3. In Section A, Questions no. 1-18 are multiple choice questions (MCQs) and questions no. 19 and 20 are Assertion-

Reason based questions of 1 mark each.

4. In Section B, Questions no. 21-25 are very short answer (VSA) type questions, carrying 02 marks each.

5. In Section C, Questions no. 26-31 are short answer (SA) type questions, carrying 03 marks each.

6. In Section D, Questions no. 32-35 are long answer (LA) type questions, carrying 05 marks each.

7. In Section E, Questions no. 36-38 are case study-based questions carrying 4 marks each with sub-parts of the

values of 1,1 and 2 marks each respectively.

8. All Questions are compulsory. However, an internal choice in 2 Questions of Section B, 2 Questions of Section C

and 2 Questions of Section D has been provided. An internal choice has been provided in all the 2 marks questions
of Section E.

m and breadth is increased by 2 m. Find the length and breadth of the park.
35. The length of the shadow of a tower standing on level plane is found to be 2x metres longer when the sun's [5]

altitude is 30° than when it was 45°. Prove that the height of tower is x ( √3 + 1) metres.

36. Read the following text carefully and answer the questions that follow: [4]
Two poles, 30 feet and 50 feet tall, are 40 feet apart and perpendicular to the ground. The poles are supported by
wires attached from the top of each pole to the bottom of the other, as in the figure. A coupling is placed at C
where the two wires cross.

i. What is the horizontal distance from C to the taller pole? (1)


ii. How high above the ground is the coupling? (1)
iii. How far down the wire from the smaller pole is the coupling? (2)

While designing the school year book, a teacher asked the student that the length and width of a particular photo
is increased by x units each to double the area of the photo. The original photo is 18 cm long and 12 cm wide.

ii. Write the corresponding quadratic equation in standard form. (1)
iii. What should be the new dimensions of the enlarged photo? (2)
