4 SYSTEM DESIGN

4.1 System Architecture

Figure 4.1: System Architecture

As an integral part of the project team, our focus in the System Architecture phase is to
craft a robust and scalable foundation for the "Web Apps with Search Engine Optimization
(SEO)" platform. The proposed system architecture is designed to seamlessly integrate key
components, ensuring optimal performance and flexibility. The architecture comprises the
following key elements.

 Web Server: Utilize a high-performance web server to handle user requests efficiently.
Implement load balancing mechanisms to distribute traffic evenly and ensure
responsiveness.

APCOER, Department of Information Technology 2023-24

23
 Application Layer: Develop a modular application layer to encapsulate business logic,
catering to distinct user classes such as content creators, SEO analysts, and
administrators.
Leverage a microservices architecture to enhance scalability and maintainability.
 Database Management: Employ a relational database management system (RDBMS)
to store and retrieve data efficiently. Ensure data integrity through normalization and
effective indexing strategies.

 Content Delivery Network (CDN): Implement a CDN to optimize the delivery of

multimedia content, ensuring fast load times for users across diverse geographical
locations.

 Security Measures: Integrate robust security protocols, including encryption for data
transmission and secure storage mechanisms. Deploy firewalls and intrusion detection
systems to safeguard against potential threats.

 API Integrations: Facilitate seamless integration with third-party APIs for tools like
SEMrush, Google Analytics, and Canva Teams. Implement RESTful APIs to enhance
interoperability with external systems.

 Scalability Mechanisms: Design the architecture to be horizontally scalable, allowing

for the addition of resources to accommodate increased user traffic and content volume.
Implement caching mechanisms to optimize performance during peak loads.

 Monitoring and Analytics: Integrate monitoring tools to track system performance,

detect anomalies, and facilitate proactive issue resolution. Leverage analytics platforms
to gain insights into user behavior, informing content strategy and SEO optimizations.

4.2 Data Flow Diagram

In our pursuit to create a coherent and efficient system for "Web Apps with Search Engine
Optimization (SEO)," the Data Flow Diagram (DFD) serves as a visual representation of
the flow of data within the system. This diagram illustrates the processes, data stores, and
data flows that collectively contribute to the functionality of the platform. Key elements of
the DFD include.

Figure 4.2: Data Flow Diagram

4.2.1 Processes:

 User Authentication and Authorization: The process of validating user credentials and
assigning appropriate access levels.

 Content Creation and Editing: The process through which content creators generate and
modify insurance-related blogs.

 SEO Analysis: The process of utilizing tools like SEMrush to perform keyword
analysis and track SEO performance.

APCOER, Department of Information Technology 2023-24

25
 System Monitoring: Continuous monitoring of the system's health, performance, and
security.

4.2.2 Data Stores:

 Database: The central data store housing user profiles, content, SEO analytics, and
system configuration.

 External APIs: Data stores representing the information retrieved from external APIs,
including SEMrush and Google Analytics.

4.2.3 Data Flows:

 User Registration Data Flow: Captures the flow of data when a user registers, including
user details stored in the database.

 Content Publication Data Flow: Illustrates the process of publishing content, involving
the creation of a blog post and storage in the database.

 SEO Analysis Data Flow: Represents the flow of data between the system and external
SEO tools for keyword analysis and performance tracking.

 User Feedback Data Flow: Demonstrates the process of collecting user feedback and
storing it in the database for analysis.

4.3 Entity Relationship Diagram

Figure 4.3: Entity Relationship Diagram

The Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD) for our "Web Apps with Search Engine
Optimization (SEO)" project delineates the relationships and interactions among different
entities within the system. Key entities include User, Blog Post, SEO Analytics, and User
Feedback, each connected by relationships that define how data is associated. For instance,
the User entity is linked to Blog Post to showcase the authorship relationship, while the
SEO Analytics entity establishes a connection with the Blog Post to indicate the impact of
SEO strategies on content performance. The ERD serves as a foundational tool for database
