CYBER-SHIP. INT. CONVERSION CHAMBER. DUSK. The CYBERMAN looks down to the instruments and selects the injector one. He pulls SARAHs hand nearer to him and injects a strange green chemical into her hand. CYBERMAN Chemical inserted. He then places the injection needle back down, and picks up the scalpel. The camera shot shows the scalpel slowly approach an unconscious SARAHs head. A human hand grabs the CYBERMANs hand and pulls it away. The camera pans up. LOLA stands there, here hand covered in a green chemical. SARAH starts to wake up and opens her eyes. We see her see a bury LOLA punch off the helmet of the CYBERMAN, LOLA approaches her. LOLA You shouldnt be awake yet, the chemical should have kept you asleep. SARAH You pun... ugh... you.. LOLA Go back to sleep, you shouldnt be awake yet. SARAH I... I... LOLA Shhh, sleep, the chemical will ware off eventually. I wonder whats giving you strengthened resistance... your time travel machine, your back ground radiation is reacting with the chemical and cancelling it out. Thats ingenious. LOLA watches SARAH fall asleep. LOLA Dont worry... Ill look after you. CYBER-SHIP. EXT. DUSK. DANTON and KARLONG join the crowd. DANTON Whats going on, whats happening?

PERSON #1 Were waiting. KARLONG Why? PERSON #2 Weve been ordered too. PERSON #1 The next stage of operation saviour. PERSON #2 We are obeying orders. KARLONG Wheres the strangers? DANTON Sod that, wheres the President. KARLONG glares at DANTON. PERSON #1 We have no President. Lola is a traitor, on trail I presume. DANTON Where is she?! PERSON #2 Shes on the Cyber-ship. KARLONG Im guessing the offworlders were with her. PERSON #1 Yes, their on there too, receiving trial. KARLONG I guessed as much. DANTON We have to get her out of there. PERSON #1 You cant do that. PERSON #2 It will go against the saviours will.

DANTON Im beginning to think they arent here to save us. KARLONG Of course they are, we just need to correct their mistake, come on. KARLONG and DANTON walk towards the shuttle craft. CYBER-SHIP. INT. BRIDGE. DUSK. The DOCTOR looks around. CYBER-LEADER What are you looking for? DOCTOR A chair. CYBER-LEADER We do not require chairs, Doctor. DOCTOR Yes, I know. What a terribly uncomfortable exsistance. CYBER-LEADER How did you encounter us before. DOCTOR No questions without Sarah. CYBER-LEADER If we accept your terms, you will give us the information we require. DOCTOR Shes my best friend of course she will. CYBER-LEADER You have just proven how friendship is a weakness. DOCTOR How have I? CYBER-LEADER It is in our future you meet us, therefore we will achieve the knowledge to destroy you.

DOCTOR Hmm, Im still not convinced, Leader. It takes an awful lot to convince me. CYBER-LEADER When you become like us, that will not be necessary. DOCTOR All I have heard so far is talk, when do I get to start seeing some of this action? CYBER-LEADER Isnt there a human expression, be careful what you wish for. DOCTOR I havent said the words I wish. CYBER-LEADER You are intelligent. You will become a Cyber-Leader. DOCTOR Flattered, Im sure. CYBER-SHIP. INT. CORRIDOR. DUSK. DANTON and KARLONG snoop around the metallic corridor. DANTON It all looks very machine and robotic. KARLONG Our saviours could be robots. DANTON That would bother me. KARLONG Even though there is no reason to, they have thoughts and processes to. DANTON Just too artificial for my liking. KARLONG Artificial doesnt always mean bad.

DANTON I dont even know where were going, if it was more vibrant and happy and emotional I may be able to get bearings. KARLONG Then we snoop until we can find some directions or someone to give us directions DANTON You seem to know a lot. KARLONG Im an Officer of the law enforcement, Im trained to do things like this. DANTON Thats only recent on this planet. KARLONG I am following the programme I was given by the Saviours. DANTON You know it by heart? KARLONG I memorised it. CYBER-SHIP. INT. BRIDGE. DUSK. The DOCTOR wipes his brow. DOCTOR You said you were going to go and get her, I dont see her in here. CYBER-LEADER Scout. CYBER-SCOUT #1 Yes Leader. CYBER-LEADER Bring me the girl he described, we require her for questioning. The SCOUT walks out. DOCTOR Glad you finally saw reason.

CYBER-LEADER Its the most logical way to get answers required. DOCTOR Now youre beginning to understand. CYBER-SHIP. INT. CONVERSION CHAMBER. DUSK. SARAH properly wakes up, rubbing her head. LOLA Glad your back with us Sarah Jane Smith. SARAH What happened? LOLA You were given the chemical, it made you sleep deeper than the unconsciousness did, but your background radiation from time travel provided some resistance, not enough though. SARAH I saw you kill that Cyberman. LOLA Yes... I... must have found some gold. SARAH Your planet doesnt have gold. LOLA The Doctor gave me some. SARAH The Doctor used all his earlier. I saw you... you punched his head off. LOLA You must have been dreaming. SARAH No, no I defiantly saw you, and earlier the Doctor was suspecting you of knowing something. Just what are you hiding? At that moment KARLONG and DANTON enter.

CONTINUED: (2) SARAH The bad Policeman and the silent assistant. KARLONG Madame President. DANTON runs over to LOLA. DANTON Madame President, are you hurt? LOLA Stop making a fuss, Im fine. KARLONG Off-worlder! KARLONG pulls out his handgun and aims at SARAH. LOLA Just what do you think you are doing you stupid fool? KARLONG She is a traitor. LOLA Under whos authority? KARLONG Under my authority. LOLA I have power over you! KARLONG Your post today was terminated. I am instigating marshal law on this planet and I say she dies! LOLA I wont allow it. KARLONG I never gave you a choice. SARAH Please, dont hurt me, I havent done anything to hurt you, Im innocent. KARLONG Not in my book.

KARLONG goes to fire, but a silver hand grabs his neck, he screams as it snaps. KARLONGs body is dropped to the floor. CYBER-SCOUT #1 stands there. (CONTINUED)

CYBER-SCOUT #1 He was posing a resistance threat. The CYBER-SCOUT picks up the gun and aims. CYBER-SCOUT #1 You have been requested by the Cyber-Leader. DANTON You... killed him! CYBER-SCOUT #1 Cease the emotional outburst. DANTON But you killed him! CYBER-SCOUT #1 Enough. Come with me or be eradicated. LOLA Do as he says, Danton. DANTON But... he... LOLA Do as he says. (Pause). That was an order. DANTON nods and follows the CYBER-SCOUT. LOLA offers SARAH a hand, but she doesnt take it, and they both exit in single file with LOLA in front. CYBER-SHIP. INT. BRIDGE. DUSK. The DOCTOR checks his watch. DOCTOR Their taking an awfully long time Leader, I do hope youre not up to something. CYBER-LEADER They may have encountered or caused resistance. DOCTOR Do you really expect me to believe that? CYBER-LEADER It is a logical explanation.

DOCTOR Based on absolutely nothing! CYBER-LEADER Based on logic, Doctor. The CYBER-SCOUT walks in. DOCTOR Where is she Cyberman? CYBER-SCOUT #1 Behind me. DANTON enters, followed by LOLA then followed by SARAH. SARAH runs over to the Doctor and hugs. SARAH Doctor! DOCTOR Sarah! SARAH (Rushing). Its Lola, shes done something, shes not who she claims to be. CYBER-LEADER Enough of this. DOCTOR Just because your allergic to pleasantries. CYBER-LEADER My part of the deal has been done. The Cybermen are true to their word. Now it is time for you to live up to yours, Doctor. DOCTOR Ask away. SARAH Doctor, you cant seriously consider telling them information, can you? DOCTOR Sarah, I have no choice. If I dont live up to the bargain Im as bad as them. SARAH But theyll learn from their mistakes, theyll become (MORE) (CONTINUED)

SARAH (contd) indestructible, think of the time-line. DOCTOR I have considered the risks. You are more important to me than the time-line and the laws of time. SARAH That is very kind of you to say Doctor, but Id rather be like them than run the risk of never existing. DOCTOR I cannot allow that happen. SARAH This is you playing one of your games isnt it, you have a plan, I know you do... you have too. DOCTOR Not this time Sarah. SARAH No. DOCTOR Im afraid its true. They finally did it. The Cybermen have won. Ive lost this time, Sarah. SARAH Dont say that. DOCTOR There is no way off this ship meaning there is no way off this planet. There is no gold to bargain with. I have nothing. Were going to get converted, hes going to get the information out of me one way or another. This way causes less mental pain. SARAH Youre never beaten. DOCTOR There is a first for everything, Sarah. CYBER-LEADER (contd) Cyber-race cannot be beaten. You are under our control, you belong to us. Soon you shall become like us. DOCTOR And I have to commend you, I cant stop being scared. CYBER-LEADER You dont have to be afraid for much longer. DOCTOR Start asking. Get it over with, Leader! I will tell you anything you want to know. SARAH You cant give up. DOCTOR There is no way out of this, now start asking. LOLA pulls out a small gun that had been concealed in her pocket, she aims for SARAH. LOLA If you say anything that can help the Cybermen then I will fire. SARAH Doctor! DOCTOR Lower your gun Lola! LOLA The Cybermen will not get their information. CYBER-LEADER Destroy her. LOLA Oh no you dont. By the time it takes you to reach here I could have shot both hers and the Doctors brains to bits, now I know that your numbers have not increased therefore your weapons wont work. Im the only one in this room with power so I will be obeyed!

CYBER-SCOUT #2 The females logic is correct, Leader. LOLA You bet it is. CYBER-LEADER You will make your demands. LOLA The four humanoids in this room get safe passage out of here, no hostility from the outside either. CYBER-LEADER The information from the Doctor is judicial to our survival, we will not give you that information. We will survive. We must survive. LOLA Think of it like this Cyber-scum, while hes alive you can get the information, theres a chance at least. If his brain is in little bits therell be no chance. This gun is a Class 7 Delta Ray, his brain will be completely obliterated with a head shot. Look how close I am to him. How likely is it I will get a head shot? CYBER-LEADER 98% likely. LOLA Exactly, an illogical risk. CYBER-SCOUT #2 Her logic is not flawed, Leader. CYBER-LEADER Correct. We have no choice for survival. We do however have a more logical suggestion. LOLA Im listening. DANTON I dont like the sound of that.

CYBER-LEADER You, the girl and the Doctor may leave, but the other male stays and becomes like us. LOLA Im easily in the power to refuse that. CYBER-LEADER It is time for you to rule the risks. DANTON Dont do it, dont make me like them. LOLA Cyber-Leader, us three can leave, no harm. CYBER-LEADER It is the only way to preserve that brain. DANTON Do not make me like them! LOLA All right Leader, you have yourself a deal. DANTON Lola! Lola! No! Lola! Lola! LOLA Well be going now, goodbye. You two in front, move. The DOCTOR and SARAH walk out, hands on their heads, followed by LOLA. The doors close behind them. The CYBERMEN turn towards DANTON. DANTON starts to scream as the CYBERMEN slowly approach him. CYBER-SHIP. EXT. DUSK. The DOCTOR and SARAH walk out, hands on their heads, followed by LOLA holding their gun. The Crowd start shouting. LOLA Shut up and let us through, Im not afraid to fire at anyone and if any of you imbeciles want to test that theory, then try something because I promise you will be shot. (CONTINUED)

One of the members of the crowd goes to hit LOLA, LOLA ducks and shoots him in the head, the small laser beam hits his head and his head explodes. SARAH gasps and the DOCTOR turns away in disgust. DOCTOR That was unnecessary. LOLA No Doctor, that was a warning. Keep going, I feel the cabin may well be a good base of operations, now go. The CROWD let her through, without any resistance offered. CYBER-SHIP. INT. CONVERSION CHAMBER. DUSK. DANTON has been knocked out, strapped into the conversion bed. The injection chemical is injected into him through his arm, and the chemical moves its way up to the brain. CYBER-SCOUT #2 Chemical has been injected. CYBER-SCOUT #2 picks up the scalpel like tool. The camera closes up on CYBER-SCOUT #2s face. We hear the sound of the scalpel cutting DANTONS head. The scene ends with blood splattering on the CYBERMANs face. CYBER-SHIP. INT. BRIDGE. DUSK. The CYBER-LEADER is talking to his SCOUT. CYBER-LEADER With the Doctor outside of the ship the risk level has increased. CYBER-SCOUT #1 Direct us on how to remove this risk level. CYBER-LEADER How near ready are the conversion chambers? CYBER-SCOUT #1 For what type of conversion? CYBER-LEADER Mass-conversion. CYBER-SCOUT #1 We can begin mass conversion in ten minutes.

CYBER-LEADER Ten minutes could be enough for our enemy. The risk will be taken, it is the highest chance of survival logically. In ten minutes mass conversion will begin. CYBER-SCOUT #1 Preparation work will begin immediatly, Leader. CYBER-LEADER We will survive. CYBER-SHIP. INT. CONVERSION CHAMBER. DUSK. The conversion completes. The helmet closes. The helmet light and chest box unit flashes five times. The left hand of the new born CYBERMAN starts to twitch. The right fist clenches. The new born stamps his feet and looks up. CYBERMAN Conversion has been completed succesfully. CYBER-SCOUT #2 You will report with me to the bridge for instructions that will be judicial to our survival. CYBERMAN I will request orders. CYBER-SCOUT #2 You will follow me to the bridge. CYBER-SCOUT #2 marches out and the newborn follows. DANTON is now one of them. CABIN. INT. DUSK. SARAH walks in, followed by the DOCTOR and LOLA. LOLA That went well. LOLA puts the gun away. DOCTOR Good job Lola. LOLA Thank you Doctor.

CONTINUED: (2) SARAH Am I missing something here, she just pulled a gun on us?! DOCTOR Sarah, dont you see? She wasnt going to shoot us. LOLA Only as a last resort. DOCTOR You see only as a last res... you were willing to shoot us, thats not good. LOLA I knew if I did that demand the Cybermen would let you walk out, they need your brain in tact. SARAH Howcome they let me walk out? DOCTOR I dont answer questions without your safety. LOLA Me pulling a gun on you saved your lives. DOCTOR And the lives of billions in the future. SARAH Oh I see, it was an act. LOLA Pity about Danton though, I did try. DOCTOR You could have pushed the Leader to giving in. LOLA How? DOCTOR Firing a warning shot. LOLA I couldnt take the risk, these guns arent foolproof, sometimes the lasers bounce off things, hit those who we dont want.

SARAH Hes one of them now. LOLA You werent really going to answer their questions were you? DOCTOR Well... only as a last resort. LOLA smiles. CYBER-SHIP. INT. BRIDGE. DUSK. The SCOUT is still preparing for conversion at his control pannel. CYBER-SCOUT #1 Five minutes Leader. CYBER-LEADER Five minutes to survival. CYBER-SCOUT #2 enters followed by the CYBERMAN. CYBERMAN Leader, conversion was a success. CYBER-LEADER You require orders. CYBERMAN I need orders. CYBER-LEADER In five minutes mass conversion will begin, you will be part of the squad that brings the people of Lonsis in and you will oversee their conversions. CYBERMAN We will survive. CYBER-LEADER We must survive. CABIN. INT. DUSK. LOLA flicks the hair out of her face. DOCTOR Speaking of questions, I think its time some of mine were finally answered.

DOCTOR Well its pretty obvious that you arent from Lonsis, at least not originally. LOLA I dont know what your talking about. DOCTOR Oh, I think you do. SARAH People from Lonsis arent usually that strong. DOCTOR What exactly did she do, Sarah? SARAH She punched the helmet off of a Cyberman. DOCTOR Really? LOLA No! SARAH Dont lie, I saw you myself! DOCTOR That requires an awful lot of strength to succesfully pull of. Are you sure it was her? SARAH Quite positive. DOCTOR Ah. LOLA Umb... umb... steroids, Im on steroids.

DOCTOR Since Karlong was the head of law enforcement in this city, Im guessing his gun would be the most powerful and top of the range that this planet has to offer? LOLA Yes. DOCTOR I saw his gun. LOLA Lots of people have seen it, Doctor. Youve proven nothing. SARAH Oh, I dont think hes finished yet. DOCTOR Quite right Sarah.

DOCTOR Well Karlongs was only a class three, this planet has only developed up to class three. LOLA Im the President, I get the best. DOCTOR Class four can damage Cybermen, their not taking any risks at the moment. SARAH They were who gave you all this technology. DOCTOR And because they dont want to get damaged they wouldnt let you develop better than class three. SARAH And since yours is a class seven... DOCTOR It didnt originate on this Planet. SARAH And this planet doesnt have space travel. DOCTOR Which means you must be from another planet. LOLA Tell me Doctor, why didnt you become a lawyer. DOCTOR I did train to become a Barrister on Earth actually. Cherrie Booth gave me a pupillage.

The SCOUT turns to face the LEADER. CYBER-SCOUT #1 The conversion chambers are now ready Leader. CYBER-LEADER Then mass conversion will begin immediatly. CYBER-SCOUT #1 It will be done. CYBER-LEADER Survival is no longer an issue. CABIN. INT. DUSK. LOLA glares at him. LOLA I fail to see how it is your business, Doctor.

DOCTOR Ive read the Lonsis colonisation report. There was no mention of someone from another planet therefore it may affect the timeline. LOLA Youre affecting it. DOCTOR Im a Time-Lord, travelling in a time machine that provides protection of parodoxes for up to twenty four hours. I have only been here seven. SARAH The only one affecting the timeline is you, Lola. DOCTOR If thats even her real name, Sarah. SARAH Fair point. DOCTOR Exactly Sarah, exactly. LOLA So I could damage the future. SARAH Yes. LOLA Im here to make it better. DOCTOR I highly doubt youll succeed. If you tell me everything the damage caused can be minimalised. LOLA Its a risk. DOCTOR Sos not telling me. LOLA Fine. Ill tell you my story. SARAH Start with where you come from.

LOLA I think when is a more appropriatre question. The DOCTOR sits up and suddenly stares at her, paying more attention. CYBER-SHIP. EXT. DUSK. Five CYBERMAN walk out of the ship. The CROWD start saying things like "Oh my God its the saviours". CYBERMAN #1 It is time for the next phase of your saving. CYBERMAN #2 You will all come onto our shuttle craft. CYBERMAN #1 We will share the full extent of our secrets with you. CYBERMAN #2 You will follow us. The CYBERMEN lead the people onto their shuttle craft. CYBER-SHIP. INT. CONVERSION CHAMBER. EXT. DUSK. The outside of the conversion chamber is a blank, lifeless, metalic, grey corridor. One by one hundreds of new born CYBERMEN start to walk out. CYBER-SHIP. INT. BRIDGE. DUSK. The LEADER turns to his SCOUT. CYBER-LEADER What are our numbers now? CYBER-SCOUT #1 Seven million and rising. CYBER-SCOUT #2 Weapons are back online. CYBER-SCOUT #1 Eight million.
