About the Conference
The international conference on “Advanced Engineering Optimization Through Intelligent
Techniques (AEOTIT)” is scheduled to be held during July 01-03, 2013. The objective of this
conference is to bring together experts from academic institutions, industries and research
organizations and professional engineers for sharing of knowledge, expertise and experience
in the emerging trends related to advanced engineering optimization techniques and their
applications.
The conference is structured as keynote speeches followed by parallel sessions. The
keynote speeches will be delivered by the eminent personalities at international level invited to
introduce the theme of the conference. Each parallel session starts with an invited talk on a
specific topic followed by contributed papers.
Papers are invited from the prospective authors from industries, academic institutions,
R&D organizations and from professional engineers belonging to the engineering disciplines.
Potential topics to be addressed in this conference include, but are not limited to,
the applications of the following advanced optimization techniques to the disciplines of
MECHANICAL, MANUFACTURING, AERONAUTICAL, AUTOMOBILE, CIVIL,
STRUCTURAL, ELECTRICAL, ELECTRONICS, COMPUTER and CHEMICAL engineering.
• Single and multi-objective optimization using: Genetic algorithm (GA), Differential
evolution (DE), Simulated annealing (SA), Tabu search (TS), Particle swarm
optimization (PSO), Ant colony optimization (ACO), Artificial immune algorithm
(AIA), Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) algorithm, Harmony search (HS) algorithm,
Teaching-learning-based optimization (TLBO) algorithm, Bio-geography based
optimization algorithm, Gravitational search algorithm, Charged system
algorithm, Cuckoo search algorithm, Grenade explosion algorithm, League
championship algorithm, Firefly algorithm, Bacteria foraging optimization, Hybrid
optimization techniques, and other new metaheuristic techniques.
• Artificial neural networks based optimization
• Concepts of fuzzy logic in optimization
• Multi-attribute decision making methods such as SAW, WPM, AHP, TOPSIS,
Graph theory and matrix approach, ELECTRE, PROMETHEE, VIKOR, GRA, DEA,
UTA, OWA, ORESTE, etc.

About the Host Institute

The institute was established as Sardar Vallabhbhai Regional College of Engineering &
Technology in 1961 and was upgraded by Government of India as a National Institute of
Technology on 4th October, 2002. The institute is one of the pioneering institutions of India
and has contributed many outstanding engineers in India and abroad. It is conducting six UG
programs and fifteen PG programs in engineering, 3 PG programs in applied sciences and
Ph.D. program in all disciplines of engineering and applied sciences. The institute has an
excellent placement record with a number of top ranking companies visiting the campus every
year.

About the Department

The Department of Mechanical Engineering came into existence in the year 1961. The
department has qualified and dedicated faculty members with the specialization in various
areas. The department is conducting a UG program (Mechanical Engg.), five PG programs
(Mechanical Engg., Turbo Machines, Industrial Process Equipment Design, CAD/CAM and
Thermal System Design) and a research program leading to Ph.D. degree.
About Surat
Surat is a top ranking industrial city of India. It is well known worldwide for textiles, zari and
diamond industries. Several large scale industries and establishments are located in the city
(e.g. RIL, L&T, ESSAR, NTPC, etc.). The city is situated on the main western railway route
between Vadodara and Mumbai. Direct flights operate daily between Delhi and Surat.

Registration Fee
• Delegates from academic institutions (faculty members/research scholars/students):
Rs. 3500 (for Indians)
$100 (for foreigners)
• Delegates from industries and R&D organizations:
Rs. 4000 (for Indians)
$150 (for foreigners)

The registration fee enables the participants to receive the conference kit, hard and soft copies
of the Proceedings, Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Tea and Coffee during the conference days.
Registration by at least one of the authors is compulsory for each paper (i.e.
registration is necessary for each paper). The authors of research papers are required
to send the registration fees in the form of a Demand Draft (DD) drawn in favor of
“Director, SVNIT” payable at Surat so as to reach the Convenor on or before 31st May
2013. The foreign authors may send the international DD or they may contact the
Convenor of the conference to get the details for “Bank Transfer”.

Important Dates
The guidelines to prepare the camera-ready manuscript are enclosed with this ‘Call for
Papers’. Manuscripts not following the guidelines will NOT be considered. Authors are
required to submit the camera-ready manuscripts as e-mail attachments to aeotit@gmail.com
and raoravipudi@gmail.com on or before 31st May 2013.

Camera-Ready Full Papers and the Registration Fees Due: 31st May 2013
Notification of Acceptance: One week from the date of receiving the soft copy
of paper AND the hard copies of the demand draft
and the signed copyright form

The Indian researchers from far away distances and the foreign researchers are advised
to submit their papers well before the last date so that the status of their papers can be
informed to them at the earliest and they can plan their journey accordingly.
The last date for the hard copies of the DD and the signed copyright form to reach
the Convenor is 31st May 2013. Only those papers for which the hard copies of DD and
the signed copyright form are received will be considered. The status of the research
paper (i.e. accepted / to be revised / rejected) will be intimated to the authors within a
week of receiving the camera-ready soft copy of the paper through e-mail and the
hardcopies of the DD and the signed copyright form by post. However, the DDs will be
sent back by speed post to those authors whose papers are not accepted.
The accepted papers will be published in the Proceedings of the
conference with ISBN (International Standard Book Number).
