 About the University of Agricultural Sciences, Raichur
University of Agricultural Sciences, Raichur has three important mandates viz., teaching, research
and extension. The university has excelled in all three areas which are reflected in the quality of students
passed out from the university, the high yielding varieties and other technologies developed by the scientists
of the University and the innovative extension programmes initiated to popularize these technologies and
varieties. By the virtue of the efforts of the university, it has attained accreditation by ICAR. In addition to
this it has obtained 12B status from University Grants Commission (UGC) and accreditation from National
Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with B+ Grade. University has implemented Go-Green
Programme to popularise the use of bicycles in the campus as well as Green Graduation Programme to
maintain eco-friendly environment apart from My Garden : My Meal Programme for the good health of
students in the hostel. The Geographical Indication Registry, Govt. of India has given GI tag to the
Kalaburagi redgram considering the contributions made thereon. In all such and other areas, if the
University has made a name, a part of the credit goes as well to Postgraduate students. In short, PG students
have been our major workforce and many initial trials carried out by the students under the guidance of
teachers have bloomed into technologies on several occasions. Such of those examples for which Patents
sanctioned are Automated system for age detection of the rice grain, Chitosan Zinc- Oxide Nano adsorbent
coated sand filter bed for dairy industry wastewater treatment and Power operated aloe Vera leaf slicing
machine).
About the National PG Research Conference
Students possess knowledge and skills in their disciplines which are expressed through grades and
OGPA after clearing the examinations. But there are some intrinsic and inbuilt skills present in students that
get exposed and unveiled only on certain platforms of academic significance. Through such platforms of
seminars, conferences etc. morale of the students for communication and presentation skills get boosted thus
paving the way for increasing their confidence in facing the audience of academic excellence on open
platforms. Recognising this phenomenon Directorate of Postgraduate Studies, UAS, Raichur decided to hold
National PG Research Conference-2024 (NPGRC-2024) for two days i.e. on 12th - 13th August, 2024
respectively in Raichur campus wherein all the Masters as well as Doctoral students make Poster and Oral
Presentations of their approved research work across different disciplines. This Research Conference also
acts as a forum for students, teachers, scientists, academicians, experts and others for exchanging their
knowledge and experience in the subjects of professional importance. This Conference serves the following
objectives.
• To develop and hone presentation skills in Masters’ and Doctoral degree students.
• To help students in acquiring skills of scientific writing and preparation of abstracts.
• To provide a platform for effective interaction among students, members of the faculty and experts in
order to upgrade and enrich their knowledge in professional subjects.
• To serve as a platform in identifying inter-disciplinary research opportunities.

4. Horticulture: Fruit Science, Vegetable Science, Floriculture & Landscaping, Plantation, Spices,
Medicinal & Aromatic Plants and Post Harvest Technology.
5. Agricultural Engineering: Processing & Food Engg., Farm Machinery & Power Engg., Soil &
Water Conservation Engineering, Irrigation & Drainage Engineering and Renewable Energy
Engineering.
6. Social Sciences: Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Extension Education, Agricultural Marketing,
Agri-Business Management and Agricultural Statistics.

Call for Abstracts
Senior Master’s and III year Doctoral degree students shall submit Abstracts and Extended
Summaries of their research findings, respectively.

Participants are informed to submit their Abstracts/ Extended Summaries along with the
registration form through email at pgseminar@uasraichur.edu.in. The Abstracts and Extended Summaries
should not exceed 200 and 400 words, respectively typed in MS word, font size 12 in Times New Roman
with double line spacing. The title of the Extended Summaries and Abstracts should be in capital letters
followed by the name and complete postal address, with e-mail of the corresponding author.
Poster Dimension: The dimension of the poster is 100 x 80 cm
Conference Presentations:
I year Master’s and I & II year Doctoral degree students : Participation in the conference.
II year Master’s students : Poster presentation (Research Highlights).
III year Doctoral students : Oral presentation/ Short Communications
(Research Highlights).

The two days National PG Research Conference-2024 (NPGRC-2024) will be held in the premises
of the University of Agricultural Sciences, Raichur on 12th - 13th August, 2024 with concurrent sessions of
Poster and Short Communication presentations.
Boarding and Lodging:
Accommodation for participants will be provided in the UAS guest houses on first- cum-first serve
basis mostly confining to the dormitory type of arrangements. However, for accompanying faculty/
Scientists, rooms will be provided in Guest Houses of the campus.

The sponsorship to the conference for advertising/ advertisement on the compendium of abstracts is
welcome as per the details below:
