Health Policy is the expression of what health care
system should be, so that it can meet the heath care needs of
the people.

It aims at the elimination of poverty, illiteracy, ill health,


ignorance and inequality.

After independence, health services were based on the


directions of the Bhore Committee and then the subsequent
committees. The formal health policy was formulated in the
year 1983.
