5.1 Interfaces
The following interfaces have been identified which affect the works:
5.2 Constraints
Method statement
- Before to start any work, brief all operatives about the risks involved in the work.
- When any circumstances differ from this method statement, please inform the Construction and
Technical Manager immediately.
- The emergency procedure has to be discussed and understood prior to the start of the work.
- Make a safe access and egress for the operatives before starting work.
- A reasonable safe distance (to be advised by construction manager depending on type of works
and situation) need to be kept for other works on the platform like lifting works.
- For elevated working areas scaffolding to be safely executed, inspected and tagged by site safety
team prior to use.
- Defective / damaged material will be cleared from site and documented for any such removals
- Works shall not proceed until an approved construction drawing or detail is issued
- Materials shall be moved to the work area in a safe manner and shall not block access/egress
from the site.
- Suitable mechanical aids shall be used where heavy loads are to be moved lifted into position.
- Co-ordinated drawings shall be developed to ensure that opening levels and locations for MEP
Services are in accordance with approved drawing and / or site requirements.
- Check Materials to be used have been approved by the Engineer and are available on site.

5.7 Installation
- The manufacturer makes DX Split units detailed in schedule of Equipment (in approved shop
drawings), and shall be installed in accordance with this method statement and as mentioned in
approved shop drawings ensuring proper level.
- Identify the spot to install the evaporating unit as per approved drawings.
- Drill holes for refrigerant lines and condensate lines as per manufacturer’s recommended size
and clearances.
- Install appropriate brackets, hangers, expansion bolts or anchor bolts (as per manufacturer’s
recommended sizes) for the evaporating unit.
- Pipe work shall be properly and neatly fixed and supported at a minimum of 2meter intervals
and where possible should be run on galvanised cable tray.
- All pipe work to be tagged with ID number (Condensing Unit ref) at 3-meter intervals.
- Pipe support must not restrict expansion or contraction and every 15 meters in risers an
expansion loop should be done.
- Fit the condensate and refrigerant lines. Make sure fittings and tubing’s are clean and dry (free
from oil, grease, dust and dirt).
- Evacuate the system, test for leaks, check for moisture and charge refrigerant adequately (if
needed).
- The Works Engineer is responsible to brief and organize the training for the workers with
support and in coordination with the Safety Team, the Construction Manager and the
Supervisor. A toolbox needs to be held once per week with different subject and 5-minute pre
task trainings before every start of the works. All trainings need to be documented. Forms are

available with the Safety team. Pre task briefing must be held by the Works Engineer with the
worker’s every time before to start the work and the following questions need to be asked and
action to be taken:
- Which PPE to wear and does everybody have the suitable PPE.
- In addition to the mandatory site PPE, PPE shall be adapted considering the protection against
product used such as glue for all workers in contact with these products.
6.1 Access
- General access for vehicles to the working area is the existing site roads within the construction
area.
- Proper pedestrian access shall be ensured within the site to ensure safe performance of the work.
- Safe scaffolding access shall be ensured to carry out the installation work on elevated platforms.
- Scaffold tags shall be placed on the erected scaffold structure to be used which shall' be
inspected by safety team prior to use.
- A specific procedure is established and issued for dealing with-fire on site. This forms part of
