hand.

Schiarra reaches for the luger, but it is kicked away by

Bond. Schiarra lunges for Bond and rams him into the
hedges. Bond lets out a groan.

Bond hits Schiarra in the back twice. Schiarra squeezes

Bond harder. Bond swings the two of the them around.

Schiarra’s body collides with a statue causing him to

release his grip. Schiarra winces in pain.

Bond knees him in the groin and punches him. Schiarra

stumbles back. BOOM! CRACK! More fireworks.

Schiarra regains his composure and moves towards Bond.

However, Bond has unholstered his PPK. BOOM! CRACK!

The fireworks cover up the gunshot. Schiarra falls down

dead. Bond checks his pulse. Schiarra is dead. Bond

re-holsters his gun and takes off.

EXT. ALLEY - MOMENTS LATER

Bond slips into an alley illuminated by a streetlight. He

removes the pouch from his pocket and dumps its contents

into his hand: diamonds.

Bond moves them around examining them. They glisten in

the streetlight. He replaces them in their pouch and he leaves

the scene.

EXT. DESERT - SOUTH AFRICA - DUST

Twilight blankets the sprawling desert. A scorpion approaches

a lizard and stings it. The lizard writhes and dies.

Two men, 40s, one lanky and one burly, watch intently. These

are Mr. Wint and Mr. Kidd, respectively.

KIDD

One of nature's finest killers,

Mr. Wint.

WINT

One is never too old to learn

from a master, Mr. Kidd.

Kidd picks up the scorpion and places it in a small, plastic tank.

INT. DENTIST’S OFFICE - JOHANNESBURG - NIGHT

A black man sits in a dentist’s chair. A white man, 50s, balding,

looks into his mouth. This is Dr. Tynan. He extracts a rough

diamond.

He places the diamond into a pouch. He opens a drawer

and removes a British 100 pound note. He wraps it in paper

and hands it to the man, who gets up and leaves.

EXT. DESERT - SOUTH AFRICA - LATER

Wint and Kidd watch as a headlight get closer and closer,

illuminating the darkened desert. The motorcycle comes to

a stop in front of them.

Dr. Tynan dismounts the motorcycle and looks at Wint and

Kidd.

TYNAN

Where's Joe?

WINT

Joe couldn't make it tonight.

I'm Mr. Wint, this is Mr. Kidd.

Dr. Tynan reaches into his shirt for his gun, but relents

when he sees Mr. Kidd holding a box.

He bends down and opens his tail pipe, revealing a pouch.

He presents the pouch to Wint and Kidd.

TYNAN

The diamonds.

Wint takes the pouch. He opens it to see the freshly cut

diamonds gleaming inside. Wint places the pouch into a

box, held by Kidd.

TYNAN

My money?

Wint nods to Kidd who hands him a briefcase.

WINT

It's all there. 50,000 pounds.

Open it and check.

Dr. Tynan acquiesces and opens the case. He doesn’t

notice Kidd circling behind him. Kidd carefully pulls back

Tynan’s collar and drops the scorpion down it.

TYNAN

What are you doing?!

Tynan reaches back, but too late. He convulses and

collapses to the ground, dead.

Wint and Kidd, together, pick up the body and move it

behind a large rock.

Sand and dust kick up as a helicopter arrives. It

descends and lands several yards away.

The pilot exits the helicopter and walks towards Wint

and Kidd. This is Joe.

JOE

Who are you?!

WINT

Dr. Tynan sent us.

KIDD

He was taken ill and couldn't

make it.

WINT
Bitten by the bug. He left this

for you.

Wint presents the box to Joe, who nods and accepts it. He

reenters the helicopter and takes off. Wint and Kidd block

their faces from the sand. The helicopter flies away.

BOOM! The helicopter explodes. Kidd juggles the pouch of

diamonds in his hand.

KIDD

If god had wanted man to fly,

Mr. Wint....

WINT

He would have given him

wings, Mr. Kidd.

Wint and Kidd hold hands and walks away from the scene.

INT. CONVENT - CAPE TOWN - DAY

A nun sits at her desk. She is rifling through various papers.

KNOCK! KNOCK!

NUN

Yes?

Another nun enters.

NUN #2

Two men to see you.

NUN

Send them in.

Nun #2 leaves and in walk Wint and Kidd.

NUN

You're late. Do you have it?

Wint presents the pouch. The nun takes it and walks over

to her bookshelf. She removes a bible and opens it at the

bookmark. The inside has been hollowed out. The nun places

the pouch inside and closes the bible.

NUN

You're dismissed and make sure

to repent on your way out.

WINT

We will, sister. Thank you for your

kindness. We hope you have a safe

drive home.

Wint and Kidd turn and leave. The nun closes the door

behind them.

EXT. CONVENT - LATER

The nun walks to her car. She opens the door and gets

inside. She inserts the key to start the car.

BOOM! The car explodes.

WINT

It’s curious how everyone who comes into contact with

those diamonds seems to (beat) die.

Wint and Kidd look at each and smile. Wint starts their

own car and they drive away.

INT. M’S OFFICE - LONDON - DAY

A man, early 50s, graying hair, sits behind his desk. This

is M. Today’s paper is open in front of him. It reads: “Chaos

in Mexico City.” Bond sits across from him. M looks flustered.

Start anywhere you like 007, but in

five minutes, the PM expects a

phone call and I must inform him why

one of our agents decided to trudge off

to Central America and destroy half a

city block.

BOND

I don't know what you mean sir.

Mexico City. What were you doing

there?
BOND

It's just a coincidence. I was taking

some overdue holiday.

No 007, no more games. Not this

time. The Mexican government is

screaming for reparations. You

undertook an unsanctioned mission.

Bond relents. He reaches into his pocket and removes a

cassette. He hands it to M.

BOND

Play it.

M looks at the cassette and then back to Bond. He places

the cassette into the player on his desk and presses play.

The original M, Miles Massery, begins speaking from the

tape.

MASSERY

007, if you are listening to this, it

means I'm dead and I have failed.

You need to finish what I started.

Trust no one. Find Marco Schiarra.

Find him and kill him. Follow the

diamonds. This is of the utmost

importance.

M presses stop.
M

When did you receive this?

BOND

A few weeks after he died. It

took me two years to find

Marco Schiarra.

Why was he tracking him?

BOND

He's a member of SPECTRE.

SPECTRE? We haven't heard

anything of them since Blofeld's

death.

BOND

He obviously had some sort of

contingency plan for the

organization's survival.

And what did he mean "follow

the diamonds?"

Bond removes a pouch from his pocket. It is the same

pouch he recovered from Mexico City. He hands it to M.

BOND

Schiarra paid $1 million for this. I

took it after I killed him.

M empties the diamonds onto his desk and examines

them.

Where are these from?

BOND

South Africa.

Bond lights a cigarette and explains.

BOND

I researched the diamonds and

discovered they are identical to

ones that are bought and sold at

a boutique in Paris.

Bond removes a photo from his packet and passes it to

M. The photo contains a picture of a man with a similar

physique to Bond.

BOND

Once a month, this man, Peter

Franks enters and leaves like

clockwork.
M

What are you suggesting, 007?

BOND

He is due for a pickup tomorrow.

M puts down the photo and replaces the diamonds in

their pouch. He hands the diamonds to Bond.

You're to go there. Intercept Franks

and assume his identity. Discover the

connection between these diamonds

and SPECTRE.

BOND

Thank you, sir.

Bond crushes out his cigarette and stands up. He nods

and exits through the big red door.

INT. MONEYPENNY’S OFFICE - CONTINUOUS

CLICK! CLACK! Bond sees a woman, Moneypenny,

wearing a white dress, typing away at her desk. Bond

walks over to her and drops the pouch in front of her.

MONEYPENNY

What's this, James?

BOND
Something long overdue.

Moneypenny picks up the pouch and looks into it. She

dumps its contents into her hand.

MONEYPENNY

James, are you asking what I

think you are?

BOND

Nothing would make me jollier.

BEEP! Before Moneypenny can answer, the red light

blinks on her intercom. Moneypenny presses the button.

Bond sighs.

MONEYPENNY

Yes?

M (O.S.)

Please forgo the usual chatter, 007

must report to Q branch immediately.

Moneypenny smiles cheekily.

MONEYPENNY

Of course, sir.

Moneypenny gathers the diamonds back in the pouch.

BOND

We're just not destined for our

final forever.
MONEYPENNY

Only diamonds are forever.

Bond grabs the pouch and walks towards the exit.

INT. Q’S LAB - MOMENTS LATER

Q’s lab bustles with various noises. Everywhere scientists

are working on different gadgets. A man, 50s, sits at a

particularly cluttered desk. This is Q.

Bond enters and walks toward Q’s desk.

BOND

How can you see what you're doing

with all that mess?

The most successful people are

generally disorganized.

Q stands up.

Follow me, 007.

Bond follows Q to a room on the otherside of the lab.

They enter.

INT. Q’S MEDICAL ROOM - CONTINUOUS

The room contains a chair and table with a large

contraption on it opposite a screen.

BOND

What's this Q?

Have a seat, please.

Bond acquiesces.

Open your mouth.

Q puts on rubber gloves. He picks up a tooth cap.

BOND

M's orders?

Yes.

Q places the tooth cap on Bond’s molar and grabs a tool

that looks like a small hammer.

Now you might feel a slight--

Bond lets out a scream. Q smashes the toothcap down.

Pinch.

Q presses a button on the desk and a photo is taken. An

x-ray of Bond’s head appears on the screen in front of them.

A tiny device is visible on his back molar.

I call it the Q-tracker.

BOND

Of course you do.

Bond stands up.

This way.

Bond follows Q back out to the lab.

INT. Q’S LAB - CONTINUOUS

Bond and Q arrive at Q’s desk. Q picks up a small inkpad.

Now pay attention, a simple inkpad--

Bond cuts him off.

BOND

I'm familiar with that device.

Not one that makes an exact silicone

copy of one's fingerprints. Simply

push down on the pad here, close,

and voila!

Q demonstrates with his own fingerprint. A small

silicone print slides out. He hands it to Bond.

Apply that to your finger and it will

fool, most tests.

BOND

Most tests?.

All tests.

BOND

I feel like we should talk about

the most.

Do you want it or not?

Q hands Bond the inkpad. He hits a button on his desk. A door starts to open on the otherside of Q’s lab.
Bond turns around. A grey 1971 Aston Martin DBS Vantage is visible.

Your new car. Aston Martin DBS

Vantage. All the usual refinements,

bulletproof glass, run-flat tires,

ejector seat. Switches here.

Q reaches into the car and points to the center console.

Q

Press this button and you will engage

the rear afterburners. Ensure there is

much space between you and

anything else as they run pretty hot.

Also, make sure you're wearing your

seat belt.

Q stands up.

BOND

Anything else, Q?

You can have this.

Q hands Bond a watch.

BOND

Another watch? What does it do?

It tells the time.

Bond rolls his eyes.

Be careful though, the alarm is

guaranteed never to wake up

anybody who uses it. If you

know what I mean.

BOND

I think I do.

Bond winds the watch and puts it on.

Now 007, I would tell you to bring

everything back in pristine order.

But I know I would just be

disappointed.

BOND

You know me so well.

Q shrugs and walks off.

END: ACT I

EXT. APARTMENT BUILDING - PARIS - DAY

A wide shot of Paris pans to Bond sitting in his Aston Martin.

He is watching the building across the street. A car parks in

front and a man exits. The man has similar features to Bond.

This is Peter Franks.

Bond exits his own car and hurries over to the other side of the

road. Franks opens the door and enters. Bond slides in just

before the door closes.

INT. APARTMENT GROUND FLOOR - CONTINUOUS

Franks stands next to the lift. Bond walks up and stops next

to him.

DING! The lift doors open and Bond attempts to enter at the

same time as Franks. They both stop.

FRANKS

Pardon me.

Bond allows him to pass and follows him in.

BOND

You iz English? (beat) I speak ze

English. Who ist you floor?

Bond mimics a German accent.

FRANKS

3.

Bond presses 3 and the doors close. The lift begins to move.

DING! The lift arrives at the third floor and the doors open.

Franks moves past Bond into the hall. Bond follows.

Franks walks to his apartment and opens the door. However,

he doesn’t fully close it.

Bond withdraws his PPK and pushes the door open.

INT. FRANKS’S APARTMENT - CONTINUOUS

The room is fairly bland with a couch against the wall, a coffee

table, and a table against the wall with a phone and a tray with

cognac and a few glasses.

Bond enters and shuts the door behind him.

FRANKS

Hands up.

Franks appears behind Bond holding a knife to Bond’s neck.

Bond complies and raises his hands.

Franks takes the PPK and tosses it on the couch.

FRANKS

Now on your knees.

Bond does nothing.

FRANKS

On your knees!

Bond spins around and punches Franks, before Franks can

react. Bond tries to grab the knife, but Franks resists.

They struggle. Franks kicks Bond who stumbles towards the

table with the phone. Franks taunts Bond with the knife.

Franks lunges at Bond who dodges the attack. Bond grabs

the phone and smashes Franks in the head. Franks stumbles

backwards, bloodied.
Bond wraps the phone cord around Franks’s neck and slams

him into the coffee table. SMASH!

The glass breaks and Franks lays on his side, unmoving.

BOND

You shouldn't play with knives.

Bond kneels down next to Franks, pulling out the inkpad.

He grabs Franks’s right hand and presses the fingers into

the ink. He drops Franks’s hand and closes the inkpad. A

silicone fingerprint slides out the bottom.

Bond takes it and applies it to his thumb. He stands up and

walks to the door. However, he stops and turns around.

He walks to the table with the cognac. He removes the cork

and pours himself a dram.

He raises the glass to Franks.

BOND

To good health.

Bond downs the drink and replaces the glass on the table,

before exiting the apartment.

EXT. BEAUFORT DIAMANTS - PARIS - DAY

Wide shot of Les Champs Elysees with L’Arc de Triomphe

in the background. Bond’s Aston Martin comes to a stop in

front of a shop with the sign reading: BEAUFORT DIAMANTS.

Bond exits the car. He buttons his jacket and enters the shop.

INT. BEAUFORT DIAMANTS - CONTINUOUS

Bond enters the shop. Glass cases line the wall. A floating

island sits in the middle with more glass cases. A young,

attractive, brown haired woman stands behind the counter. This

is Tiffany Case.

TIFFANY

Can I help you?

Tiffany has an American accent. Bond walks over to her.

BOND

I'm certain you can, miss?

TIFFANY

Case, Tiffany Case.

BOND

Tiffany.

TIFFANY

That's Miss Case to you.

BOND
Named for Tiffany and Co.?

Tiffany has a look of scorn on her face.

TIFFANY

My mother went into labor while

my parents were searching for

engagement rings. What do you

need?

BOND

My name is Franks, Peter Franks.

I am looking for something for my

companion.

TIFFANY

Your wife?

Bond tenses up.

BOND

Mistress.

TIFFANY

Typical man. And what does your

mistress like?

BOND

A ring.

TIFFANY
Of course, sir.

Tiffany reaches under the case and pulls out a small metal box.

She places it on the counter.

Bond opens the box touching it with his fake fingerprints. The

diamond ring inside glistens in the light. He shuts the box.

BOND

It's nice, but do you have

anything more (beat) rough?

Tiffany stares at him with utter contempt.

TIFFANY

I'll check the back.

Tiffany grabs the box and walks towards the door in the back

corner of the shop. She passes through the door, slamming it

behind her.

Bond scopes out the rest of the room.

INT. BACKROOM - CONTINUOUS

Tiffany enters a cluttered backroom. She places the box on a

table and opens a nearby toolbox. She takes out a spray and

sprays the box. She follows by peppering it with some talcum

powder.

Next, she takes a brush and removes the excess powder

leaving a clearly defined thumb print. She places the box on the
table next to a shutter.

She presses a button on the shutter and a photo is taken. The

photo prints out from the camera.

Tiffany takes the photo and inserts it into a projector next to the

toolbox. She turns off the light switch. Illuminated in front of her

are two large thumb prints, one of Peter Franks and one of Bond.

They are identical.

Tiffany grabs a pistol from the toolbox. She turns and walks out of

the room.

INT. BEAUFORT DIAMANTS - CONTINUOUS

Tiffany walks back into main room and to the counter. She raises

the gun to Bond.

TIFFANY

Where are the diamonds?

BOND

Only interested in the climax. My

kind of lady.

Tiffany pulls back the hammer.

BOND

Easy, Miss Case.

Bond reaches into his jacket pocket and removes the diamond
pouch.

TIFFANY

Bring it here.

Bond begins walking over, but feigns dropping the pouch. He

bends down to pick it up.

BANG! CRUNCH! Tiffany fires at Bond, but misses shattering

a glass case behind him. Bond pops up and fires back. BANG!

BANG! He deliberately misses her, instead hitting the case

around her.

Tiffany ducks down behind the counter. She hears footsteps

moving. She pops up and scans the room, but doesn’t see

Bond.

Bond grabs her from behind and bends her over pressing her

face into the intact glass counter. Tiffany screams.

BOND

That wasn't very nice.

TIFFANY

Go to hell, you misogynistic pig.

She tries to lift her hand with the gun. Bond grabs her arm.

BANG! BANG! She fires two shots that fly in random

directions. Bond slams her wrist against the counter causing

her to drop the gun.

BOND

Where are the diamonds going?

Bond twists her arm and Tiffany winces in pain.

TIFFANY

You already know that, Franks.

BOND

Humor me.

Bond twists her arm further and she starts to cry. She relents.

tiffany

Marco Schiarra.

BOND

Schiarra is dead.

TIFFANY

They are choosing his successor

tonight.

BOND

Where?

Tears roll down Tiffany’s face.

TIFFANY

Le Palais Garnier, at midnight.

Bond releases his grip on Tiffany and helps her stand up.
Bond paces and thinks. Tiffany rubs her arm, where Bond

twisted it.

BOND

Where do you deliver the

diamonds to Schiarra?

TIFFANY

Las Vegas, the Shady Tree.

Bond holsters his PPK and

re-buttons his jacket. He turns

to leave.

BOND

Thank you, Miss Case.

Bond walks through the damaged shop and out the front door.

Tiffany collapses to the floor and cries.

EXT. LE PALAIS GARNIER - PARIS - NIGHT

Aerial shot of Le Palais Garnier illuminated against the

darkened Parisian skyline. Bond’s Aston Martin arrives onto

the crowded street. He parks the car in an empty space and

shuts it off.

INT. BOND’S CAR - CONTINUOUS

Bond opens the glove box. He pulls out a silencer and

unholsters his PPK. He attaches the silencer and reloads the

gun with a new clip. He places the old clip in the glove box

and re-holsters his weapon.

He pulls a cord on the passenger seat, lifting it up. Bond takes

a grappling hook from the opening and replaces the seat. He

exits the car.

EXT. LE PALAIS GARNIER - CONTINUOUS

Bond ducks down to between the Aston and another vehicle

surveying the scene. Several guards are posted at the entrance.

Bond slowly moves to his right toward the side of the building.

Bond stops in front of a solid wall. Guards stand beside the

columns on the building’s front. Bond readies the grappling hook.

POP! The hook launches and catches the side of the railing

above Bond. Bond hides in the shadows.

A guard notices and scans the area, but sees nothing and turns

back to what he was doing.

Bond emerges from the shadows and takes a firm grip on the

rope. He climbs up the side of the building.

EXT. PALAIS GARNIER SECOND FLOOR - CONTINUOUS

Bond reaches the top of the ledge and hoists himself through

the opening.

INT. PALAIS GARNIER SECOND FLOOR - CONTINUOUS

The passageway is darkly lit. There is a crowd of people in

front of Bond. He slowly pushes his way through the crowd.

Bond reaches the front of the crowd and is able to see into the

brightly lit room below.

INT. PALAIS GARNIER FIRST FLOOR - CONTINUOUS

There is a long conference table with many people seated

around it. The head seat of the table is empty. The table has a

giant octopus logo on it.

The entire congregation is silent. Two men stand near a large

door at the end of the room with the empty seat.

Bond sees a woman, late 40s, enter. He recognizes her

immediately and tenses up. This is Irma Bunt.

BUNT

All present rise before our great

leader, Dr. Shatterhand.

Everyone in the room stands. They look towards the door

where a silhouetted figure enters.

A man in a wheelchair rolls into the room. A guard removes the

empty chair and the man rolls into it. The man is bald and his

face is obscured in shadow. This is Dr. Shatterhand.

Shatterhand comes to a stop at the table.

BUNT

Be seated.

The congregation sits. Bond stares at Shatterhand.

Bunt bends over. Shatterhand says something to her that is too

low for anyone to hear. He finishes and Bunt stands up to

address the meeting.

BUNT

The meeting is commenced. First

order of business, replacing

SPECTRE number 3, Marco

Schiarra. (beat) Senor Guerra?

A man, blond, 30s, stands up at the end of the table directly

opposite Shatterhand. This is Guerra.

GUERRA

As SPECTRE number 4, I submit

my candidacy to replace the late

Senor Schiarra.

BUNT

You must complete his assignment

and dispose of his killer, MI6 agent,

James Bond.

GUERRA

I've led regime overthrows in South

America and conducted SPECTRE

operations in Africa and Asia. My

loyalty to this organization is

unmatched. I will find Mr. Bond and

I will kill him.

Guerra finishes and waits.

BUNT

Does anyone challenge Senor

Guerra for the position of SPECTRE

number 3?

Two American men, tall and thin, 40s, enter from a door behind

Guerra. They are each wearing a black pin striped suit with a

black fedora, the classic gangster look. These are Jack and

Serrafimo Spang.

The Spang brothers stop next to Guerra. Serrafimo Spang

punches Guerra in the stomach. Guerra winces in pain. Jack

Spang wraps a garrote around Guerra’s neck and pulls it tight.

Guerra tries to fight back, but to no avail. He dies and Jack

lets his grip go. He replaces the garrote in his pocket.

The Spang brothers turn to face Shatterhand and Bunt.

SERRAFIMO

We are Serrafimo and Jack Spang.

We are here to take the positions of

SPECTRE numbers 3 and 4.

There is a short pause.

BUNT

Are there any objections?

The room is silent.

BUNT

Done.

Shatterhand motions for Bunt. She leans over and says

something to him.

BUNT

Dr. Shatterhand says you are to go

to Las Vegas and take over

Schiarra's operation. However, your

first assignment is tonight. It appears

that we have an uninvited guest in

our amidst.

Bond’s eyes get wide.

BUNT

Mr. Schiarra's killer.

Bunt turns to face exactly where Bond is standing on the

second floor. Bond’s eyes lock with hers.

BUNT

Good evening, Mr. Bond. Tell me,

how would you like to die? A little

like your wife perhaps?

Bond immediately turns around to escape, but is stopped by a

burly guard. Bond kicks him in the groin and throws the reeling

man over the railing. THUD! He lands on the table. Bond takes

off running for the window he entered through.

The Spang brothers coolly make their way towards the exit.

EXT. PALAIS GARNIER - CONTINUOUS

Bond arrives outside the window and runs to where he left the

rope. Nothing.

KNOCK! Bond spins around to see two guards push open a

door. He turns and climbs over the railing. He jumps over the

side. THUD! He lands on top of a van parked underneath the

window.

Bond rolls off the van and lands on the ground. He pulls

himself up and unholsters his PPK.

BANG! BANG! He fires two shots and takes off running

in the direction of his Aston Martin.

Bond arrives and quickly enters his car. The car starts
and Bond tears off down the road.

Jack Spang arrives outside the palace and hurries over

to his car, a 1971 Ferrari Daytona. It starts and Jack

speeds after Bond.

EXT. PARIS STREETS - CONTINUOUS

Bond speeds down L’Avenue de Opera. He checks his

rearview mirror to see an orange Ferrari in pursuit.

Bond rips passed parked cars and darkened buildings.

Jack increases his speed in pursuit.

The cars speed down the wide road. Bond glances into

his rearview mirror. He opens the center console

revealing several switches.

He presses the first one labeled “Obscure.” Black smoke

shoots out of the rear of the car, blinding Jack.

Jack weaves back and forth trying to bypass the smoke.

He scrapes cars parked along the road and tears the

mirrors off his car.

The smokescreen runs out as Bond slides around a corner.

The smoke dissipates and Jack sees Bond turn. He follows

down the road.

Bond can’t shake his pursuer. The cars race down the road,

the lights of Paris twinkling behind them.

Jack picks up a lever action shotgun from his seat. He

reaches out the window and fires a shot at Bond.

CRACK! The back windscreen of the Aston Martin cracks.

Jack spins the shotgun to cock it. He fires again, shattering

a brake light.

Bond weaves back and forth on the road trying to avoid the

gunfire. He presses a button raising the rear bullet shield.

Bond looks down and sees a switch labeled afterburner.

BOND

Alright Q, let's see what this one

does.

Before Bond can flip the switch, Jack fires again hitting the

back left tire. Bond slides along the road, fighting for

control. The left rear tire has broken off. Sparks trail behind

Bond.

The Aston bounces off two cars. Bond wrestles with the

traction and recovers a modicum of control. Jack fires

another round, but misses.

Bond flips a switch labeled “Slick.” Oil shoots out from the
back and coats the windscreen of Jack’s car. He engages

the wipers to no avail.

Bond looks to his left to see the river Seine. He thinks to

himself. He turns down a side street and checks him mirror,

no sign of Jack.

Bond whips the car around a corner which slides violently.

He pulls into a dark alley, kills the headlights, and watches

the road.

Jack comes to a stop at an intersection. He’s lost Bond! He

searches around, but sees no trace of Bond.

Bond guns the engine and rips towards Jack. He flips the

“Afterburner” switch. Bond is forced into his seat as the car

screams toward Jack.

Jack looks to his right and sees Bond coming, but too late.

Bond presses a button labeled “Eject.” The roof opens over

Bond’s head and Bond is ejected out of the car.

SMASH! Bond’s car slams into Jack’s. The momentum

pushes the cars through the flood wall and into the Seine.

SPLASH!

The cars sink beneath the water. Jack lies dead in his seat.
Bond’s parachute deploys and he gently floats to the

ground. He lands and releases himself from the seat. He

stands up and straightens his jacket.

A man watches Bond, mouth agape.

BOND

Apologies, I seem to be slightly

late for D-Day.

Bond walks away, smiling.

INT. SHATTERHAND’S OFFICE - PARIS - LATER

The room is dimly lit. Shatterhand sits behind a desk in his

wheelchair. Bunt stands next to him.

Bunt addresses a guard by the door.

BUNT

Send them in.

The guard opens the door and Tiffany Case and a badly

injured Peter Franks enter. They stop in front of

Shatterhand and Bunt.

SHATTERHAND

We had an unexpected guest

tonight. You have failed us.

Bunt looks at Tiffany.

SHATTERHAND

You were visited by a man this

afternoon. Do you his name?

TIFFANY

No, just that it wasn't Peter

Franks.

SHATTERHAND

He is James Bond of the British

Secret Service.

FRANKS

She led him here.

SHATTERHAND

This is true.

Shatterhand motions Bunt to him. She bends down and

listens to him.

SHATTERHAND

You know the penalty for failure.

Tiffany looks terrified. Franks has a smug look on his face.

BANG! Tiffany flinches, but isn’t hit. Franks falls to the floor

dead, shot by the guard at the door.

SHATTERHAND

He allowed Bond to overpower him

and infiltrate our operation.

Tiffany breathes rapidly.

SHATTERHAND

You failed us as well Miss Case.

However, you still have some

usefullness.

TIFFANY

What do you want me to do?

SHATTERHAND

Be Mr. Bond's weakness.

TIFFANY

What do you mean?

BUNT

You're a woman.

SHATTERHAND

Indeed. (beat) You will go Las Vegas.

You will receive further instructions on

where to lead Mr. Bond, when you

arrive.

Tiffany nods. She heads for the door.

SHATTERHAND

Oh and Miss Case...

Tiffany turns back to Bunt.

SHATTERHAND

Fail us again, your punishment will

not be as easy as his.

Tiffany stiffens up.

TIFFANY

Yes, Number 1.

She turns and exits through the door.

EXT. LAS VEGAS - DAY

Establishing shot of Las Vegas showing the strip and the

desert.

EXT. LAS VEGAS AIRPORT - DAY

Bond, smartly dressed, disembarks from his plane carrying a

briefcase and walks towards the terminal. He is stopped by a

tall man wearing a Customs uniform. This is Felix Leiter.

FELIX

Sorry sir, you must submit your

case for inspection.

Bond stops and looks at the man.

BOND

Well, well, Felix Leiter you old fraud.

FELIX

I told you we'd see each other again.

Bond and Felix shake hands. Bond hands his passport over.

Felix reads it.

FELIX

Peter Franks, international diamond

smuggler, sorry trader. Interesting

cover.

Felix opens the case and pretends to inspect it.

BOND

Not much of one, I'm pretty sure

SPECTRE know it's me.

FELIX

Why have they allowed you to come

there then?

BOND

That's the question of the hour, isn't

it?

Felix pauses.

FELIX

Where are the diamonds?

BOND
Alimentary, Dr. Leiter.

Felix gives Bond a disapproving look.

FELIX

I didn't need to know that, James.

Bond reaches into the case and lifts away the false bottom

revealing a black pouch.

BOND

Diplomatic bag.

Felix approves. He shuts the case and returns both the

case and the passport.

FELIX

Everything seems to be in order, Mr.

Franks. Welcome to the United

States.

Bond takes the passport and pockets it. He continues his

trek towards the terminal.

EXT. DEPARTURES - AIRPORT - MOMENTS LATER

Bond emerges from the terminal into the sun-scorched heat

of Las Vegas.

A cab pulls up in front of him. Bond enters the car.

CAB DRIVER

Where to?
BOND

Shady Tree.

The car pulls out of the Las Vegas Airport.

EXT. LAS VEGAS STRIP - DAY

Establishing shot of the Las Vegas strip. Close up of the

“Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” sign. The afternoon sun

bathes the strip as the cab passes by.

The car comes to a stop in front of the Shady Tree casino.

CAB DRIVER

Shady Tree.

BOND

Thank you.

Bond exits the car and pulls some cash from his pocket. He

reaches through the passenger window and pays the cab

driver. Bond turns and walks to the casino entrance.

Back in the car, the cab driver reaches for his radio. He presses

a button on the dash.

CAB DRIVER

He's arrived.

The cab driver replaces the receiver and drives off.

INT. SHADY TREE RECEPTION - MOMENTS LATER

Bond walks through the glamorous lobby of the Shady Tree. He

comes to a stop at the desk, in front of an attractive, dark-haired

receptionist. Her name tag reads PLENTY O’TOOLE.

PLENTY

Good evening sir, welcome to the

Shady Tree Resort and Casino. My

name is Plenty O'Toole. How may I

assist you?

BOND

Named for your father no doubt. I

have a reservation, the name is

Franks.

The receptionist checks her register and finds the name. She

takes out a form and hands it to Bond.

PLENTY

Sign here, please.

Bond signs as Peter Franks.

PLENTY

Your key and you have a message.

She hands Bond a slip of paper. Bond turns it over and reads:

MUD BATHS, LOCKER 13, 5:00 STOP.

Bond pockets the message and takes his key.

PLENTY

Enjoy the Shady Tree. May your

stay be prosperous and fulfilling.

BOND

I'm sure I'll fit in just fine.

Bond takes his key and leaves.

INT. HOTEL SPA RECEPTION - LATER

Bond enters a luxurious spa. The room is white with glass

windows and walls. Bond walks to the desk, an attractive,

blonde woman, 20s, smiles at him. This is Madeleine.

MADELEINE

Good afternoon sir, how may I be

of service?

BOND

I have an appointment for the mud

baths under the name is Franks.

But my name is Bond, James Bond.

Madeleine checks the ledger and finds his name.

MADELEINE

Ah yes, reservation for Franks. Follow

me, Mr. Bond.

Madeleine walks through the door behind her. Bond admires

her as she moves. He follows.

INT. SPA CORRIDOR - CONTINUOUS

Bond follows Madeleine through a white corridor with doors

on either side. She stops in front a door labeled “Changing

Room”.

MADELEINE

You can change in here.

BOND

Alone?

Madeleine smiles.

MADELEINE

There will be a robe for you and a

place to leave you belongings. I'll

wait for you out here, Mr. Bond.

Bond enters the changing room.

INT. CHANGING ROOM - CONTINUOUS

The locker room is rather upscale. Bond walks to locker 13.

He removes the diamond pouch and checks it. Satisfied,

Bond opens the locker and places the diamonds inside.

INT. SPA CORRIDOR - MOMENTS LATER

Bond emerges wearing just a white robe. Madeleine smiles

at Bond and motions for him to follow.

BOND

Will you be helping me into the mud

bath?

MADELEINE

I am the nurse on duty. It is my job.

They stop in front of room 13. Madeleine opens the door.

They enter.

INT. ROOM 13 - CONTINUOUS

The room is small and contains a bathtub filled with mud.

MADELEINE

You may put your robe on the hook

here and climb in.

BOND

This tub is rather big. Will you be

joining me?

MADELEINE

The mud is heated to 100 degrees

fahrenheit. My skin is too sensitive.

BOND
Oh I don't believe that.

Madeleine sighs.

MADELEINE

Get in.

Bond takes off his robe and hangs it up. Madeleine casually

looks away. Bond gets into the mud.

MADELEINE

I will check on you shortly. Enjoy

Mr. Bond.

Bond smiles to himself as Madeleine leaves.

INT. SPA CORRIDOR - MOMENTS LATER

Two men in suits emerge from the locker room. They walk

towards Bond’s room and enter.

INT. ROOM 13 - CONTINUOUS

Bond’s eyes are closed, only his head is above the mud.

Wint and Kidd look at him.

Wint and Kidd smile at each other. Kidd walks over to a

panel on the wall. These are the controls for the mud and tub.

Kidd turns up the heat and presses a button releasing more

mud into the tub.

Bond snaps to alert, but too late. He thrashes, but is buried

under a mountain of hot mud. Some mud splashes onto Wint’s

and Kidd’s suits.

Kidd releases the button.

WINT

A mud bath can be such a

treacherous place.

Wint and Kidd leave.

INT. SPA CORRIDOR - CONTINUOUS

Wint and Kidd, with mud spatter, walk down the hall passing

Madeleine on the way.

She looks at them suspicious. They exit into the spa lobby.

Madeleine rushes to Bond’s room and enters.

INT. ROOM 13 - CONTINUOUS

Madeleine enters and sees the mountain of mud. She climbs up

to the counter around the tub.

She reaches into the hot mud. She grabs Bond’s hands and pulls.

Bond slowly emerges from the gurgling mud. Covered in mud,

Madeleine drags Bond to the counter and lays him down.

She begins to perform CPR. She presses his chest and blows air

into his lungs. Nothing.

She repeats the process. Still nothing. She slaps his face.

MADELEINE

Mr. Bond! Wake up Mr. Bond!

She pumps his chest and blows air into him, a third time.

Bond spits up mud and coughs.

MADELEINE

Oh Mr. Bond, thank god.

Bond sits up coughing. He can’t speak.

MADELEINE

Come with me.

Madeleine helps Bond up. He leans on her and they move towards

the door.

INT. PRIVATE SHOWER - MOMENTS LATER

Madeleine brings Bond into a private shower. She turns on the

water and drenches herself and Bond.

The mud washes off. Bond begins to control his breathing.

MADELEINE

Mr. Bond, are you okay?

BOND

Never better.

MADELEINE

You could have been killed.

BOND

You gave me the kiss of life.

Madeleine looks deeply into Bond’s eyes. He lifts off Madeleine’s

shirt.

BOND

Let's get you out of these dirty

things.

MADELEINE

Oh James....

Bond and Madeleine kiss passionately. Camera pans out as

steam rises, obscuring the view.

INT. BOND’S SUITE - LATER

The room is large with a strange fish tank bed. Bond and

Madeleine lie in it. They are naked under the blankets, smoking

cigarettes.

MADELEINE

This day....
Madeleine tapers off.

BOND

What happens in Vegas....

Madeleine giggles. Bond takes a puff on his cigarette.

BOND

What's the time?

MADELEINE

Who cares?

Bond checks his watch, 10:30.

BOND

I must go.

Madeleine gets up slightly and looks at him, dejected.

MADELEINE

Why?

BOND

I have a private table set up.

MADELEINE

What could be more private than

this?

Bond crushes out his cigarette.

BOND
Why don't you join me?

MADELEINE

But I've nothing to wear.

BOND

We'll change that.

Bond and Madeleine kiss.

INT. SHADY TREE’S CASINO - LATER

Bond and Madeleine, dressed in a tuxedo and a purple dress,

respectively, arrive in the casino. Bond carries casino plaques.

They walk pass numerous tables and machines stopping a

black jack table. The tabletop is green with the Shady Tree logo

in the middle.

Bond places the plaques on the table. He has $50,000. The

blackjack dealer looks at Bond.

BLACKJACK DEALER

Good evening sir.

BOND

Good evening, my name is Franks

and this is my companion, Madeleine.

MADELEINE
Hello.

BOND

Let's play.

The dealer deals his cards. Bond places his bets. Bond hits on

two hands and holds on the other three. The dealer flips over

his cards. He hits twice: dealer bust.

Bond wins on all five. He is up $10,000. Madeleine smiles. The

dealer gives Bond his plaques and deals again.

INT. SHADY TREE CASINO - SOMETIME LATER

Bond and Madeleine sit at the table. Bond is up $150,000. The

dealer is stoic. Madeleine smiles.

MADELEINE

Lady luck is with you tonight.

BOND

She is stunning in that dress.

Madeleine blushes and drapes herself around Bond.

Just then, another dealer shows up. She picks up the cards and

shuffles them. Bond looks up at her. He is looking at Tiffany Case.

TIFFANY

New dealer.

Bond’s demeanor changes. He turns to Madeleine. He

addresses her sternly.

BOND

Madeleine would you get me a drink?

A vodka martini--

MADELEINE

(interrupts)

But I--

BOND

Shaken (beat) not stirred.

MADELEINE

Okay.

Madeleine’s smile is gone. She departs. Bond turns back to Tiffany.

BOND

What are you doing here, Miss

Case?

TIFFANY

Same as you, Mr. Franks. Or

should I say Bond....

Bond leans back. Tiffany deals the cards.

BOND

Am I to lose now?
TIFFANY

Yes, but not much.

Tiffany turns over her cards: dealer blackjack. She collects Bond’s

plaques.

BOND

I guess lady luck is no more.

Bond gets up to leave. Tiffany follows.

TIFFANY

You should walk straight out of this

casino and never look back.

Bond stops at looks deep into her eyes, coldly.

BOND

Take me to Shady Tree.

TIFFANY

You don't want to go there.

Bond withdraws his PPK and points it at her, taking care to keep it

out of sight from other patrons.

BOND

Now.

TIFFANY

Fine.

Tiffany leads Bond off the casino floor. They exit through a door.
From afar, Madeleine watches them. She holds up Bond’s martini.

MADELEINE

James!

He doesn’t hear her. Madeleine looks dejected. She sits down

and downs his drink.

From the other side of the room, Wint and Kidd sit watching

Madeleine. They get up and begin walking over to her.

EXT. SHADY TREE’S SUITE - MOMENTS LATER

Bond and Tiffany arrive outside a set of large double doors with

gold handles. Tiffany stops and turns to Bond.

TIFFANY

Are you sure this is what you want?

BOND

Open the door.

TIFFANY

It's your funeral, Mr. Bond.

Tiffany opens the door and the two enter.

INT. SHADY TREE’S SUITE - CONTINUOUS

The office is spacious. Various furnishings lie about the room.

It is mostly white and steel. It isn’t very inviting.

Bond follows Tiffany, his gun still trained on her. They search

the room, but don’t see anyone.

BOND

Where is he?

TIFFANY

Not here, obviously.

Bond moves about the room. He sees Tree’s desk at the back

wall. The chair is turned backwards. Bond moves towards it.

He spins the chair around, revealing the dead body of Shady

Tree.

BOND

He's dead.

Suddenly, Bond convulses. He reaches for his neck and feels

a dart. He pulls it out and looks at it.

Tiffany raises her lipstick to Bond, showing him it’s a

concealed dart gun.

TIFFANY

I warned you.

BOND

Bitch....

Bond falls to the floor unconscious.

INT. JAIL CELL - SPECTREVILLE, NEVADA - DAY

Bond sits tied to a chair in a dank room. The walls are musty

and the wood is rotted. Bond’s tuxedo is dirty. Sweat drips down

his face.

Slowly Bond comes to. He explores his surroundings and spots

a rat on the floor.

He smells something foul.

BOND

One of us smells like a tart's

handkerchief.

Bond smells his lapel.

BOND

I'm afraid its me, sorry about that.

KNOCK! KNOCK! The rat scurries off. The door opens and

in walks Serrafimo Spang, dressed in a white pinstriped suit.

SERRAFIMO

James Bond.

BOND

Who wants to know?

Serrafimo stops in front of Bond.

SERRAFIMO

Dont' tell me you've already forgotten

about me.

BOND

Paris.

Serrafimo nods.

SERRAFIMO

You took something from me.

BOND

It's at the bottom of the Seine. Let

me out of this chair and I'll help you

find it.

Serrafimo’s demeanor changes.

SERRAFIMO

IT (beat) was my brother, Mr. Bond.

BOND

He was a murderer. Trust me, he

won't take it personally.

SERRAFIMO

But I do.

Serrafimo pulls up a chair and sits across from Bond.

SERRAFIMO
I know everything about you,

Mr. Bond.

BOND

I'm flattered SPECTRE still talk

about me.

Serrafimo laughs.

SERRAFIMO

You've made for a formidable

adversary. I'll give you that. (beat)

And all great adversaries need a

great end.

Serrafimo stands ups. He unties Bond.

SERRAFIMO

Follow me.

Bond rubs his wrists and follows.

EXT. SPECTREVILLE STREETS - CONTINUOUS

Bond follows Serrafimo outside. The scene is of a classic old

western town. The sun drenches the dirt road and old western

buildings.

Bond removes his bow tie and unbuttons the top two buttons

on his shirt. He buttons his jacket.

Bond reads a sign over the entrance to the street:

SPECTREVILLE.

Serrafimo walks to a table set up in front of a general store. He

stops. Tiffany Case is sitting in a chair at the table. Two

henchman are behind her. Bond is next to Serrafimo.

BOND

Spectreville? A little on the nose

isn't it?

SERRAFIMO

Trust me Mr. Bond, there is far more

to this place, than you think.

BOND

Are we actually in a hollowed out

volcano?

Serrafimo humors Bond.

SERRAFIMO

Make your jokes, while you can.

Soon, you won't make any ever again.

Bond turns to address Tiffany.

BOND

And what about the dragon lady

over here?

SERRAFIMO
Miss Case has played her part

magnificently.

BOND

(to Tiffany)

You know, my dear Tiffany. The

pipeline is closing.

Tiffany looks to Bond.

TIFFANY

For you, maybe.

Serrafimo opens a case on the table. Inside are two derringers.

He removes them.

SERRAFIMO

The Henry Derringer Pocket Pistol.

The very weapon that killed President

Abraham Lincoln.

He hands one to Bond with a small holster.

SERRAFIMO

I offer you a challenge, Mr. Bond.

Bond checks the henchmen. They are holding assault rifles.

BOND

Do I have a choice?

SERRAFIMO

Sure you do. You can either face me,

as a gentleman--

Serrafimo motions to the henchmen who point their guns at

Bond.

SERRAFIMO

Or you can die now.

Bond studies the situation.

BOND

I guess I accept.

SERRAFIMO

Smashing. (to Tiffany) Will you be

staying?

TIFFANY

I don't like cock fights.

Tiffany gets up and leaves.

SERRAFIMO

Feisty that one. (beat) The rules are

simple Mr. Bond. Flinch and you lose.

Fire too early (points toward

henchmen) and they will kill you.

Serrafimo walks to his spot. At gunpoint, Bond walks to his,

making the distance 10 yards. They stare at each other,

guns holsters on their hips.

Bond’s gaze is unfazing. Serrafimo’s hand shakes. He grabs

his gun.

BANG! Bond reacts in time and Serrafimo’s shot misses. BANG!

Bond’s aim is on target, but Serrafimo is unhit. He laughs.

Bond figures it out.

BOND

Blanks.

SERRAFIMO

Just so, Mr. Bond. That was only a

warm-up. The real game begins now.

BOND

Enough games.

Bond throws the useless derringer on the table. Serrafimo shakes

his head, ignoring Bond’s reaction.

SERRAFIMO

Come with me, Mr. Bond. I want to

show you something.

Bond doesn’t move.

SERRAFIMO

(to henchmen)

Bring him.

Serrafimo heads towards what looks like a General Store. The

henchmen hit Bond with their rifles and drag him after Serrafimo.
INT. GENERAL STORE/LAB - MOMENTS LATER

The inside of the building is nothing like a General Store. The

room is gray with various pieces of medical and scientific

equipment. There is a glass partition separating Bond and a

torture room.

There is a blonde woman tied up in a chair. Her face is obscured.

Serrafimo puts on a pair of surgical gloves and grabs a gas mask.

He carefully picks up a diamond necklace from the table. He

holds it up for Bond to see.

SERRAFIMO

Magnificent isn't it?

BOND

You want to show me jewelry.

SERRAFIMO

Where's your imagination Mr. Bond?

This isn't just any piece of jewelry.

These are the very diamonds you

smuggled for us.

BOND

Are you thanking me?

SERRAFIMO

Of course not. I'm teaching you a

lesson.

Serrafimo presses a code on a keypad and passes through a

door in the glass partition. He stops behind the woman. He lifts

her head. Bond gets a clear view of her: Madeleine.

Bond tenses up. Madeleine is bruised and tears run down her

face.

SERRAFIMO

(to Bond)

The game is not to flinch.

Madeleine cries and pleads with Serrafimo.

MADELEINE

Please let me go.

BOND

Let her go, Spang. I'm the one you

want, not her.

SERRAFIMO

That is precisely why she is the one

I want. (to Madeleine) A gift to you,

my dear, courtesy of MI6 and James

Bond.

Madeleine looks to Bond, terrified. Serrafimo places the

diamond necklace around her neck. She screams in agony.

Serrafimo puts on his gas mask.

MADELEINE

James!

Bond moves toward the room, but the henchmen stop him.

He is helpless to save Madeleine.

Her screams die out and she goes limp.

SERRAFIMO

You flinched.

BOND

You will pay for that, I promise you.

Serrafimo motions for the henchmen who force Bond into the

torture room. One of the henchmen hits Bond in the stomach.

He falls to one knee. He clutches his chest and his breathing

becomes more laboured.

Serrafimo removes the necklace from Madeleine’s body. He

shoves it into Bond’s hand.

SERRAFIMO

A parting gift from my brother.

Farewell, Mr. Bond.

Serrafimo leaves and locks the glass door behind him. Bond

drops the necklace and clutches his chest. He grits his teeth.

Bond falls to his knees. The pain is too great. He won’t last
much longer.

Out of the corner of his eye, Bond sees the two henchmen

collapse. BANG! Serrafimo falls down dead.

Through Bond’s POV, the scene is blurred. The door opens

and a figure throws him something. It rolls to a stop. A woman’s

voice speaks to him. He recognizes it.

TIFFANY

Take it now. It'll suppress the

symptoms.

Bond takes the syringe and injects it into his neck. His breathing

starts to stabilize. A gas mask is thrown and lands in front of

Bond.

TIFFANY

Put it on and come outside, quickly,

before more guards show up.

She leaves and Bond dons the gas mask, whilst pulling himself

to his feet. He stumbles out of the torture room.

EXT. SPECTREVILLE STREETS - SECONDS LATER

Bond stumbles out of the General Store/Lab. A range rover pulls

up in front of him. Tiffany is in the driver’s seat.

TIFFANY

Get in.
BOND

You gonna try and shoot me?

TIFFANY

I said get in.

Bond hears shouting in the distance. He hurries around the car

and enters the passenger side. Tiffany drives off in a cloud of dust.

Bond’s vision continues to blur. The screen fades to black.

INT. BEDROOM - LAS VEGAS - DAY

Bond awakens in a white room adorned with circle patterns and

psychadelic colors. It is very much out of the late 60s.

Bond searches around the room, but all is fuzzy.

BOND

(groggily)

Where am I?

TIFFANY

My house.

Tiffany comes into focus in front of Bond.

TIFFANY

Here, drink this.

Tiffany hands Bond a glass with water. Bond sits up and drinks.
BOND

Why am I here?

Bond gives the glass back to Tiffany who sets it on the

nightstand.

TIFFANY

You were dying. I had to take you

somewhere to treat you.

Bond thinks back to his ordeal.

BOND

The diamonds, when I touched them

(beat) I felt like I was having a heart

attack.

TIFFANY

It's a virus.

BOND

A virus?

Tiffany stands up and starts pacing.

TIFFANY

The organization I work for, the one

whose meeting you attended--

BOND

SPECTRE.
TIFFANY

They created a virus that attacks the

circulatory system and causes the

heart to shutdown.

Tiffany lights a cigarette, her pacing becomes more frantic.

TIFFANY

They plan on using it on the whole world.

BOND

You were going along with this?

TIFFANY

I don't care about the world or anyone in it. They

certainly don't care about me.

Tiffany begins to cry.

BOND

So why save me?

TIFFANY

Because of the girl.

BOND

Madeleine?

TIFFANY

I had never seen the virus before. But watching

her convulse and choke and suffer....

Tiffany is trembling uncontrollably.

TIFFANY

I saved you because I think you can stop them.

Bond stands up. He has pants, but no shirt. He moves to

and hugs Tiffany.

BOND

I can, but you need to tell me

everything.

Tiffany nods.

TIFFANY

I will.

BOND

Who is Dr. Shatterhand?

TIFFANY

He's the head of SPECTRE. We

call him number 1. But Shatterhand

is an alias.

BOND

I figured that. What's his real name?

TIFFANY

Franz Oberhauser.
Bond pauses. He walks towards the window and looks

out. The morning sun shines over Las Vegas.

BOND

Oberhauser is dead.

Bond ruminates over this revelation. He sees clothes on

the table. He walks over and puts on a blue collared T-shirt.

BOND

Where?

TIFFANY

New Orleans.

Tiffany is silent. Bond uses a telephone on the table. He

inputs a number and waits. RING! RING! An answer.

FELIX (O.S.)

Leiter.

BOND

It's Bond, Blofeld is alive.

FELIX (O.S.)

What?! Are you sure?

BOND

I need you to arrange a train for two

to New Orleans.

FELIX (O.S.)
Not a flight?

BOND

A plane is too obvious.

FELIX (O.S.)

Done. When you arrive, go to the

cathedral in Jackson Square.

BOND

Copy all of this to M. See you soon,

Felix.

Bond hangs up the phone and turns to Tiffany.

BOND

Back your bags. We're leaving.

INT. TIFFANY’S TRAIN CAR - TEXAS - DAY

Bond and Tiffany sit on opposite sides of a table, while the Texan

countryside whizzes by outside.

Bond stares at Tiffany, who doesn’t look at him.

BOND

I can protect you, Tiffany. You have

my word.

Tiffany sighs and looks at Bond.

TIFFANY

Your word? A man's word isn't worth

the breath it's spat out with.

Bond places his gun on the table.

BOND

That's my word.

Tiffany reaches for the gun and picks it up. She examines it.

TIFFANY

I imagine I could shoot you right

now.

BOND

You could. (beat) But I don't think

you will.

Tiffany points the gun at Bond.

TIFFANY

Why not? I'm already dead. I was

dead the moment you entered my

shop.

Bond doesn’t flinch.

BOND

You could have killed me then, but

you missed (beat) deliberately.

TIFFANY

Why do you say that?

BOND

Because you need me. I promise, I

can protect you. But you need to

help me. Tell me about the diamond

operation.

Tiffany holds her gaze. She relents and places the gun on the

table.

TIFFANY

It starts in South Africa. The diamonds

are mined by forced labor. The men

visit a doctor who pays them English

pounds for smuggling out extra

diamonds. The diamonds are airlifted to

a nun, who uses her charities to get the

diamonds to my shop in Paris. I take the

diamonds to Schiarra in Las Vegas, or I

did before you killed him. Schiarra used

Shady Tree's company to bring the

diamonds to New Orleans, where they get

shipped all over.

BOND

And what of the virus? How are SPECTRE

planning to disperse it?

TIFFANY

I don't know.

Bond sits back in reflection.

BOND

SPECTRE smuggles diamonds from

South Africa to launder in the West

and created a deadly virus. What's

the connection?

Tiffany shrugs.

BOND

Madeleine wasn't affected until

Serrafimo placed the diamonds around

her neck. For me, the pain was much

more intense when I held the necklace.

TIFFANY

He was wearing surgical gloves.

BOND

Nor did he put his gas mask on until

after the diamonds were around her

neck.

It clicks for Bond.

BOND

The virus isn't airborne until someone

is infected. It's transmitted through the

skin, then the infected becomes a carrier.

They must be coating the diamonds in it.

But why?

TIFFANY

I'm tired, can we continue this later?

BOND

Of course.

Bond gets up to leave. He turns to took at Tiffany, who appears

to be staring blankly out the window.

INT. DINING CAR - SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS - LATER

Mood lighting illuminates a mostly empty dining car. Bond,

dressed in a white-jacket tuxedo, waits at a table.

Bond looks up to Tiffany striding in wearing a low cut black

dress. Bond stands up to greet her. Tiffany is ravishing.

TIFFANY

Thank you, James.

Bond takes his seat opposite her.

BOND

You look stunning.

TIFFANY

What, this old thing?

Tiffany blushes. She looks at Bond.

TIFFANY

What do you know of the Alamo?

BOND

Mexican forces invade San Antonio

to quell the Texian rebellion.

Casualties included William Travis,

Jim Bowie, and Davy Crockett. The

Republic of Texas was born soon

after. What of it?

TIFFANY

It is also my home.

Bond acknowledges the stress in her voice. He lights a cigarette.

BOND

San Antonio has a Tiffany and Co.?

Tiffany shakes her head.

TIFFANY

My father's name was Case. He wed

my mother when she was only 16.

When I was born, he was so enraged

that I wasn't a boy, he gave my mother

one thousand dollars and a powder

case from Tiffany's, before abandoning

her. My mother was Italian, she couldn't

speak English. So she named me after

what she saw.

BOND

Hence, Tiffany Case.

Tiffany nodded.

TIFFANY

My mother was my whole world. She

worked tirelessly to provide for me,

even after she was diagnosed with

cancer.

Tiffany takes out a cigarette. Bond lights it for her.

TIFFANY

I know, the irony right?

Tiffany takes a long puff of smoke.

BOND

No judgement, here.

TIFFANY

After she died, I went to live with my

father. It was the worst mistake of my

life.

Bond leans in.

TIFFANY

One day, he said he was going out

for cigarettes. While he was gone,

a man came into the house. He tied

me up.

Tiffany’s voice cracks and she trembles.

TIFFANY

I was gangraped by scores of men.

BOND

You don't have to--

TIFFANY

It's quite alright, James. Eventually,

one of the men got me pregnant. My

father forced me to have an abortion

and kicked me out.

BOND

What did you do next?

TIFFANY

I set the house on fire. Then, I left San

Antonio and vowed never to come back.

Bond sits back taking it all in.

BOND

I'm very sorry.

TIFFANY
I've learned to accept my past.

BOND

So what brought you to SPECTRE?

TIFFANY

I was promised a way out.

BOND

Did you know what they do?

TIFFANY

I learned, but it didn't matter to me.

I don't care about men killing other

men.

Tiffany exhales smoke into Bond’s face. She crushes out her

cigarette. She changes the subject.

TIFFANY

Tell me, Mr. Bond, James Bond. What

drives you? What brought you into my

shop and into my life?

BOND

SPECTRE. (beat) They killed an

acquaintance of mine.

TIFFANY

Another mistress?
Bond winces at the remark and shakes his head.

BOND

My wife.

Tiffany recognizes the hurt in his voice.

TIFFANY

I'm sorry, James.

BOND

I killed her murderer, two years ago.

Or at least I thought I did. I've spent

the last two years, trying to track

down the remnants of his

organization. Marco Schiarra was

the key.

TIFFANY

That's what led you to me?

BOND

Yes, then you led me to the meeting

with their new leader, Shatterhand.

You said his real name is Oberhauser?

Tiffany looks puzzled.

TIFFANY

What are you saying?

BOND

Franz Oberhauser was an SS officer

who defected to the allies toward the

end of World War II. When he came

to the West, he changed his name.

TIFFANY

What did he change it to?

BOND

Ernst Stavro Blofeld, (beat) and I

thought he was dead, until yesterday.

Bond withdraws his PPK and gazes at it. He sighs and places

it on the table.

BOND

When this affair is over, when

Oberhauser, if he is in fact Blofeld

is dead and SPECTRE is buried, I

will be done killing.

Tiffany looks longingly into his eyes.

TIFFANY

Are you sure?

BOND

When you do what I've done for too

long, at the end there may be no soul

left to salvage. I'm leaving with what

little I have left.

Tiffany reaches across the table and holds Bond’s hand. Bond

and Tiffany share a longing gaze. They lean across the table

and kiss.

Just then, two men arrive with a dinner cart. We recognize them

as Wint and Kidd dressed as waiters.

BOND

(softly)

Wonderful timing.

WINT

Dinner is served.

BOND

There must be some mistake, we

haven't ordered yet.

Wint smiles.

WINT

No mistake sir, compliments of the

house.

Kidd unveils the feast as Wint explains in a seductive tone.

WINT

Oysters andaluz, fire-roasted

skewers, tidbits, steak au poivre....

Kidd kneels down and pours a liquid into each of the bowls of
caviar. He grabs the bowls and stands up.

WINT

And for dessert, fresh from the

Caspian, Beluga caviar.

Wint grabs a bottle of wine and displays it.

WINT

Mouton Rothschild '55.

POP! Wint uncorks the wine and pours glasses each for

Bond and Tiffany. He hands Bond the cork. Bond sniffs it.

KIDD

We just need a moment, then we will

leave you to rest in peace.

Bond sips his wine, while Wint places the oysters in front

of Bond and Tiffany.

BOND

That's rather potent. Not the cork,

your aftershave. Strong enough to

tie up anyone.

Wint flinches at Bond’s revelation.

BOND

The wine's rather excellent. Though

for a meal this grande, I would rather

have expected a claret.

WINT

Apologies, unfortunately our cellar is

currently out of clarets.

Bond’s rouse worked.

BOND

Mouton Rothschild is a claret (beat) and

I've smelt that aftershave before and

both times I've smelt a rat.

Kidd lights the skewers on fire and advances towards

Bond and Tiffany.

Wint pulls a knife and swipes at Bond who blocks with

his arm. Bond smashes the bottle of wine and douses

Kidd. The alcohol ignites the skewers and Kidd is

engulfed in flames.

Kidd screams and runs to the front of the car and jumps

off the train.

Wint watches in horror. He attacks Bond who is bleeding

from his arm.

Bond and Wint fight hand-to-hand. Bond wrests the knife

from Wint and it falls to the floor. Tiffany tries to intervene,

but Wint punches her, knocking her down.

The distraction allows Bond to withdraw his PPK, but Wint

is on Bond. They struggle and Wint causes Bond to drop

the gun.

Wint throws Bond against a booth. Bond pops up and avoids

a kick from Wint. He pushes Wint backwards into a table.

Bond escapes to the end of the car.

Wint is up and jumps on top of Bond. They tumble into the

next car.

INT. BAR CAR - CONTINUOUS

Bond and Wint continue fighting. Bond grabs a gas candle

and throws it at Wint. The candle shatters inflaming Wint’s

coat.

Wint struggles out of the burning jacket. Bond lunges at

Wint and punches. Wint grabs Bond and whips him toward

the end of the car.

Bond runs into the next car.

INT. STORAGE CAR - CONTINUOUS

The room is the pantry for the train. There are crates and

beer kegs along the wall.

Bond punches Wint, but Wint deflects. He wraps his hands

around Bond’s neck. Bond struggles, but to no avail. Wint

releases a lever, opening the large door. WHOOSH! The wind

howls by.

Bond falls to his knees, he thrashes, but is losing energy.

BANG! Wint is hit in the arm and releases his grip on Bond who

falls to the floor. Bond gasps for air.

Wint turns to face his attacker. BANG! Tiffany, holding Bond’s

PPK, fires again and hits Wint in the stomach. Wint clutches at

his bleeding torso.

Tiffany moves closer. CLICK! The gun jams! Wint hits Tiffany,

but the distraction is enough.

Bond grabs a chain and wraps it around Wint’s neck. Bond kicks

the first keg out of the opening.

The chain loses slack as one by one the kegs are sucked out

into the night.

Wint realizes too late what is about to happen.

He stares at Bond, terrified. The last keg falls out and Wint is

sucked out into the darkness.

Bond rushes to Tiffany, who is sitting up. They are both panting,

the adrenaline is flowing.

They look at each other.

TIFFANY

What do we do now?

INT. TIFFANY’S TRAIN CAR - MOMENTS LATER

Bond and Tiffany are kissing passionately, tearing each others’

clothes off. Bond lays Tiffany down on the bed and the two make

love.

END: ACT II

EXT. JACKSON SQUARE - NEW ORLEANS - DAY

Wideshot of New Orleans pans to Bond and Tiffany exiting a cab.

The cab departs and leaves the pair in front of the garden at

Jackson Square.

TIFFANY

Now what?

BOND

We wait for Felix.

Just then a man approaches. He is dressed as one of the carriage

drivers.

CARRIAGE DRIVER

Mr. Bond?
BOND

Yes?

CARRIAGE DRIVER

Felix Leiter sent me to collect you.

BOND

He's not meeting us here?

carriage driver

He said it's too public. Follow me.

TIFFANY

(to Bond)

This doesn't seem right.

BOND

I agree, stay behind me.

Bond and Tiffany follow the carriage driver to his horse drawn

carriage.

CARRIAGE DRIVER

Please be comfortable.

Bond and Tiffany climb into the carriage and watch as New

Orleans’ French Quarter passes by.

EXT. FERRY TERMINAL - MOMENTS LATER

The carriage stops at the Algiers Ferry Terminal on the

Mississippi River. A large, old-fashioned steamboat is moored

to the dock.

A woman comes to greet them. A large hat obstructs her face.

She stops at the carriage and looks at Bond. It is Irma Bunt.

BUNT

Good afternoon, Mr. Bond, Miss

Case. We've been expecting you.

Bond tenses up.

BOND

Fraulein Bunt.

BUNT

Dr. Shatterhand extends his most

sincere apologies for not being able

to greet you in person.

BOND

It's not the first time.

BUNT

Step down please, we are running

behind schedule.

Bond steps off the carriage. He turns to help Tiffany.

BOND

It's alright.
Tiffany takes Bond’s hand and steps down. The pair follow

Bunt on board the steamboat.

EXT. STEAMBOAT DECK - CONTINUOUS

BOND

Rather ostentatious.

TIFFANY

That's SPECTRE.

Bunt stops as do Bond and Tiffany. Another man, in a butler’s

garb, approaches holding a silver tray.

BUNT

Before we leave, just one more

thing.

The butler raises the tray. Bond figures out what it means.

BOND

Oh, right.

Bond unholsters his PPK and places it on the tray.

BOND

You be careful with that. It's loaded.

Bunt and the butler leave. Bond and Tiffany take their seats.

The steamboat begins to move.

EXT. BAYOU - LATER

The sun gets low in the sky. The steamboat passes through

the bayou past cypress trees and spanish moss. A giant

plantation comes into view.

The steamboat comes to a stop at dock in front of the

plantation.

EXT. STEAMBOAT - CONTINUOUS

Bond and Tiffany stand up. Irma Bunt reappears.

BUNT

Come.

BOND

Now?

Bunt holds her gaze sternly. She motions for the two to

disembark.

BOND

(to Tiffany)

After you, my dear.

Bond and Tiffany disembark the steamboat.

EXT. PLANTATION DOCKS - CONTINUOUS

Bond and Tiffany are led by Bunt along the docks through

the swamp. The wood creaks under their feet. Alligators

swim past.
Bond looks ahead. He sees a giant swath of vegetation in

the shadow of the illuminated plantation. Bond recognizes

some of the plants.

BOND

Interesting garden.

BUNT

Some of the rarest and deadliest

plants in the world.

BOND

A garden to die for.

Bond raises his eyebrow. They continue towards the

plantation.

INT. PLANTATION HALL - MOMENTS LATER

Bunt leads Bond and Tiffany through the plantation.

The interior is lavishly adorned with taxidermized big

animals and opulent furnishings.

They continue walking up the stairs. Bunt opens a door

and they pass through.

INT. PLANTATION CORRIDOR - CONTINUOUS

The bayou is visible through the windows to Bond’s left.

Bunt stops in front of two doors. She points.

BUNT

Your rooms.

Bond and Tiffany look at each nervously. They each

enter a room.

INT. TIFFANY’S ROOM - CONTINUOUS

The room looks like a standard bedroom. There is a red

dress on the bed. Pictures adorn the nightstand and

mantle. They are of Tiffany’s childhood.

She picks one up and looks at it: her father. She gets

visibly upset and smashes the picture.

INT. BOND’S ROOM - SIMULTANEOUS

Bond’s room is a mirror-image of Tiffany’s. A black suit

is laid out on the bed.

BUNT

We will come to collect you later.

Bunt leaves and the door locks behind her.

Bond examines the pictures: Skyfall Manor, M, a young

Bond and his parents (the picture Bond burned at the end

of “Skyfall”), and lastly Bond and Tracy on their wedding

day.
Bond picks up the photo of him and Tracy. He tenses up.

INT. BOND’S ROOM - AFTERNOON, THE FOLLOWING DAY

Bunt enters Bond’s room, uninvited. Bond is wearing the black

suit.

BUNT

We're going to see the doctor.

Bond follows Bunt out of his room.

INT. PLANTATION CORRIDOR - CONTINUOUS

Tiffany is waiting for them in the corridor. She takes Bond’s

hand.

TIFFANY

I'm scared, James.

BOND

It'll be okay, Tiffany.

Bond and Tiffany follow Bunt down the corridor.

EXT. BALCONY - MOMENTS LATER

Bond and Tiffany emerge onto a balcony over looking the garden

below.
The scene resembles a small jungle with spanish moss.

Bond hears wheels gliding across the restored wood floor.

Shatterhand has arrived.

SHATTERHAND

Do you recognize any of the plants?

Bond recognizes the voice.

BOND

Oleander.

SHATTERHAND

And what do you know of Oleander,

Commander?

BOND

A beautiful pink flower from Central

Europe and Asia. Pliny the Elder

wrote of its striking beauty. Though,

it can be deadly if ingested.

SHATTERHAND

Very good. What about that one?

Shatterhand points to plants with large black berries.

BOND

Atropa belladonna, deadly nightshade.

Used as poison for centuries. It's

effects are (beat) unpredictable.

SHATTERHAND

Top marks, 007.

Bond turns to face the man called Shatterhand. There’s a

nasty scar running down the right side of his face from his

forehead, through his eye, and ending near his mouth.

BOND

Well, well, Ernst Stavro Blofeld. I

seem to recall you having a rather

nasty fall.

Confirmed, Shatterhand is Blofeld.

BLOFELD

What doesn't kill me, makes me stronger.

BOND

You know, Blofeld, you only live

twice. (beat) Once when you are

born and once when you're staring

death in the face.

BLOFELD

I guess we've both lived two lives.

BOND

One life too many.

BLOFELD

Maybe so. (beat) Now, if you don't

mind, dinner is to be served. (to Tiffany)

Of course, you are more than welcome

to join us Miss Case. Everyone

deserves a final meal.

Tiffany nervously glances at Bond.

BOND

It's alright.

Blofeld pushes himself out of his wheelchair and stands. A

distinctive metallic sound is heard and Blofeld straightens

his paralyzed legs.

BOND

Well that's a neat trick.

BLOFELD

The Nazis made some truly

remarkable achievements in the field

of robotics.

INT. DINING ROOM - MOMENTS LATER

The three join Irma Bunt at the table, Blofeld and Bond at

opposite ends with Tiffany in the middle opposite Bunt.

Serving staff enter carrying silver trays, placing one in front

of each diner. The lids are removed, each has a pile of

crawfish.
BLOFELD

Boiled crawfish, a delicacy here in

New Orleans.

Tiffany refuses to touch her food, nor does Bond. Blofeld

breaks off the tail of a crawfish and sucks out the juice.

BLOFELD

Not hungry?

BOND

I ate on the train.

TIFFANY

I don't eat anything with a face.

Blofeld continues eating.

BLOFELD

You're disrupting the natural order

of life, breaking a link in the food

chain.

BOND

I'm sure life will go on.

BLOFELD

You're right, life adapts. But isn't it

strange how we are all put on God's

earth and yet there are some of us

here who are just better?

BOND

Better?

BLOFELD

Desirable and undesirable.

Bond understands his meaning.

BOND

Ubermensch and untermensch.

BLOFELD

Exactly.

BOND

You can take the man out of Nazi

Germany, but you can't take Nazi

Germany out of the man.

Blofeld nods.

BLOFELD

So this is your end game.

BLOFELD

This was always the end game.

BOND

Allow society to rip itself apart. (beat)

And after the dust settles....

BLOFELD

SPECTRE will put the world back

together, (beat) the Fourth Reich.

BOND

But how? (beat) The diamonds?

BLOFELD

Go on.

BOND

The virus, you're creating a pandemic.

BLOFELD

Indeed, Mr. Bond. The virus was

synthesized from the plants you see

before you. The diamonds will be

sent to every major city in the world,

starting with New York.

BOND

And when people go to pick up their

jewelry?

BLOFELD

They will die rich.

Blofeld raises his glass, as if to toast.

TIFFANY

You're a monster.

BLOFELD

No Miss Case, you are the monsters.

(to Bond) You remember Dresden?

BOND

Carpet bombing leveled the city at the

end of the war, nearly 45,000 casualties.

BLOFELD

All for nothing. The war was already won.

BOND

Not our finest hour. But you know it'll

never work. Chaos just breeds more

chaos. They'll never accept you.

Blofeld motions to the guards in the room.

BLOFELD

Oh but they will Mr. Bond. Just as

you will.

Bond’s confused. The guard hits him in the back of the head

and the scene goes black.

INT. TORTURE ROOM - MOMENTS LATER

The room is brightly lit. Blofeld sits in front of a large computer

console. Tiffany sits next to him. Bunt holds a gun to her head.

Bond is strapped to a chair.

A guard splashes water on Bond’s face. He snaps to attention.

He searches the room taking in his surroundings.

BLOFELD

(to Tiffany)

There's a certain symmetry in the

world. Everything exists in balance.

Law and order, light and dark, day

and night, summer and winter, (beat)

life and death.

Blofeld smiles seeing Bond wake up. He is stroking a white cat.

BLOFELD

James and I have been adversaries

for a long time, my dear. He fought

for the law. I fought for the order.

BOND

Through chaos.

BLOFELD

Exactly right. Order is achieved

through chaos. Miss Case, you are

aware that James and I were both

present at a gathering, recently, in

which a man was strangled to death.

One minute he was alive, the next,

he was dead.

TIFFANY

Balance....

Tiffany’s voice is raw with emotion.

BLOFELD

However, for a fleeting moment, he

was neither alive nor dead. His soul

was seeping from his body as he

was deprived of air. (beat) And just

before he died, you could see, his

body was nothing more than a hollow

shell, the life draining out. He was an

empty void. The balance was missing.

It was most odd.

Bond gets agitated.

BOND

Get on with it already, Blofeld. Nothing can

be more torturous than listening to you talk.

BLOFELD

As you wish.

Blofeld turns to his console and flips a switch. BUZZ! A tiny drill

activates. He lets the cat go.

The drill approaches Bond’s head. It penetrates his skull and he

screams. A few seconds pass. Blofeld stops the drill.

BLOFELD

How did that feel? Painful?

Blofeld smiles. Bond starts trying to undo his watch behind his

back, out of view of Blofeld.

BLOFELD

That is only the start.

Bond gets the watch undone. He slides it off his wrist.

BLOFELD

First, you will lose your sense of balance.

Then your memories will start to fade.

When I'm through, you will be a blank slate,

neither alive nor dead.

BOND

At least I won't have to remember

you, Blofeld.

BLOFELD

My dear James, soon you will address

me by another title, as will the whole

world (beat) Mein Fuhrer, Franz

Oberhauser.

Blofeld starts the drill again. Bond screams. He nearly drops the

watch. Blofeld stops and removes the drill. Bond grips his watch
tightly.

Tears streak down Tiffany’s face.

TIFFANY

Stop this.

BLOFELD

You love him, don't you? Go to him,

my dear. Kiss him goodbye.

Blofeld nods to Bunt, who lowers her gun.

Tiffany hurries over to Bond.

BLOFELD

Do those blue eyes still recognize

you?

Tiffany wraps herself around Bond. His eyes are closed.

TIFFANY

(whispering)

James! Can you hear me? (beat) I

love you.

Bond’s eyes open.

BOND

(whispering)

I could never forget you.

Tiffany kisses him.

BOND

(whispering)

The watch, in my hand.

Bond turns a dial and the face turns red.

BOND

(whispering)

30 seconds.

Tiffany nods for understanding. She kisses him again, disguising

her taking the watch.

BLOFELD

Time's up, Tiffany.

Blofeld starts the drill again.

BOND

For you, Blofeld.

Tiffany throws the watch toward Blofeld and Bunt. Blofeld looks at it.

He tries to dive out of the way.

BOOM! The watch explodes, destroying Blofeld’s console. He is flung

against the far wall. Bunt is knocked to the ground.

Bond’s restraints unlock and he falls to the floor. Tiffany helps him up.

TIFFANY

Are you alright?

Bond shakes his head.

BOND

Never better, come on.

Bond picks up an STG44 from a downed guard.

Bunt stands and helps Blofeld up. Bond fires at them, but misses.

They escape out of the other side of the room.

Bond and Tiffany start to move, but Bond stumbles. His balance is

off.

TIFFANY

Here.

Tiffany allows Bond to lean on her. The doors in front of them open,

two guards are visible. Bond fires and kills them both.

The pair move out of the room.

EXT. PLANTATION ENTRANCE - SIMULATENOUS

A group of marines, in camouflage and face paint, encircle the

entrance to the plantation. A marine plants a charge on the front

door.

EXT. CORRIDOR - SIMULATANEOUS

Bond and Tiffany arrive into the hall. They make their way to the

end.
BOOM! A large explosion rocks the compound. Gunfire is heard

in the background.

EXT. PLANTATION ENTRANCE - SIMULATANEOUS

The door explodes inward. Felix is seen leading the marines. He

wears camouflage and wields an M16.

FELIX

(shouting)

All targets are hostile. 007 and the

girl are not to be harmed.

The marines enter the plantation.

INT. PLANTATION HALL - CONTINUOUS

Bond and Tiffany arrive in the main hall. The hall is on fire. The

marines and Blofeld’s men exchange fire.

Bond attempts to fire, but his shots are erratic. They hide behind

a column.

FELIX

James!

Bond searches for the voice.

BOND

Felix!

Felix runs over and kneels down.

FELIX

You don't look so good. Must've

been a great party.

BOND

I've had better. How'd you find

me?

FELIX

Q. He pinged your tracker. We

have to get you out of here.

BOND

No, you have to get the diamonds.

They are to be sent to New York.

FELIX

What's the catch?

BOND

They are coated in a virus that will

kill millions.

FELIX

What about you?

BOND

I'm going after Blofeld. This ends

once and for all.

Felix hands a pistol to Tiffany.

FELIX

(to Tiffany)

Keep him safe. God speed, James.

Felix takes off with a group of marines.

BOND

(to Tiffany)

Come on.

Bond and Tiffany head towards the back of the hall.

INT. PLANTATION BASEMENT - MOMENTS LATER

The room is dark and dank. Water leaks on the floor.

Bullets fly toward Bond and Tiffany, they take cover behind a column.

Wooden shrapnel flies all around. Tiffany is hit and slightly bloodied.

BOND

Are you alright?

TIFFANY

Yes, I'm okay.

Bond turns and fires back. He hits one guard. A window shatters

allowing more water in. The second guard is knocked over. Tiffany

shoots him.
BOND

Let's go.

They make their way to the other side of the basement. There are

stairs leading outside.

BOND

Follow me.

Bond begins to move. He hears a voice and stops.

BUNT

Don't move.

Bond turns around. Bunt holds her gun to Tiffany’s head.

BUNT

Drop your gun.

Bond does as he’s told. Blofeld, bloodied, emerges behind him and

knocks him to his knees.

BLOFELD

(to Bunt)

Take her to the boat.

Bunt leaves with Tiffany. Blofeld kneels down and grabs Bond’s face.

He holds it up to his. Bond notices some machetes on a shelf, next to

him.

BLOFELD

I should have killed you long ago.

BOND
Your mistake.

BLOFELD

Not one that I will make again.

Blofeld releases Bond’s head and stands up. He points his gun at Bond.

Bond feels behind him and grips the handle of the machete.

BLOFELD

Goodbye, Mr. Bond.

Blofeld starts to pull the trigger, but Bond swings the machete. He hits the

gun, causing Blofeld to drop it.

Bond kicks Blofeld hard, who stumbles back. Bond gets to his feet, but

Blofeld recovers.

They struggle to gain control. Blofeld punches Bond, he stumbles against

the wall. Blofeld grabs the other machete and escapes up the stairs.

Bond gives chase.

EXT. PLANTATION GARDENS - CONTINUOUS

Bond finds himself in the plantation gardens. Deadly plants surround him.

Blofeld is nowhere to be seen.

SNAP! Bond searches for the source of the sound. He sees an alligator

creeping towards him. He takes off running.

Bond hears rustling near him. He stops and searches.

He hears crunching behind him and spins around. Blofeld swings at him

with his machete. Bond parries at the last second.

Bond and Blofeld fight with the machetes. Bond swings, but Blofeld

blocks.

Blofeld kicks Bond hard, who falls to the ground. Blofeld swings, but

Bond rolls out of the way and pushes himself to his feet.

ROAR! Bond sees a Jaguar ready to pounce. Blofeld turns and runs.

Bond readies himself. The jaguar lunges at him, but Bond dives out

of the way. He hurries into the jungle to put distance between himself

and the jaguar.

Bond runs, using the machete to chop plants. He dives behind a tree

and waits.

INT. LAB - SIMULTANEOUS

A once pristine lab is shot to pieces. Glass is shattered, scientists lie

dead.

BANG! A last guard is shot dead. The marines enter the lab with Felix.

Felix sees shipping crates with various city names: NEW YORK,

LOS ANGELES, LONDON, PARIS, MOSCOW.

FELIX

Hand me that crowbar.

A marine hands Felix a crowbar sitting on the crates. Felix wedges it

in and pries the lid off.

Diamond encrusted jewelry sits inside sealed, glass cases.

FELIX

We've got the diamonds. Use the

charges, destroy it all.

MARINE

Yes sir.

FELIX

Set timers, two minutes.

Felix primes his own charge and places it in the open crate.

FELIX

Let's go, double time.

Felix and the marines hurry out of the lab.

EXT. PLANTATION GARDENS - SIMULTANEOUS

Bond pants behind the tree. He slowly gets up to move. A

blade appears at his throat.

BLOFELD

Drop it, slowly.

Bond drops the machete. Blofeld kicks Bond hard, who falls to the ground.
Blofeld stamps Bond hard in the chest, pushing down with his

robotic leg. Bond lets out a muffled scream.

BLOFELD

What's that? I couldn't hear you,

Mr. Bond.

Bond tries to move Blofeld’s foot, to no avail. He sees black berries

near his head, the deadly nightshade.

INT. LAB - SIMULTANEOUS

Close up shot of the charges, a digital countdown. 3…2…1…BOOM!

EXT. PLANTATION GARDENS - CONTINUOUS

The charges explode and the entire plantion is engulfed in flames.

The distraction allows Bond to grab a rock and hit Blofeld.

Blofeld stumbles back. Bond grabs a handful of berries. Blofeld

advances toward Bond again. Bond picks up the machete. Blofeld

swings, Bond blocks and shoves the berries into Blofeld’s mouth.

Blofeld stumbles back. He starts to wobble. He falls to his knees

and coughs.

BLOFELD

What? What did you do?

Bond kicks Blofeld onto his back and wraps his hands around

Blofeld’s neck. He squeezes. Blofeld chokes.

BLOFELD

No!

BOND

Die Blofeld!

Blofled struggles, but succumbs to the poison. Bond lets him go.

He falls back to his knees. His nemesis is finally dead.

Felix arrives with a few marines.

FELIX

James.

Bond looks to him.

FELIX

Blofeld?

Bond points to Blofeld’s body.

BOND

With the rest of the Nazis. The

diamonds?

FELIX

Destroyed. Where's Tiffany?

A distant scream is heard. Bond and Felix look up. They see two

figures enter a speedboat on the river, Bunt and Tiffany.

BOND

We have to get her, come on.

Felix helps Bond to his feet.

FELIX

(to Marine)

Sergeant Harris, get your men out

of here.

HARRIS

What about you two?

FELIX

We have a boat to catch. Give him

a gun.

Harris gives Bond a Beretta. Bond cocks it. He and Felix take off

towards the dock.

Bond and Felix arrive at the dock and jump in the remaining

speedboat. Bond starts it and drives off.

EXT. RIVER - CONTINUOUS

Bond and Felix pursue Bunt and Tiffany down the river.

BOND

Take the wheel and step on it.

Felix switches places with Bond. Bond takes the M16 and aims it at

the other boat.

In Tiffany’s boat, Tiffany sits with her hands tied up. Bunt meanders
through the thick, overhanging vegetation.

Bunt hears the other boat. She turns to see Bond gaining. Tiffany

turns to Bond as well.

TIFFANY

James!

Bond fires at Bunt. Bunt swerves and the bullets hit random spots on

the boat. The windshield shatters and wood splinters.

BOND

Damn.

FELIX

What is it?

BOND

It's too dangerous, I could hit Tiffany.

Bond drops the gun and climbs over the windshield onto the front of the

boat.

FELIX

James, what are you doing?

BOND

Get along side them.

Felix speeds up. Their boat closes in on the other one. Bunt looks back,

she tries swerving again, but only succeeds in allowing Bond to gain

ground.
Bond’s boat pulls up next to Bunt’s. Bunt rams Bond’s boat. Bond falls

and grabs a hold of the railing, barely avoiding falling in the water.

FELIX

James, hang on.

Bunt starts to turn the boat towards Bond’s again. Tiffany manages to

pull herself to her feet. She charges at Bunt.

Bunt punches her and she falls to the deck, but the distraction is

enough to stop Bunt from hitting Bond.

Bond pulls himself to his feet. He readies himself to jump again.

The headlights of the boats illuminate the view ahead. There’s an island

forking the river in two.

Bunt smiles she turns the boat to hit Bond again.

FELIX

Jump James!

Bond jumps and lands in Bunt’s boat. Felix turns down the other river

at the fork.

Bunt tries to correct herself, but hits the rocks causing everyone to fall.

Bond gets up. He rushes to Tiffany and unties her hands. She kisses

him.
TIFFANY

Oh James.

BOND

Wait here.

Bond gets up and sees Bunt trying to pick herself up.

Bond grabs the steering wheel and straightens out the boat.

Bunt attacks Bond who is knocked to the side and falls into the

navigator’s seat. Bunt withdraws her gun and points it at Bond.

BUNT

This is for Franz.

Bond kicks the steering wheel, jerking the boat around. Bunt falls

backward, hitting the railing, and drops the gun overboard. Her

neck breaks on the railing and she falls onto the steering wheel.

The boat speeds up.

BOND

At that's for Tracy.

Bond looks to Tiffany, who gives an exhausted smile. But her look

soon turns to horror.

TIFFANY

James, look out!

The boat is speeding straight for an oil platform. Bond tries to move

Bunt, but is unable.

BOND

It's stuck. Come on!

Bond grabs Tiffany and they jump overboard. They pop up to see

the boat heading for the platform.

BOND

Swim, fast!

The two frantically swim for the shore in front of them.

BOND

Dive!

Bond and Tiffany dive underwater as the boat collides with the oil

platform and explodes in a giant fireball that lights up the entire river.

Bond and Tiffany climb onto shore. They collapse next to each and

pass out from exhaustion, as a speedboat begins to come into view.

EXT. HEATHROW - LONDON - DAY

M, stands with Marc-Ange Draco, as a plane door opens. Bond,

smartly dressed, disembarks from the plane. Tiffany follows

wearing a dress.

Bond walks over to Draco.

BOND

It's done.

DRACO
Thank you, James. Maybe now

Teresa can rest in peace. How

are you?

BOND

She already was. The dead don't

care about vengeance.

Bond and Draco shake hands, amicably. Bond approaches M,

withdrawing his PPK. He hands it to M.

BOND

Effective immediately, I tender my

resignation from Her Majesty's Secret

Service.

Accepted.

Bond shakes M’s hand.

BOND

Thank you, Colonel.

It was my pleasure, Commander.

Bond takes Tiffany’s hand and they walk off toward the terminal.

INT. Q’S LAB - LONDON - DAY

The lab is mostly empty. Q sits at his desk, turning a screw into
one of his briefcase gadgets.

CREAK! Q hears a door open and close. He looks up to see

Bond entering.

007? What are you doing here? I

thought you'd gone.

BOND

Just have to pick up one last thing.

Bond walks over to Q’s desk. He picks up a set of keys lying

amidst Q’s various gadgets.

BOND

Goodbye Q.

Bond smiles at Q and turns to leave.

INT. BOND’S CAR - MOMENTS LATER

The Bond theme starts to build as early morning light streams

into the car. Bond inserts his key and turns the ignition. VROOM!

The car starts and Bond revs the engine.

Bond looks to his left and sees Tiffany sitting next to him. He

kisses her.

BOND

Where should we go, darling?

TIFFANY

Far, far away.

BOND

Whatever you say.

Bond puts the car in gear and tears down the road.

EXT. LONDON STREETS - CONTINUOUS
