Schwartz's Value Theory

Seatwork:

1. Rank your score of the values from high to low.

2. What are the top five values?
3. Which do you think has the greatest impact on your personal goals?

Answer:

Ranking of Values from high to low

1. Benevolence
2. Universalism
3. Self-Direction
4. Security
5. Conformity
6. Stimulation
7. Hedonism
8. Achievement
9. Power
10. Tradition

After ranking my values from high to low, my top five values are Benevolence,
Universalism, Self-direction, Security, and Conformity.

I think Self-Direction has the greatest impact on my personal goals because this value
emphasizes autonomy, independence, creativity, personal growth, and self-sufficiency, which
are essential for setting and achieving personal goals. When individuals are self-directed, they
are more likely to take ownership of their goals, make decisions that align with their values
and aspirations, and persevere through challenges. Moreover, this value can lead to a sense of
fulfillment, purpose, and direction in life.
