RYield models a reactor by specifying reaction yields of each
component. This model is useful when: Reaction stoichiometry and kinetics are unknown. Yield distribution data or correlations are available. Working with RYield Use RYield to model a reactor when: Reaction stoichiometry is unknown or unimportant. Reaction kinetics are unknown or unimportant. Yield distribution is known. You must specify the yields (per mass of total feed, excluding any inert components) for the products or calculate them in a user-supplied Fortran subroutine. RYield normalizes the yields to maintain a mass balance. RYield can model one-, two-, and three-phase reactors. Ryield Setup Sheet Use this sheet to specify yields for product components, or to specify how to calculate yields. If you select Component yields option, you must specify component yields and the basis for these yields. You can specify yields either as moles of a component per unit mass of total feed or as mass of a component per unit mass of total feed. When you select the Component yields option, you can also specify one or more inert components. If you select Component mapping, you must specify the component mapping on the Comp. Mapping sheet. If you select Petro characterization, you must specify data on the Assay Analysis form to re-characterize the assay or blend. Ryield Componant Mapping Sheet Use this sheet to specify component mapping if you selected the component mapping option on the Yield sheet. For each component. For a lumping reaction, specify a list of reactants which are lumped to form the selected product. Also specify a coefficient for each reactant which indicates the weight fraction of that reactant which is converted to the product. For a delumping reaction, the selected reactant delumps into a specified list of product components. Also specify a coefficient for each product which represents the weight fraction of the reactant which is converted to that product. Click New to add a new lumping/delumping reaction, or select an existing reaction and click Edit to edit it, or click Delete to delete it. RYield Assay Analysis Form

This sheet does not contain the check box to exclude or include heat balance calculations if energy balances are already done as part of block calculations. Also use this sheet to specify the algorithm for exit flashes and mixed inlet flashes. For RYield only, there is an option to check the atom balance. This check cannot be performed when there are components with ATOMNO & NOATOM missing. When there are non- conventional component flows, the check is performed only for ULTANAL elements.
