participants cheer for their team as a
form of encouragement. It can range
from chanting slogans to intense
physical activity. It can be performed
to motivate sports teams, to entertain
the audience, or for competition.
Why perform a Cheer Dance?
• To perform and cheer for a team,
• To show you have spirit for the team,
• Todevelop a sense of camaraderie and
teamwork, and
• To pump up the crowd to support the team.

• START WITH THE BEGINNING STANCE (count 1-4), DO THE CLASP
FOR 2 COUNTS (5-6), RETURN TO THE BEGINNING STANCE (7-8)
• EXECUTE HIGH V (1-2), LOW V (3-4). K TO THE RIGHT (5) K TO THE
left (6), L TO THE LEFT (7) L TO THE RIGHT (8)
• TOUCH DOWN (1-2), DAGGER (3-4), DIAGONAL up right with left fist on
the hips (5), DIAGONAL up left with right fist on the hips. (6), LOW
DIAGONAL to the LEFT w/ right fist on the hips (7), LOW DIAGONAL to
the RIGHT w/ left fist on the hips(8)
• EXECUTE BIG T (1-2) BROKEN T (3-4), CLASP (5-6) BEGINNING
STANCE (7-8). REPEAT FROM THE TOP.
