Peace be upon him

Introduction
There are some similarities between the teachings in Islam and Christianity in regards to Jesus PBUH. This session is going to focus on the Islamic perspective, so some of the differences will also be highlighted

Jesus in the Quran


Jesus is the most mentioned prophet in the Quran Graven images in Islam are forbidden. So images depicting God, the angels and the Prophets are not permissible, inc. Jesus.

Quran: Jesus as Fatherless


In Gods eyes Jesus is just like Adam: He created him from dust, said to him, Be, and he was. Surah 3:59

Quran: Mary as a Virgin


Mention in the Quran the story of Mary. She withdrew from her family to a place to the east and secluded herself away; We sent Our Spirit to appear before her in the form of a perfected man Surah 19:16-17

Quran: Protecting her chastity


She said, I seek the Lord of Mercys protection against you: if you have any fear of Him [do not approach]! Surah 19:18

Quran: Angel gives glad tidings


but he said, I am but a messenger from your Lord, [come] to announce to you the gift of a pure son Surah 19:19

Quran: Not Crucified


and [they] said, we have killed the Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, the messenger of God They did not kill him, nor did they crucify him, though it was made to appear like that to them Surah 4:157

Quran: Jesus Ascent


No! God raised him up to himself. God is Almighty, All Wise Surah 4:158
