PROJECT PROPOSAL
I. Project Overview
1.1 Project Title: Beyond-the-counter: A Pharmacy Awareness Seminar for Selected Grade
10 Students of Balibago National High School
2.1 Project Goals: Define the long-term, overarching aims of the project. These should be
ambitious yet achievable.
Give the selected Grade 10 students of Balibago Integrated National High School the
knowledge and skills they need to make informed decisions about their health and medication
usage, while also promoting self-worth and responsible healthcare practices. Develop a positive
attitude toward healthy living and preventive care, which will lead to better overall health.
Contribute to the improvement of public health in Laguna, Calabarzon, by encouraging a more
health-conscious and informed community, which will eventually lead to a healthier and stronger
population. Inspire and create a passion for pharmacy as a career path in Grade 10 students,
leading the way for the next generation of skilled and dedicated pharmacists.
2.2 Specific Objectives: Break down the project goals into measurable, actionable steps.
Each objective should contribute to the overall project goal.
● Enhance Pharmacy Awareness: Conduct interactive sessions to educate students on the
role of pharmacists, the different types of medications, and importance of dosage
compliance. Distribute informational materials and resources to reinforce key concepts
and facilitate self-learning.
● Promote Responsible Medication Use: Organize activities to emphasize the
significance of following prescriptions accurately. Collaborate with healthcare
professionals to deliver talks on the dangers of self-medication and the benefits of
consulting pharmacists.
● Inspire Career Exploration in Pharmacy: Provide career talks and studying
opportunities with pharmacists to gain practical experience of the profession.
● Measure Impact and Feedback: Collect feedback from students, teachers, and
healthcare professionals to continuously improve the seminar content and delivery for
future sessions.
III. Project Activities
3.1 Activity Descriptions: Detail each planned activity, including its purpose, methods, and
expected outcomes.
The project will include several activities: a lecture, a bingo game, and giveaways at the
end. This is to empower individuals to make informed choices about medication and nutrition,
leading to better health outcomes. Methods will include interactive presentations, and engaging
games to reinforce the concepts discussed. The expected outcomes are gaining knowledge about
the importance of pharmacy in healthcare.
3.2 Timeline: Create a schedule for each activity, outlining start and end dates, milestones,
and dependencies.
3.3 Resources: List the necessary resources for each activity, including:
● Human Resources: Volunteers, staff, partners, etc.
• Pharmacy faculty member: A pharmacy faculty member will provide information about
public health and the importance of using medications correctly to reduce misuse.
● Financial Resources: Budget, fundraising goals, funding sources.
• Student Contribution: Each student will contribute a range of Php265- Php270 for the
project.
● Material Resources: Supplies, equipment, facilities, etc.

● Weekly meetings: The team will meet weekly to discuss progress, address any issues,
and make decisions.
● Messaging apps: A group chat will be created for quick communication and sharing of
information.
● Lack of interest from students: To address this, the team will promote the seminar
through various channels, including social media, school announcements, and flyers.
● Unexpected changes: The team will be flexible and adaptable to changes that may occur
during the project implementation.
V. Project Evaluation
5.1 Evaluation Criteria: Define the metrics and methods for assessing the project’s success
in achieving its goal and objectives
A survey will be administered to Grade 10 students before and after the seminar to
evaluate the effectiveness of the information shared. The evaluation will be obtained through the
use of a quantitative survey. A quantitative survey is a method that uses close-ended questions to
gather numerical data from a large number of people (Khandelwal, M., 2024). Surveys,
questionnaires, and other formal paper-and-pencil tools are used for gathering it. In this seminar,
it's not just about contributing new knowledge to the students but to also have them enjoy
themselves while they learn something new. Through these surveys, we can assess the success of
the seminars and determine whether we have achieved our goals.
5.2 Data Collection: Determine how data will be collected to measure progress and impact
Data will be collected by administering survey forms. To evaluate the seminar's
effectiveness, the team will administer both pre- and post-seminar questionnaires. Respondents
will answer questions using a Likert scale with the following options: Strongly Agree, Agree,
Neither/Nor Agree, Disagree, and Strongly Disagree.
Open-ended Questionnaire:
1. What specific topics would you like to see covered in future seminars?
2. What aspects of the seminar did you find most valuable?
3. What suggestions do you have for improving future seminars?
5.3 Reporting: Outline how the project’s findings will be communicated to stakeholders
and to the community.
The project's findings will be disseminated through a multi-faceted approach, ensuring maximum
impact and engagement with stakeholders and the community.
Formal Reporting:
Comprehensive Final Report: A detailed final report will be prepared, encompassing the
project's design, implementation, evaluation, and outcomes. This report will provide a comprehensive
overview, including objectives, methodologies, key findings, recommendations, and lessons learned.
Informative Presentation: A formal presentation will be delivered to a wider audience,
including healthcare professionals, educators, and community leaders. This presentation will
highlight the project's impact, key findings, and recommendations, fostering discussion and
collaboration.
Community Engagement:
Social Media Outreach: Leveraging the power of social media, we will share project updates,
key findings, and success stories on relevant platforms. This will enhance visibility and engage a
broader audience.
6.2 Future Plans: Outline potential strategies for continuing the project's work or
expanding its scope.
Our plan is to start with Junior High Schools, specifically grade 10 students as they are
going to plan out their next course in Senior High School where they can decide on the path they
wish to take in college.
Though this project aims to inspire indecisive highschoolers, this project can also be for
parents who struggle with what treatment they should use in times where medicine is not really
needed for the specific condition. Those who know about home remedies often save more by
growing the plants in their garden instead of making a trip to the pharmacy for example, for a
mild cough.
If successful, then this may also be shared to other Grade 10 students and their parents,
along with an expansion of knowledge like incorporating medicinal plants and healthy foods in
meal prep.
VII. Appendix
7.1 Project Budget: Include a detailed breakdown of projected expenses and revenue.

challenging to work with larger samples. Thus, the researchers chose a sample of 50 students

carefully to balance the need for sufficient data with the feasibility of completing the research
