Overview:
In order to create a structured and ordered learning environment, teachers and students adhere
to established patterns and procedures in the classroom. These practices are essential for creating a
positive learning environment, encouraging effective learning, and making the most of class time. They
are made to make transitions easier, control behavior, and provide pupils sense of security and
regularity.
At the start of the school year, teachers should establish and demonstrate these routines. They
should then continuously repeat them throughout the year. Additionally, flexibility is essential because
changes may be required depending on the age and needs of the kids. Effective classroom procedures
all around considerably contribute to a satisfying and fruitful learning environment for both teachers and
students.

Objectives:
At the end of the activity, the students should be able to:
a. Observe, explore, and document how the teacher in the classroom conducts his/her
routines; and
b. Observe if the classroom management routines are done religiously inside the classroom.

Classroom routines are fundamental for maintaining order, promoting engagement, and creating
a positive learning environment. By implementing well -designed routines and targeting specific
objectives, educators can enhance students learning experiences and foster a sense of community
within the classroom.

1. Create a daily routine for the beginning of the school day,
include procedures for taking attendance, locating

seats, talking, raising hands, using the restroom, and what
to do when completing assignments.
3. Create a daily routine for the end of the period/school day
(putting away materials, lining up at the door, completing
exit slips, etc.)
4. Create a routine for other classroom procedures including
disaster drills, using equipment (i.e. lab materials), and
walking to school assemblies.
5. Keep routines consistent and predictable so students know
