I. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
The purpose of this document is to detail the procedures on installation of

Swimming pool Filtration System. The work includes furnishing of labor,
material, equipment and services necessary for the installation of Swimming
pool Filtration System.

• Sand filters
• Hangers and Supports

• Power Drill
• Nylon
• Level Bar/Hose
• Pipe Wrench
• Pipe cement applicator
• Tape Measure
• Laser
• Hacksaw Blade
• Heat Gun
IV. METHOD STATEMENT
LAYOUT
1. Make sure all the punch list prior acceptance of the pool area and
pump room areas were addressed and rectified.
2. Survey the area to be worked on is free from obstructions and debris.
3. Prepare all the materials to be used for installation of pipes and
equipment.
4. Make sure to follow the approved For Construction Drawings and

Consolidated Services Drawings prior to installation.
5. Using the laser and nylons, prepare the layout and elevation to ensure
that the pipes to be installed are correctly in place.
6. Proceed with the drilling activities for hangers and supports. Provide
hangers every 1.5 meters span of pipe installed. Double check the soffit
for electrical marking to avoid drilling of the embedded electrical
roughing-ins.
INSTALLATION
1. For the connection of existing stub-out to filtration system pipes, use

PVC fittings and PVC Pipe Cement to extend the pipe stub out for
optimal Piping Layout.
2. Install Ball valves on vertical pipes before the first elbow for
maintenance and system flexibility purposes.
3. Proceed with the installation of pipes. Utilize the pipe hub for the
connection of straight pipe, only utilize coupling to maintain the
straightness of the Piping Layout.
4. Verify the straightness of pipes using level bar or level hose.
5. Once verified, proceed with the jointing process by application of PVC
cement.
6. Proceed until the completion of the Piping Layout as stated on the
Plan/Drawings.
For 2” or lower pipe sizes:
7. For the overflow drainpipes, make sure that all pipes are effluent to the
surge tanks.
PUMP ROOM INSTALLATION
1. For the pump room pipe installation, follow the approved pump room
layout and the connections of the equipment.
2. Make sure that correct water flow is followed when installing pumps
and other fittings that have flow orientations.
3. Proceed with the pouring of required weight of filter media on the filter.
Double check the position of the filter if correct prior pouring of media.
4. Install foot valves, strainers and other accessories inside the surge tanks
only if stated on the approved plans.
5. Proceed with the electrical roughing-ins and wiring for the power
supply of the Filtration equipment.
V. QA/QC CONCERNS
1. Verify all materials and equipment to be used are compliant with the
Material Approval Submittals.
2. All delivered equipment will undergo Material Inspection conducted
by the QA/QC Engineer.
3. Observe1% to 0.5% slope for drainpipes going to surge tanks.
4. Ensure all Work inspection requests are submitted timely on every
activity.
VI. HEALTH AND SAFETY
1. All works shall comply with safety procedures or instruction set out in the
project safety plan, rules and regulations.
2. Use power tools in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations
and instructions.
3. Use proper PPEs during preparation, installation, and cleaning.
4. Provide adequate lighting when working at night.
5. Make sure to provide barricades, caution tapes and signage’s prior to

start of work and even after each completed work to avoid damages
and rework.
