Welcome Message
from the President of ASGO

Hello ASGO members,

With the ASGO 2024 just six months away, we are excited to issue the first
announcement of the meeting. This year, the event will take place from November
28th to December 1st at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center in Indonesia, under
the leadership of Dr. Brahmana Askandar, Chairman of the Organizing Committee.
Congratulations to all the of the Indonesian Society of Gynecologic Oncology!

The theme of the conference is “Close the gap in gynecologic cancer care in
Asia,” and I believe this gathering will facilitate valuable information sharing and
consensus-building across the Asian region.

Currently, Dr. Askandar and the scientific committee are diligently crafting an
engaging program. Prior to the main conference, there will be pre-symposium
workshops, including six technical workshops and a workshop on paper writing by
JGO, which I believe will be beneficial for young doctors.

The main conference program will feature keynote speeches by world-renowned

experts such as Professor David Cibula and Professor Anna Fagotti from Europe,
along with symposiums covering over ten themes, encompassing all areas of
current gynecologic oncology issues.

As you well know, Bali, with its tropical charm, offers an unparalleled setting for
fostering camaraderie and friendship among ASGO members. We believe this is a
unique opportunity for everyone to gather on this enchanting island and enjoy each
other’s company. Let’s all come together to Bali this winter and create wonderful
memories.

Masaki Mandai

Welcome Message
from the President of INASGO & Chairman of ASGO 2024 Meeting

Being selected to host the 2024 Asian Society Gynecologic Oncology Meeting
(ASGO meeting) in Nusa Dua, Bali, Indonesia from November 29 to December
1, 2024, makes us extremely delighted and honored. It is our goal for all medical
professionals who treat patients with gynecological cancer to come to Bali to
discuss, exchange experiences, share research findings, and keep up to date on
the latest developments in the field of gynecological cancer. A symposium and
a pre-meeting courses will be held to enhance knowledge and skills during the
meeting. In order to facilitate networking, a number of informal events have also
been planned.

No other location compares to Bali. A wonderful fusion of a lively nightlife, colorful

culture, amiable locals, breathtaking scenery, an abundance of activities, tropical
weather, and exquisite cuisine. Bali is consistently ranked among the world`s top
travel destinations.

We are committed to making your experience in Bali both professionally productive

General Information

Weather in Bali
Bali is an Indonesian island, located just a few degrees south of the equator, and has a tropical
climate, hot all year round. However, from December to March, the west monsoon can bring
heavy showers and high humidity, but days are still often sunny with the rain starting in the late
afternoon or evening and passing quickly. From June to September, the humidity is low, and it
can be quite cool in the evenings. At this time of the year there is hardly any rain in the lowland
coastal areas.
At higher elevations such as Bedugul or Kintamani, it gets distinctly chilly, and you will need
either a sweater or jacket after the sun sets. Temperatures are high and uniform throughout
the year. They are slightly higher from October to March, when the daily average is around 27
°C (81 °F), and a bit lower from June to September, when the daily average is around 26 °C (79
°F). Moreover, hot days are possible all year round (except in January, at the height of the rainy
season), with peaks of 37/40 °C (99/104 °F). In the rainy season, high relative humidity makes
the heat muggy.

Passport and Visa

All foreigners wishing to enter Indonesia must have a Passport valid for at least six (6) months
from the date of arrival along with proof (tickets) on onward or return passage. Please contact
the Indonesian Embassy/Consulate in your country before the congress in order to check if you
require any other immigration procedures to visit Indonesia.

Free Tourist Visa

Indonesia now provides special Short Stay Visa Free facilities for tourists who are nationals of
total 169 countries who wish to travel to Indonesia. Tourist Visa Free Facilities are valid for 30
days, are non-extendable and cannot be transferred into any other type of stay permit.
More Information on the countries that granted Visa Free Facilities and immigration available
at: www.imigrasi.go.id

Banking Currency
The Indonesia Rupiah is also called IDR. Information on the daily exchange rate can be found
from the internet. Some Indonesia banks provide this on their websites. IDR and USD (US Dollars)
are the most acceptable currencies. Most tourism resorts have money changer facilities. When
you are traveling to remote areas it is advisable to exchange your money and clear your check.
Credit cards are only acceptable in big hotels, restaurants, shops and travel agencies.
Rough exchange rate:
Rp. 10,400 = 1 AUD
Rp. 16,200 = 1 USD
Rp. 17,200 = 1 EUR
(Currency rate as of April 2024)

15
ATM
Automatic Teller Machines are mushrooming all over the island, especially at shopping center
and bank branches. It will be easy for you to 􀃶nd one in any of the main tourist centres. Most
of them are connected to international banking networks (Plus/Cirrus or Alto networks) thus
making it possible to look for machines that are affiliated with your own ATM network. Limitation
withdrawal is depending on your respective home bank. Machines are loaded with IDR50,000
denomination notes or IDR100,000 denomination notes, as indicated on the machine; however
keep in mind that the bigger notes can be harder to split, especially in rural non-tourist areas.

Plugs and electricity.

The standard voltage throughout Indonesia
is normally 230 V and with a standard
frequency of 50 Hz. Most power plugs and
sockets in Indonesia are type C and F. This
plug is the 2 pin socket and plug design
which is the standard European plug. If
you’re coming from a country that does not
use this type of sockets, you should buy a
power plug adapter. Amazon sells plenty,
but you can also find them in many local
minimarkets around Indonesia.

Flight to Bali
Bali is very well connected internationally. Plenty of budget and international carriers are
operating flights to Bali but not all airlines are back to the full schedule compared to pre-covid.
Airport in Bali (I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport) is now equipped with the latest and most
convenient facilities.
