2. Executive Summary

The Sanitary Pad Donation Project was initiated to address period poverty
at Jan Jonker Secondary School in Windhoek, Khomas Region. The
project aimed to provide sanitary pads to underprivileged female learners
to promote menstrual health, reduce absenteeism, and empower young
girls. Key activities included fundraising, procurement, distribution of
sanitary pads, and conducting menstrual health awareness sessions.
Despite challenges such as funding shortfalls and cultural stigmas, the
project successfully reached its objectives, improving the educational
experiences and well-being of the beneficiaries.

3. Introduction

Background of the Issue

Period poverty is a significant challenge for many female learners,


impacting their health, dignity, and education. Lack of access to sanitary
products often leads to absenteeism and social stigma.

Objectives of the Project

- Provide sanitary pads: Ensure young girls have the necessary sanitary

stigmas associated with menstruation.
