NARRATIVE REPORT

“Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself”. – John Dewey. Most people
understand education as a matter of read and write but it is important to have deeper understanding of
what is the real meaning of education, that the education also consists of experience, environment,
socialization, and communication. School plays a very important role in a child’s education. It is the
primary guide that educates a learner. In school, the learner is molded and shaped to become a better
person. To accomplish this, it would need dedicated school personnel, cooperative parents, and
accountable community, and enthusiastic and innovative learners.

Educators and all those concerned believe that the environment plays an important and
influential role in the learning process of each learner. And so, if classrooms are not conducive to
learning because of the poor physical condition and some school defective facilities of the school, among
others, education is hindered, and not maximized to its potential. With this goal in mind, the Department
of Education conducted its annual activities, the “Brigada Eskweka” and the “Oplan Balik Eskwela” in
preparation for the opening of SY. 2024-2025. This year’s National Schools Maintenance Week aimed to
bring all the stakeholders concerned to participate and contribute time, effort, and resources to prepare
the school for the opening of classes.

These activities are some of the most important programs of the DepEd with its components, the
Brigada Eskwela Plus, and the Brigada Pagbasa. It appeals to the spirit of Bayanihan of private
institutions, private individuals, and government and non-government organizations to work hand in
hand to ensure that the DepEd will realize its mission of protecting and promoting the right of every
Filipino to quality, equitable, culture-based, and complete basic education. In line with the DepEd
Memorandum No. 058, s. 2024 and Division Memorandum No. 306 s. 2024 or the conduct of the 2024
Oplan Balik Eskwela(OBE) implementation for School Year 2024 – 2025 shall formally implement the
activity starting from July 22 to August 2, 2024 with the theme: OBE2024: Bayanihan Para sa Ligtas na
Balik Eskwela. Through this, Pigsag-an National High School have organized Oplan Balik Eskwela
Committee to address the enrollment-related problems, queries, and other concerns encountered by the
public and to ensure that the learners are properly enrolled and able to attend the first day of classes.

Pigsag-an National High School also provides their hotlines to receive calls, text messages, emails,
requests and suggestions from parents, students and other concerned citizens. Moreover, Mr. Christian
Gem C. Pimental, school principal, appointed Ms. Elvie J. Molo as Brigada Eskwela 2024 coordinator. He
then put together a team that led the following committees:Mr. Marco Ruanto and Mr Levie Moran as
Program Implementation ; Ms. Ritchel Alliester, Documentation and Reporting; with overall monitoring
and evaluation overseen by the principal, Mr.Christian Gem C. Pimentel. The School Year 2024-2025
formally opens. The Department of Education expressed the readiness to start new school year under

NARRATIVE REPORT
The National Learning Camp, an educational program dedicated to foster academic growth and
personal development among high school students. The camp was held in Pigsag-an National High
School. This exclusive day of July 3, I had the privilege of serving as a teacher in English subject, my role
as a teacher was to guide and facilitate the students’ academic journey, helping them to develop their
critical thinking, communication, and problem skills. The camp curriculum encompasses a wide range of
subject, from English, Mathematics, and Science. Each day begun with engaging fun games, lectures,
interactive discussions, and hands-on activities, design to challenge and stimulates the students’
intellectual curiosity. In addition to the academic component, the camp also emphasized the importance
of character development and personal growth.

On this day we conducted workshops and activities that they really enjoyed learning. Participative
learners were shown during the activity, that surely, they are interested in discovering and reflecting
their selves in what they have learned during the lectures. It was truly inspiring to witness the students’
growth and transformation as they became more confident, empathetic, and self-aware. Throughout the
entire camp period, an atmosphere of camaraderie and friendship prevailed. The students, teachers, and
staff formed deep connections creating a supportive and inclusive community.

It is also a time that the students were encouraged to reflect on their experiences and create
actions plans to continue their academic and personal growth. Overall, the National Learning Camp was
a transformative experience for both the students and teachers involved. As a teacher, I am immensely
proud to be a part of this educational program and witness the positive impact I had on the lives of the
students. I am confident that they will carry the lessons learned and the skills acquired into their future
endeavors, in making a deference in their communities and the world at large.
