ACTIVITY 2 – FACTS ABOUT THE FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK

According to international standard ISO 8601, Monday is the first day


of the week. It is followed by Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday,
and Saturday. Sunday is the 7th and last day of the week.

While, for example, the United States, Canada, Brazil, Japan and other
countries consider Sunday as the first day of the week and Saturday is
7th and last day of the week.

LESSON 5 – REVISION AND WEEKLY ASSESSMENT

As stated in performance objectives or lesson evaluation.


PRESENTATION
To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson.


Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Teacher organizes pupils in groups or pairs depending on the size


of the class.

3. Teacher guides pupils to count in 2s, 3s, 5s and 10s from 490 –
510.

Pupil’s Activities – Follow the teacher’s guides to skip count in 2s, 3s,
5s and 10s from 490 – 510.

4. Teacher asks the groups or pairs,

What day of the week is tomorrow?

What day of the week is yesterday?

Pupil’s Activities – Say day is Monday (assuming), tomorrow is


Tuesday and yesterday is Sunday.

5. Teacher uses the questions and pupil’s responses to introduce the


lesson.

Pupil’s Activities – Pay attention to the lesson introduction to


understand the concept of the lesson.

6. Teacher leads pupils to identify and say the days of the week
correctly.

Pupil’s Activities – Say each of the week correctly starting from


Monday – Sunday.

7. Teacher asks questions about the school and working days of the
week.

Pupil’s Activities – Say the official school and working days correctly.

8. Teacher guides pupils to arrange days of the week starting from a


specific day. For example, starting from Sunday, Tuesday, or Friday.

Pupil’s Activities – Arrange and learn the days of the week in order
from Sunday to Saturday.
9. Teacher uses the pupils order of the days of the week to discuss
fact about the first day of the week.

Pupil’s Activities – Listen to the fact about the first day of the week.

10. Teacher summarizes the lesson on the board with appropriate


lesson evaluation.

Pupil’s Activities – Participate actively in the summary of the lesson


by responding correctly to the questions and write as instructed.

CONCLUSION
To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire
lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
