Verbs
Verbs are one of the fundamental parts of speech in language. They are words that
express actions, states, or occurrences. Verbs convey what someone or something does,
is, or experiences in a sentence.
The most common 20 verbs in English are: to be; to have, to do, to say, to get, to make, to
go, to know, to take, to come, to see, to think, to look, to want, to give, to use, to find, to
tell, to ask, to work.

Read the paragraph. Write the verb forms for take, post, and share. I often take
videos of my family and friends. I post them online. I share them with my family and

Form and Basic Meaning of the Simple Present Tense


I talk. The verb after 3rd person singular (she, he,

Daily routines
The most common daily routine verbs typically include actions that people engage in
regularly as part of their daily activities. Here are some of the most common verbs
associated with daily routines:
· Wake up: To stop sleeping and become conscious.
· Get up: To leave one's bed after sleeping.
· Brush: To clean or polish something with a brush, typically teeth or hair.
· Shower: To wash oneself by standing under a flow of water.
· Eat: To consume food.
· Drink: To consume liquid, typically water or a beverage.
· Prepare: To make ready for use or consideration.
· Go: To move from one place to another.
· Work: To engage in activity for the purpose of earning money or accomplishing
a task.
· Study: To apply oneself to learning a subject or skill.
· Exercise: To engage in physical activity to maintain health and fitness.
· Commute: To travel between one's home and workplace or school.
· Cook: To prepare food for eating by applying heat.
· Clean: To remove dirt, marks, or unwanted substances from something.
· Relax: To rest or engage in leisure activities.
· Sleep: To rest with the eyes closed and the body inactive for a period of time.
· Dress: To put on clothes.
· Drive: To operate a vehicle and travel in it as a driver.
· Read: To look at and comprehend the meaning of written or printed matter.
· Write: To mark words on a surface with a pen, pencil, or keyboard.

People usually use contractions when they

School subjects are the different things students learn in school. Here are some
examples of common ones:
· Mathematics: The study of numbers, shapes, and patterns.

· Geography: The study of the Earth's surface, including countries,
landscapes, and climates.
