    Description:

    To meet the centerpiece competition's goals, we'll start with offering ideas through design
    examples and a variety of materials to encourage creativity. Participants will be separated into
    teams to encourage collaboration and idea exchange, and clear grading criteria will be provided
    to help them create visually appealing and balanced designs. Time reminders will be given to
    ensure that students complete their task on time. Additionally, brief feedback sessions during
    the competition will help participants polish their designs and improve their making skills,
    resulting in a successful and meaningful event for all involved.

    OBJECTIVES:

    • To inspire creativity in crafting unique and elegant centerpieces suitable for various
    events.
    • To challenge participants to use sustainable materials while maintaining aesthetic appeal.

    MECHANICS:

    1. Interested teams must register in advance for the competition


    2. Open to Hospitality and Tourism students, 1st year to 3rd year level.
    3. This is a pair competition, two (2) students per entry and open to HRTM students, 1st year to
    3rd year level.
    4. Each participant will be given a floral foam for the centerpiece they will create.
    5. Teams are not allowed to bring artificial flowers. Only real flowers are allowed.
    6. Teams are allowed to select additional materials within a budget limit, or they can bring
    their own materials to enhance their centerpiece.
    7. Teams are given a maximum of 45 minutes to create their centerpieces.
    8. The centerpiece made by each participant will be displayed on the buffet table.

    CRITERIA FOR JUDGING

    Creativity and originality: Assesses the uniqueness and 30%


    inventiveness of the design.

    Visual Appeal: Evaluates the overall aesthetic harmony and 25%


    attractiveness of the centerpiece.

    Craftsmanship and Skill: 20%


    Focuses on the quality of work and attention to detail in the
    arrangement.

    Theme Adherence: Measures how well the 15%


    centerpiece aligns with the given theme, ensuring
    relevance to the competition's goals.

    Time Management:Assesses how efficiently participants 10%


    utilized their time to complete the centerpiece within the allotted
    time frame.
