PREFACE

Master of Business Administration (M.B.A) Programme is one of the most reputed professional courses in the field
of management. This course includes both theory and its applications as per contents of its syllabus. It gives
exposure to our practical knowledge and also to get interact with the various aspects of the present market
conditions.

The Visiting project programmers are designed to give the managers the future of the corporate happenings and the
work culture. The real-life situation is really different from the stimulated exercise enacted in an artificial
environment inside. The visiting Project programmers are designed, so that the manager of tomorrow does not feel
difficult when the time comes of taking responsibility.

For our Project Report we have done the project Report On “CARET IT SOLUTIONS PVT. LTD.” So after
Researching, we have finally made an attempt to convert the information in the form of Project Report and have
tried to make it the best by taking all care to check our mistakes and misprints yet perfection is difficult to claim.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

This project analyses ERP software, which is a critical tool for Organizations aiming to streamline operations and
enhance productivity. Enterprise Resource Planning refers to a type of software that organizations use to
manage day-to-day business activities such as accounting, procurement, project management, risk management
and compliance, and supply chain operations.

A complete ERP suite also includes enterprise performance management, software that helps plan, budget,
predict, and report on an organization’s financial results.

➢ Main Findings:

Integration of Business Functions: ERP systems consolidate several company activities onto one platform,
including supply chain, finance, human resources, and customer relationship management. By reducing silos and
increasing departmental cooperation and data consistency, this integration improves workflow efficiency overall.

Real-Time Data Access: The potential of ERP software to offer real-time data access is among its most important
benefits. This feature helps businesses to increase forecasting accuracy, react to market changes efficiently, and
make accurate choices rapidly.

Better Resource Management: Real-time tracking of consultants' time, billed hours, and project assignments is
made possible with ERP software. Avoiding overstaffing or underutilization, guarantees improved resource

A well-known IT consulting company with headquarters in Gandhinagar, India, Caret IT Solutions Pvt.
Ltd. is a certified Odoo Gold Partner with over nine years of expertise in providing cutting-edge digital
solutions. Offering a variety of services such as ERP consulting, Odoo implementation, custom software
development, and mobile app development, the company is committed to empowering businesses through
digitization.

Caret IT was founded to see possibilities and enable companies to undergo digital transformation. Since
then, it has grown to become a reliable partner for enterprises of all kinds. Serving a wide range of clients

➢ Data Collection Process:

The primary data collection process is essential for understanding the organization's work environment. How
the organization operates.

➢ Organization Visit:

Our team has scheduled a to visit define our research analytics for the project. Our team has observed organization
operations and their work environment to get a better understanding of the organization. We have collected
informal data about the organization by watching its workflow and employee interactions.

➢ Interview with Key Personnel:

Our team got the time and date from the company to get the interview done with HR. we have draft the related
questions related to the organization to learn about challenges, performance, and strategies. With the permission
of respected key personnel, we have taken notes for our project analysis.

➢ Specific Area of Studied:

The specific areas of study in this organization are organizational structure, operational process, challenges faced
by the organization, technology use, and strategic goals.

The secondary data collection process typically involves gathering existing data from various sources, rather than
collecting new data directly through a website.

Organization Information System

An organization's information system is structured to collect, process, store, and distribute information. It helps
support decision-making, coordination, control, analysis, and visualization across various departments of the
organization.

o ERP Implementation: Being a certified Odoo Gold Partner highlights Caret IT Solutions' proficiency
with Odoo ERP system implementation. Their strategy is focused on comprehending customer needs and
providing tailored solutions that boost productivity and promote digital transformation.

Data Sources

This organization uses Odoo ERP software and technology. They are integrated. This system is updated or
upgraded to their needs and requirements. In this organization there are two types of data collected.

(1) DSS: Decision Support System

(2) MIS: Management Information System

The data are collected by survey, research, and online platforms, and every platform that you can find the data.
The amount of data collected by the organization is Mid-Level Data.

1. DSS: Decision Support System

DSS are interactive, well-integrated systems that provide managers with data, tools, and models to facilitate semi-
structured decisions or tactical decisions. DSS are man/machine systems and are suitable for semi-structured
problems. DSS are ideally suited for problems like location selection, identifying new products to be marketed,
scheduling personnel, and analyzing the effect of price increases on resources.

Another important feature of DSS is that an individual or a group of individuals can use them. DSS support group
decision support system. (GDSS)

o Components of DSS:
➢ DSS Software: It consists of different mathematical and statistical tools to analyze huge volumes of
data and generate information.

➢ DSS user interface: The interface presents information to users through graphs, charts, text tables,
etc...
➢ DSS database: From internal sources and external sources.

2. MIS: Management Information System:

MIS has large quantities of input data and they produce summary reports as output. MIS primarily serve the
functions of planning, controlling, and decision-making at the management level. MIS converts TPS data into
information for monitoring performance and managing an organization.

Transactions recorded in TPS are analyzed and reported by management information systems that serve the
management level of the organization, providing managers with reports and often online access to the
organization current performance and historical records.

o Poor Sufficiency of Needs: Achieving consensus among various stakeholders is a huge challenge for
CARET IT in this regard. In this case, all the stakeholders in the processes must be on the same page
regarding the issues that the organization is trying to address through ERP. Not very far from this
assumption is the fact that skeptics may be smarter than the advocates. However, only misalignment on
objectives would result in scarce resources and time being wasted.
o Lack of Proficient Personnel: Successful implementation and adoption of new systems are on
appropriate training’s shoulders. If the organization’s employees do not receive the appropriate training

uncertain conditions resulting in high chances of project failure.

In order to improve the overall performance of CARET IT Solutions Pvt. Ltd, with special reference to the
deployment of Odoo ERP, a few strategic measures can be suggested. These suggestions emphasize proven
practices for the successful adoption, tailoring, and maintenance of management information systems.

o Set Specific Goal:

Before commencing the project work, CARET needs to specify its business goals. Such as, which exact processes
need to be improved, for example, inventory management, customer relationship management (CRM), and the
financial reporting system. Setting specific objectives will help throughout the whole project and help keep it
within organizational priorities.

o Involve Key Departments:

The need for effective collaboration across different departments in the initial stages cannot be overemphasized.
This will ensure the customization of the Odoo system to the needs of specific departments and that the system
usability requirements of all users are addressed. Interacting regularly with the stakeholders can also help set
boundaries and get their support.

o Analyse Current Processes:

In order to find inefficiencies and potential areas for improvement, CARET should conduct an extensive
examination of current workflows. It will be straightforward to map out how Odoo can improve operations and
identify customization needs early in the process of installation if present processes have been documented.

o Develop a Migration Strategy:

One of the most difficult parts of implementing ERP is frequently data migration. Data cleansing, mapping old
