WHAT IS PATHFIT?
Course Description
PATH-Fit /PE 1 is a course that focused on the
fundamental movement pattern and description
like the non-locomotor and locomotors skills
integrated with cardio and core training to meet the
demands of functional fitness and sports
performance.
The course is in conjunction with fitness concepts,
exercise and healthy eating principles so that the
learners will be able to manage fitness and
enhance movement competency in different
physical fitness activities all throughout their life.
WHAT IS PATHFIT/PE?
Physical Education is "education through the
physical". It aims to develop students' physical
competence and knowledge of movement and
safety, and their ability to use these to perform
in a wide range of activities associated with the
development of an active and healthy lifestyle.

achieved through proper nutrition, moderate-
vigorous physical exercise, and sufficient rest

Physical Development Objective

The objective of physical development deals


with the program of activities that builds
physical power in an individual through the
development of the various organic systems of
the body.
Mental Development Objective

The mental development objective deals with


the accumulation a body knowledge and the
ability to think and to interpret this knowledge
Emotional Development Objective
Physical Education aims at emotional stability
which helps in facing any type of situation.
Physical Education Teachers to Accept Success
and failure gracefully, which are also helped
through out the lifetime
Social Development Objective
The social development objective is concerned
with helping an individual in making personal
adjustments, group adjustment, and
adjustmentsas a member of society.
Spiritual Development Objective
By participating in Physical activities and solving
several tasks in the playfield, one develops self-
confidence and self-control. This self-control
leads to moral and character development

Article XIV, Section 19 of the Philippine Constitution
(1) The State shall promote physical education
and encourage sports programs, league
competitions, and amateur sports, including
training for international competitions, to foster
self-discipline, teamwork, and excellence for the
development of a healthy and alert citizenry.
( 2) All educational institutions shall undertake
regular sports activities throughout the country
in cooperation with athletic clubs and other
sectors.

This Act shall be known as "The Schools


Physical Education and Sports
Development Act of1969."

An integrated physical education and


sports development program in all schools
in the Philippines shall be undertaken by
the Department of Education in
accordance with the following guiding

in young citizens a proper appreciation of
the importance of physical development

development in the schools requires
effective organizational planning and
administration with provisions for
adequate training facilities and
