1. What is Ecotourism?

2. Who are Ecotourists?

3. What is Ecotourism Product?

4. Which are popular Ecotourism destinations in the

world?
Ecotourism is now defined as “responsible travel to natural areas that
conserves the environment, sustains the well-being of the local people, and
involves interpretation and education” . Additionally, ecotourism is a part of
environmental conservation and understanding what the needs of the people
are, who are local to the area so that you can help to improve their quality of
life. It also involves learning more about the history of other cities and
preserving historical landmarks.

WHY IS ECOTOURISM IMPORTANT?

1) Ecotourism helps preserve and foster respect for some of the most
beautiful environments on earth.
2) Ecotourism is an antidote to unsustainable tourism.
3) It’s also an ally of conservation.
4) No one wants to visit a beach that’s covered in plastic. Ecotourism-focused
attractions put the welfare of the environment first to ensure that they
can provide an excellent long term service.
5) This hands-on approach plays a vital part in educating travellers about
some of the hardships that environments face, which can only be a good
thing. The more knowledge we have about the world, the better we can
protect it – both from ourselves and climate change.
THE BENEFITS OF ECOTOURISM

 Ecotourism focuses on pristine natural environments;

 It builds cultural and environmental awareness;
 It encourages positive experience for visitors as well as hosts;
 It minimizes the impact of tourism on the environment;
 It boosts employment and financial opportunities for local people;
