FOREWORD
You are Welcome to 2025. The faithfulness of God in our lives has never been in
doubt. In His dealings with us over the years, we have come to see God as our
sustainer and helper in this ministry. We give God all the glory for the
accomplishments of 2024 and for the great exploits He will still bring our way in
2025.
Over the years, the operations of the Student Ministries Division in the Nigerian
Baptist Convention, has been domiciled mainly among students at various
levels. In 2025, our focus will be to strategically and prayerfully look for
sustainable and involving ways of empowering and equipping students for
global impact and for the task of the Great Commission. This mantra will
consistently reflect in our ministerial approaches and work with student. As a
department, we will be committed to Changing Lives (Salvation), Moulding
Lives (Discipleship), Touching Lives (Empowerment), Raising Champions
(Mentoring and Training).
With the above in perspective, this year’s Handbook and Calendar of Activities
was prayerfully, carefully and painstakingly worked upon in order to ensure it
meets the needs of students at the various levels of their operations. Our
expectation is that students in all the fellowship structures (Secondary Schools,
Churches, Campuses, Associations, and Conferences) where the Student
Ministries Division operates will dedicatedly engage with this material.
We trust God that as many fellowships that will be using this manual will
experience the power of God in their lives. It should, therefore, serve as a guide to
determine the various programmes that will be planned and executed in all these
different fellowships’ structures. This must be done with total submission to the
leading of the Holy Spirit.
I will like to appreciate the labour of love showcased by the members of staff of
Youth and Student Ministries Department, as well as student leaders, who
painstakingly took their time during the Annual National Council meeting and
Programme Planning, to come up with the contents of this manual. The National
Coordinator further worked with the staff in the office to perfect the work, to
ensure that this edition of Handbook and Calendar of Activities come out
excellently well. May we all not lose our reward in Jesus’ name, amen.
Shalom!

INTRODUCTION
It is a wonderful thing to begin another year. Hence, I believe that 2025 have in store for
us all great and marvellous experiences that will reposition us for greatness. We give God
all the praise for both the blessings of the past and the awaiting blessings of this new year.
One of the treasures of the Student Ministries Division that cannot be jeopardized is
programme planning. Several people always gather together to pray and plan, in
preparation for an effective, inspiring and insightful programmes. These step calls for lot
of commitments, prayers and resourcefulness. These endeavours also ensured that
everything done at all levels of the Baptist Student Fellowship is done purposefully.
Graciously, God has made it possible to produce another edition of the BSF Handbook
and Calendar of Activities for 2025. It is aimed at charting a course for all our
fellowships. Hence, this is indeed a treasure that every Baptist Student Fellowship
member and leader cannot trivialize. It is quite important to ensure that it’s prayerfully
put to use by all and sundry.
A lot of efforts had gone into this by several people, who were involved at various stages
of its collation and production. We cannot appreciate them enough for the good works
done to ensure that the manual comes out as a good piece. Most importantly, all members
of the BSF National Executive Council who waited on God, planned, and collated this.
The staff at the National Office are also appreciated for ensuring that the final stages of its
production are handled with carefulness.
We send this material out with prayers with the hope that through it, God will achieve the
fullness of His intent for the students of the Nigerian Baptist Convention at the Church,
Campus, Association, Conference, Zones, and National levels.
Shalom!

THE BSF MOTTO
By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another (John
13:35, NIV). The Baptist Student Fellowship motto is a reminder that the love and
unity within the Christian community is the catalyst by which others will recognize
the followers of Jesus Christ.
The logo of the BSF is a symbol which describes the purpose and goal of the ministry
to students. Four (4) symbols are involved:
1. The Academic Cap (mortar board) stands for academic success
(Acts 26:24). The mortar board, placed in the centre of the Church, is the
symbol of academic achievement, and symbolizes the successful student.
2. The Church building stands for the local Church (Matthew 16:18).
The silhouetted Church, in the centre of the open Bible illustrates the New
Testament Church which is today the visible expression of the Word of
God. The Church’s spiral points upward to the Ultimate Source of truth and
wisdom.
3. The open Bible stands for the revealed Word of God (2 Timothy
3:16). The successful student is a part of the New Testament Church
pointing man to the Ultimate Source of all wisdom.
4. The Globe stands for the vision to the whole world (Matthew 28:19-
20). The circle shows that the ministry of the Church is to the whole world.
5
SMD/BSF CARDINAL OBJECTIVES
1. To lead students to commitment to Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord.
2. To involve them in the study of biblical truth and Christian discipleship.
3. To lead them to relate academic discipline to their Christian faith.
4. To involve them in responsible Church membership and denominational
understanding and participation.
5. To involve them in the study and practical participation in missions for
Kingdom expansion.
