Chapter1:Introduction

1.1Introduction of company

 Name: S.S Constructions.

 Owner Name: Sabha singh.

 Location:301 Avadh Complex , D-5 near Sal Baba Mandir , Laxmi nagar ,Delhi-110092.

 S.S construction provide services like supply of building construction materials,Trading of any
materials and civil contractors .
 S.S constructions is majorly running constructions of all types of buildings projects and one of them
Project is seltool of medical research and technology(SMRT) Kanpur.Uttar Pradesh.

1.2 Aim and Objective of the internship:

 An internship is a purposeful activity of the student set in a work environment in order to obtain

learning outcomes within their curriculum.

 The aim of internship is providing direction to the activities,help to focus on result,and to assess

the result achieved.

 To gain practical knowledge and techniques from the site.

 Skill development which is required in further jobs.

 Labour and material management on site for faster work completion.

 To have knowledge about the role and responsibility as an engineer on site.

 An ability to use the techniques ,skills and modern engineering tool necessary for enginnering

practice.

1.3 Site Overview:

 School of medical Research and Technology (SMRT) is institutional building and has
G+6 currently footing and column work is going. Many activity were working in this
project like shuttering work , fotting and column casting ,Reinforcement work ,soil filing
etc.

Chapter2: Roles and Responsibilities

 2.1 General

• Check proper ratio for M40 grade during the casting of footing and column.

• Check the form work of column and footing.

• Check the placement of Reniforcement in column and footing.

• Check soil filling.

• Leveling of footing and column.

• Check BBS in steel yard.

• Material management and availability during casting of structures.

 2.2 Daily Tasks And Activities:

• Leveling.

• PCC work in foundation.

• Formwork of footing and column.

• Reniforecement work of footing and column.

• Casting of footing and column.

• Layering of footing and column.

• Management of labours.

 2.3 Leveling work
 Leveling done for the PCC according to drawing leveling also done for the column marking,and footing marking.
 All the leveling done by dumpy level.

2.4 Portland Pozzoland Cement

 The Pcc layer improve the bonding between the soil layer and Rcc.
 In Pcc first layer stone and white sand are use and proper compaction is done.
 After first layer , for Pcc M-15 concrete mix are use.

2.5 Formwork

 Formwork is the process of giving support and stability to concrete before it becomes solid.
 For all types of formwork aluminum plate are using.

 Reinforcement detail of footing.


• Clear cover to outcomes reinforcement shall be as follow.

 Foundation / piles 50mm


 Column ,walls 40mm
 Beam 25mm
 Slab, chajjas 25mm

2.7 Casting work
 Casting of footing
• Concrete mix use for all the footing is M-40.
• All the concrete work is done by use of mixer machine.
• The height of placing concrete is 1.5m.
• Needle vibrator are use for compaction of concrete.

2.8 steel yard.
• Loading and unloading of bars from the tailor truck.
• Verification of cutting and bonding of bars according to drawing.
• In steel yard all types of bars are stored 80,100,120,160,200,250,320 etc ,and also cutting and banding is done

2.9 Soil & Filling.

• Soil filling done upto footing height.


• Soil filling done into layer wise ,each layer is 0.305m height.
• After each layer compaction is done.

1.Communication:
• Gained communication skills by preparing an everyday report on the tasks performed.

• Maintained effective communication between the superior and field crew.

• Involved in the construction stage of the project, site meetings and communication with clients

2.Data Collection:

• Provided technical assistance to senior engineers with data collection and analysis.

• Field work included site visits for data collection.

• Field data collection and measurements.

3.Site Inspection:

• Provided on-site inspection services including column, beam and slab, reinforcing steel, and
Concrete testing.

Checked project progress by site inspection and prepared daily report indicating material and
Labour required for work.

CHAPTER4: OVERALL EXPERIENCE

• Technical Experince:

• Learnt many technical skills ,techniques during internship project at construction site.

• Experienced actual site work is different from book knowledge and different methods are used
on construction site.

• Learnt about footing and column construction which is constructed at site

• Concrete grade used one site M15, M40 grade and got the knowledge about other grades of concrete.

• Book knowledge and leaned skill was very helpful during the technical experience on site.

• Personal Experince :

• Very thankful to the S.S CONSTRUCTIONS for small Contribution of me in GSMST ,


Kanpur project .Thank you for giving me the best guidance as a technical personanl
guidance about the how to make better personal skills, communication , how to interact with
different people on site.

• At the site mason and workers was very nice and gave me the detailed knowledge of work and
gave me best tips regarding work and management.

• Learned about how to manage and interact with many workers doing different type of work
on Site.

• Know about what is the responsibilities of engineer and how to manage whole construction
site and deal with problems on site during work.

CONCLUSION

Overall summer internship is a really good program .It helps to enhance and develop my skills , abilities,

and knowledge. It was a good experience and memories as not only I have gained experience, but also

new friends and knowledge. The treatment by company was just, equitable and professional. I’ve learned
from different units and peoples. I am grateful and thankful to my guide, Mr. ER Hardik patel and Prof

Hussain Rangwala .They help me to handle some of my weakness and provided guidance to me whenever I

am in need. I think the summer internship of 14 days was enough to gain the experience and knowledge on
site. This summer internship helps us to identify our strength, abilities, weakness and more.
