BIOCHEMISTRY
TEST OBSERVED VALUE REFERENCE RANGE
Aspartate aminotransferase | SGOT : 31.52 0 - 45 I.U./lit

Alanine transaminase | SGPT : 43.61 0 - 45 I.U./lit

Bilirubin Total : 0.61 0 - 1.2 mg/dl

Bilirubin Direct : 0.29 0 - 0.6 mg/dl

Bilirubin Indirect : 0.32 0 - 0.6 mg/dl

C- REACTIVE PROTEIN (CRP)

TEST OBSERVED VALUE
C-Reactive Protein : H 36.12 Upto 6.0 mg/L

INTERPRETATION :

CRP is a marker for inflamation. High levels are seen in any type of infection. In patients without any clinical signs of
infection, CRP can be used as a marker for atherosclerosis.

CRP as a marker for atherosclerosis :

Upto 1 mg/L : Low risk for atherosclerosis
1.0 - 3.0 mg/L : Average risk of atherosclerosis.
3.0 - 10.0 mg/L : High risk of atherosclerosis
More than 10 mg/L : Very high risk of atherosclerosis.

CRP as a marker for infection in children :

Reference interval : Upto 5 mg/L

Progressive decrease in CRP can be used as a monitor responce to therapy.

Method : Latex Immunoassay on Abbott Architect.

CRP is elevated in inflamatory diseases including bacterial infections (pneumococcal) and tuberculosis .
