BELIEF IN ONNES OF ALLAH
 ‫س ۡو َرة ُ ال َحدید‬ ‫ُ‬
‫الر ِح ۡی ِم‬ ‫الر ۡح ٰم ِن َّ‬ ‫هللا َّ‬ ‫ِب ۡس ِم ِ‬
‫ضۚ َوهُ َو ۡال َع ِز ۡی ُز ۡال َح ِك ۡی ُم ﴿‪ ﴾۱‬لَهٗ‬ ‫ت َو ۡاالَ ۡر ِ‬ ‫س ٰم ٰو ِ‬ ‫سبَّ َح ِ هّللِ َما فِى ال َّ‬ ‫َ‬
‫ت َو ُه َو َع ٰلى ُك ِل ش َۡى ٍء قَ ِد ۡیر‬ ‫ضۚ یُ ۡح ٖى َویُ ِم ۡی ُ ۚ‬ ‫ِ‬ ‫ر‬‫ۡ‬ ‫َ‬ ‫اال‬ ‫ۡ‬ ‫و‬

‫ؕ‬ ‫ر‬ ‫ۡ‬ ‫ع‬ ‫ۡ‬
‫ال‬ ‫است َ ٰوى َ‬ ‫ۡ‬
‫س َما ٓ ِء َو َما یَعۡ ُر ُج فِ ۡی َهاؕ َوهُ َو َمعَ ُك ۡم ا َ ۡی َن َما ُك ۡنت ُ ۡؕم‬ ‫َو َما َی ۡن ِز ُل ِم َن ال َّ‬
‫ض َواِلَى‬ ‫ت َو ۡاالَ ۡر ِ ؕ‬ ‫س ٰم ٰو ِ‬ ‫ص ۡیر ﴿‪ ﴾۴‬لَ ٗه ُم ۡل ُك ال َّ‬ ‫ّٰللا ِب َما تَعۡ َملُ ۡو َن بَ ِ‬ ‫َو ه ُ‬
‫ّٰللا ت ُ ۡر َج ُع ۡاالُ ُم ۡو ُر ﴿‪ ﴾۵‬یُ ۡو ِل ُج الَّ ۡی َل ِفى النَّ َه ِار َویُ ۡو ِل ُج النَّ َها َر ِفى‬ ‫هِ‬ ‫‪6‬‬
 Surah Al-Hadid
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
All that is in the heavens and the earth proclaims Allah’s purity, and He is the
Mighty, the Wise. (1) To Him belongs the Kingdom of the heavens and the
earth. He gives life and brings death, and He is Powerful to do any thing. (2)
He is the First and the Last, and the Manifest and the Hidden, 1 and He is All-
Knowing about every thing. (3) He is the One who created the heavens and
the earth in six days, then He positioned Himself on the Throne. He knows
whatever goes into the earth and whatever comes out from it, and whatever
descends from the sky, and whatever ascends thereto. He is with you wherever
you are, and Allah is watchful of whatever you do. (4) To Him belongs the
kingdom of the heavens and the earth, and to Allah all matters are returned.
(5) He makes the night enter into the day, and makes the day enter into the7

night, and He is All-Knowing about whatever lies in the hearts. (6)

‫سى‬ ‫علَ ْی َك َو َكل َ ُ ُ َ‬
‫و‬ ‫م‬ ‫ّٰللا‬
‫َّ‬ ‫م‬ ‫َّ‬ ‫ص ُه ْم َ‬ ‫ص ْ‬ ‫ال لَ ْم نَ ْق ُ‬ ‫س ً‬ ‫َو ُر ُ‬
‫ین ألَالَّ‬ ‫ین َو ُمن ِذ ِر َ‬ ‫سالً ُم َب ِش ِر َ‬ ‫ت َ ْك ِلیما ً (‪ُ )164‬ر ُ‬
‫س ِل َو َك َ‬
‫ان‬ ‫الر ُ‬ ‫ّٰللاِ ُح َّجة َب ْع َد ُّ‬ ‫علَى َّ‬ ‫اس َ‬ ‫ون ِللنَّ ِ‬ ‫َی ُك َ‬ ‫‪17‬‬
[O Prophet!] We sent our revelations to you the way We
sent [them] to Noah and to the prophets who came after
him; And We revealed [them] to Abraham, Ishmael,
Isaac, Jacob, the progeny of Jacob, Jesus, Job, Jonah,
Aaron, Solomon and We gave the Psalms to David. We
have sent revelations to messengers whom we have
mentioned to you earlier and to some messengers whom
We have not mentioned to you and with Moses God had
spoken, the way one speaks: these messengers who were
sent as bearers of glad tidings and of admonishment so
that after them people are left with no excuse which they
can present before God, and God is Mighty and Wise. 18

(4:163-165)
 NEED FOR PROPHETHOOD
• TWO REASONS:
1. THAT FOR COMPLETION OF GUIDANCE
2. THAT FOR ITMĀM AL-HUJJAH. THIS MEANS TO AWAKEN MAN
FROM HIS SLUMBER OF UNAWARENESS AND AFTER PROVIDING
THE TESTIMONY OF HIS INTELLECT AND KNOWLEDGE PROVIDE
ANOTHER TESTIMONY THROUGH THESE PROPHETS TO SUCH AN
EXTENT THAT NO ONE IS LEFT WITH ANY EXCUSE TO DENY THE
TRUTH

َ ِ ‫ان ُم َح َّمد اَ َبآ اَ َح ٍد ِم‬ َ ‫َما َك‬
﴾۴٠﴿ ‫ش ۡى ٍء َع ِل ۡی ًما‬ َ ‫ّٰللاُ ِب ُك ِل‬
‫ان ه‬ َ ‫َوخَاتَ َم النَّ ِب ٖی َن ؕؕ َو َك‬

Muhammad is not a father of any of your men, but he

is a messenger of Allah and the last of the prophets. 17
And Allah has the Knowledge of every thing. (40)

Leaders of the Israelites were their prophets. When one
prophet would pass away, another would succeed him. But
there will be no prophet after me; there will only be
successors.

I and the prophets before me can be likened to a person who
constructed a beautiful building but in a corner there was a
gap for a brick. People would roam around this building and
express their wonder on it and would ask: “Why was this
brick not placed at its place.” He said: “I am that brick and I
am the seal of the prophets.”

‫اس أ َ ْشتَاتا ً ِلیُ َر ْوا أ َ ْع َمالَ ُه ْم (‪ )6‬فَ َم ْن َی ْع َم ْل ِمثْقَا َل ذَ َّرةٍ‬ ‫النَّ ُ‬
‫َخیْرا ً َی َره (‪َ )7‬و َم ْن َی ْع َم ْل ِمثْقَا َل ذَ َّر ٍة شَرا ً َی َره (‪)8‬‬

[They should remember the Day] when the earth is
shaken the way it should be shaken, and it casts
forth its burdens. And man cries out: “What is the
matter with her?” On that Day, she will narrate all
her story at the intimation of your Lord. On that
Day, men will issue forth individually so that their
deeds can be shown to them. Then whoever has
done the smallest bit of good he also shall see it,
and whoever has done the smallest bit of evil, he
also shall see it. (99:1-8) 33
THE HEREAFTER

A Nabī (prophet) A Rasūl

Who created them the first time would create
them again. This whole process is as easy for
him as uttering a word for us.

َ ُُِ‫ن‬
)23( َ ‫و‬ ِّ ‫اء َواأل َ ْر‬
ِّ ‫س َم‬ ِّ ‫فَ َو َر‬
َّ ‫ب ال‬

Thus, I swear by the lord of heavens and the earth that

this shall definitely come [with the same ease] as you
speak. (51:23)

 TESTIMONIES OF HEREAFTER

• The first thing is man’s awareness of good and evil

• It is a small court of justice which is found within

every person which delivers its unbiased verdict at
all times

By no means! I present as evidence the Day of
Judgement itself. And [they think that the Day of
Judgement is a far-fetched reality]. By no means! I
present as evidence [this] reproaching soul within
you. Does man think that We will not be able to
bring together his bones? Why not? We can put
together his very finger tips. [No this is not so]; in
fact [the truth is that] man wants to be mischievous
before his [conscience].

 He asks: “When will the Day of Judgement be?”
But on the day when the sight is dazed and the
moon eclipsed and the sun and the moon brought
together, this very man will say: “Whither to flee?”
– No! there is no refuge now! Towards your Lord
that Day is the resting place. On that Day, man will
be informed what he sent forth and what he left
behind. [No he cannot deny it]; in fact, he himself
is a witness upon his own self however much he
may put up excuses. (75:1-15) 41
TESTIMONIES OF HEREAFTER
• The second thing is the nature of man by virtue of which he likes justice
and dislikes injustice

• The qur’ān presents these facts and asks the rejecters of the day of
judgment:

َ ‫أَفَن َْج َع ُل ْال ُم ْس ِل ِم‬

َ ‫) َما َلكُ ْم َكی‬35( َ‫ین َكا ْل ُم ْج ِر ِمین‬
• )36( ‫ْف تَ ْح ُك ُمو َن‬

• Are we to deal with those who submit to us as we deal with those who
transgress? What is the matter with you? What is this judgement you
give? (68:35-36)
 TESTIMONIES OF HEREAFTER

َ ‫ش ْيء َخلَ ُْنَا َز ْو َج ْي ِّ َ لَ َعلَّ ُُ ْْ َ َ ََذ َُّ ُر‬

• )49( َ ‫و‬ َ ‫َو ِّم ْ َ ُ ُِّل‬

• And we have made pairs of everything so that you may take

heed. (51:49)
THE SIGNS OF HEREAFTER - GENERAL
• Knowledge will be lifted

• Ignorance will increase

• Fornication, drinking and killings and lootings would become

rampant

• Innocent people will be killed;

• Women will outnumber men

THE SIGNS OF HEREAFTER - SPECIFIC
• Onslaught of gog and magog

• The second is that you will see these indigent [arab]

shepherds walking about bare-footed, bare- headed trying to
compete one another in making tall buildings

THE SIGNS OF HEREAFTER - SPECIFIC

• 1. The sinking of the earth in the east.

• 2. The sinking of the earth in the west.

• 3. The sinking of the earth in the arabian peninsula.

• 4. Smoke; this could refer to a great atomic explosion also.

• 5. Dajjāl
