4. Section C has 6 questions carrying 03 marks each.
5. Section D has 4 questions carrying 05 marks each.
6. Section E has 3 case based integrated units of assessment (04 marks each) with subparts of the
values of 1, 1 and 2 marks each respectively.
7. All Questions are compulsory. However, an internal choice in 2 Qs of 5 marks, 2 Qs
of 3 marks and 2 Questions of 2 marks has been provided. An internal choice has
been provided in the 2marks questions of Section E

pole casts a shadow 16m long .Find the height of the telephone pole.

24 A paper is in the form of a rectangle ABCD in which AB= 18 cm and BC = 14 cm. A semi- 2
circular portion with BC as diameter is cut off. Find the area of the remaining paper.

25 In the given figure 𝑃𝐴 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑃𝐵 are the two tangents from an external point P to the circle with
the centre O. If ∠𝐴𝑃𝐵 = 50˚ then what is the measure of ∠OAB. 2

In a circle of radius 7 cm, tangent PT is drawn from a point P such that PT = 24 cm. If O is the
centre of the circle ,then find the length of OP.

27 The difference between two numbers is 15 and one number is four more than twice the other
number. Form the pair of linear equations and find the numbers.

The path of a train A is given by the equation 10x + 2y – 4 = 0 and the path of another train B is
given by the equation 20x + 4y – 12 = 0.Represent this equation graphically and mention whether
the trains are in the safe track.

28 Find the zeroes of the quadratic polynomial 𝑥 2 + 7𝑥 + 10 and verify the relationship between
the zeroes and the coefficients.

Section D consists of 4 questions of 5 marks each.
32 In a class test , the sum of Gagan’s mark in Mathematics and English is 45. If he had 1 mark 5
more in Mathematics and 1 less in English then the product of marks would have been 500. Find
the original marks obtained by Gagan in Mathematics and English separately.

A motor boat whose speed is 18 km / hr in still water takes 1 hour more to go 24 km upstream
than to return downstream to the same spot. Find the speed of the stream.

A tent is in the shape of a cylinder surmounted by a conical top. If the height and the diameter

of the cylindrical part is 2.1m and 4m respectively, and the slant height of the top is 2.8m,
find the area of the canvas used for making the tent. Also find the cost of the tent at the
rate of Rs 500 per m2.

A medicine capsule is in the shape of a cylinder with two hemispheres stuck at each of its ends.
The length of the entire capsule is 14 mm and the diameter of the capsule is 5mm.Find its total
surface area.

Your friend Dhanwanth wants to participate in a 200m race. He can currently run that distance in
51 seconds and with each day of training it takes him 2 seconds less. He wants to do it in 31
seconds .Based on the above information
(i) Find the A.P and the common difference. 1

(ii) What is the minimum number of days he needs to practice till his goal is reached? 1

(iii) Find the difference in his time between 3rd and 9th day.
(OR) 2

If 𝑛𝑡ℎ term of an AP is given by 𝑎𝑛 = 2𝑛 + 3 then find the first 3 terms and the common
difference.
37 Amrit and Shaan are friends living on the same street in Rajiv Nagar .Shaan’s house is at the
intersect of one street with another street on which there is a Library.They both study in the same
school and that is not far from Shaan’s house. Suppose the school is situated at the point O, ie the
origin ,Amrit’s house is at A, Shaan’s house is at B and the Library is at C. Based on the above
information answer the following questions.

38 Robby is watching the top and bottom of a light house from the top of a building. The angle of
elevation and depression of the top and the bottom of the light house from the top of a 60m high
building are 30˚ and 60˚ respectively. Based on the above information answer the following

(i) Find the distance between the light house and the building.
(ii) Find the height of the light house.
(iii) What will be the distance between the light house and the building if the angle of depression 2
is 45˚ from the top of the building to the bottom of the light house?

What will be the sum of heights of light house and building and also find the difference between
the two distances from (i) and (iii) above?
